Carenado C182Q released
I have the Carenado C182Q for FSX. Have been in touch with Carenado, and apparently there is an issue with FSX saving certain parameters when you save a flight. I use Virtual Cockpit view the most, but this is applicable to all views. When I save a flight, I always have all the avionics ON, such as comm, nav, ADF, DME, transponder, etc. I also have the yoke removed. When I load the flight later, all the avionics are switched OFF, and the yoke is visible again. Carenado says that FSX is not saving those settings. Does anyone know of a way to save them? I do a lot of saving/loading flights and don't want to have to turn everything on again every time.Barrie

Revised Optimizations for the 747-400X post SP2
Hello PMDG Staff! There have been a lot of new ideas as to how best to tweak/optimize FSX following release of FSX SP2. A lot of AVSIM posts seem to encourage doing little to nothing to the FSX.CFG (this is generally speaking, not necessarily for the Queen). But when I try that out, it's not near as good as I would like and have come to expect from a Quad Core PC and 8800GTX card.I think your earlier tips in the OPS documents are better than no tweaks to the .CFG at all, but thought I'd ask since I haven't seen post-SP2 recommendations in this forum. If you have discovered some revised tips, I'm sure a bunch of us would appreciate it. If your previous tips still apply, that'd be helpful too. Thanks very much.BarrieEdit: Just to clarify, I have Vista 32-bit.

dcrew0.GAU Problem
Bryan, sorry, my oversight. I got going on the install and had the joystick unplugged. Definitely creates a problem when you're loading up the PMDG747 after FS2Crew is installed. It's corrected now and things look just fine. Thanks for your assistance.Barrie

dcrew0.GAU Problem
Bryan, I turned off the DEP as suggested and rebootet; no luck. Then tried the update for directx 9C, but was already current, so it doesn't go any further. Still have the same fatal error screen. Also updated to latest graphics drivers, but no luck. The PC is pretty much a dedicated FSX box, with only the main FSX add-ons installed along with FSX inself. So it's pretty clean and has never had trouble. Really makes me wonder where the conflict is...What does the dcrew0.GAU do? I'm assuming it's a critical piece of FS2Crew and I wouldn't want to run without it. Would appreciate any further thoughts you might have. Thanks.Barrie

dcrew0.GAU Problem
Hello, Bryan. The download and install of FS2Crew PMDG 747-400X seemed to go fine. When I select the PMDG 747 Aircraft in FSX (SP1), it does the normal .GAU validations for about 8 or so files, then hangs for about 20 seconds, and finally brings up the problem dialog screen giving me the "do you want to find a solution on the Web/restart"? The details button gives me the following:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.61355.0 Application Timestamp: 4643ee0a Fault Module Name: dcrew0.GAU Fault Module Version: 1.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 46379cf6 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00001c28 OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033I have re-downloaded FS2Crew, reinstalled and uninstalled several times. I uninstalled the PMDG747X product and reinstalled. I've selected the "Restore original PMDG panel..." button a few times, plus its counterpart. Have deleted the FSX.CFG and let it rebuild.Everything on my PC (Vista 32-bit, ATI Radeon 2600XT Graphics, 4 GB RAM) works fine normally. FSX has no problems and the PMDG 747 flies fine on its own. If I restore the original PMDG panel, the aircraft load goes fine. But if I select the FS2Crew panel, crash on dcrew0.gau every time. If I rename the dcrew0.gau, then load the aircraft, the rest of the gauges will then load/ask for validation. But not the dcrew0. I think I've hit the end of my known options. Can you assist? Thanks.Barrie

Voice Segments New or Same as previous Product?
Yes, thank you, Bryan. Congratulations on your new partnership with PMDG on FS2Crew for the 400X. This makes me wonder if there will be any revision to FS2Crew. For example:In the 747-400X, PMDG updates/revises (in comparison to their FS9 version) some of the dialogues that take place. The interaction with the ground crew around engine start/pushback appears to be more complete and a bit more professional. This makes their excellent product even better. In light of your new cooperative efforts with PMDG, will you possibly be re-working any of the FS2Crew crew/ground/PA dialogues? I think that would make your excellent product even better. Having almost 5000 hours in the C-130 Hercules (navigator, not pilot), I've been a part of a lot of crew communications, interaction with ground/command post/PA, etc. A revision may be worth thinking about now that you've made the considerable move to FSX. Those communications are such a super part of the whole experience. My humble input is to consider an update with a touch more detail in the communications area. Is this feasible without an all-consuming effort? Many thanks,Barrie

Voice Segments New or Same as previous Product?
I just purchased the PMDG 747-400X and am considering buying the new FS2Crew for it. I heard some of the default FSX 747 FS2Crew communications and was wondering if the PMDG voice segments, such as PA briefings, checklist briefings, interaction with FA and copilot, etc. have been re-done for the PMDG version? Or are they the same dialogs brought over from the previous product(s).I really liked how the inter-crew communications gave a sense of when things should normally happen and what they sound like. Obviously a big part of how interesting your product is. Thanks for the info.Barrie Wheeler
