  1. Good day.AMAZING is what I feel with both SP1 and 600/700. At least.Congratulations PMDG team for the great job.I use two 4:3 monitors - FSX running on one and all other stuff on the second - and I'm used to 2D panel. Please!!!!! I'm not trying to restart the thread about 2D x VC.I was NEVER bothered for not having a 2D popup panel for fuel switches. A "SHIFT+A" then back with an "A" is so easy to use, after all.Now I have a very nice 2D panel for 4:3 ratio. I can clearly read all PFD and MFD information. Wow! How nice! But for the first time I miss a popup or a click spot for landing gear as with this new resize it was moved to the right, outside the screen. Now I cannot see the 'three green' unless I change to VC.If it is possible, I'd like to suggest to PMDG team to address this issue on the future SP2.Kind regardsSchmid

  2. http://forum.avsim.n...irfraft-freeze/i found this one, its the same problem that i have but it seems that i cant find the solution there? any solution for it?
Daniel As it is being said by other fellow simmers, you definitely need more RAM. I have experienced the exact problem as yours because of my low end Dual Core + 2 GB. So I'd also suggest you to spend some money getting 4+GB of RAM which will lead you to run Win7 and then I'd suggest 64bits. I have done this and now (without HF4 as I'm waiting for SP1) I have quite all the problems solved - eventually I get a FSX CTD. Good luck Schmid

  3. My question now, what could have prevented the NGX (or FSX) from recovering even after some sliders had been set more to the left? It's just for curiosity, is there any trick to recover from such a situation without changing the aircraft?
Axel. Until recently I was running a low end computer: Core2Duo with XP SP3 and 2GB. Obviously not enough to run NGX together with other programs, which always caused the 'skeleton' effect even running with the sliders at minimum. Changing views, changing from windowed to full screen or any other measure to force a screen refresh did not recovered from 'the skeleton'. So I decided to upgrade the processor to a Quad 9550 and do a fresh install with Win7 64 plus 8GB. Now if I'm flying with 2D cockpit and jump to an outside view I see 'the skeleton' for no more than 1 second. If I'm flying with VC I do not see 'the skeleton' if I go to ouside view. Most of my sliders are at max but I do not use aircraft shadows on itself. I also use water at low 2x. Your specs are better than mine so something is not well balanced. I suggest you to do a defrag on your HD, let FSX rebuild your fsx.cfg and start testing with no sceneries add-ons(UT2) until you find the culprit. Regards Schmid

  4. The flashing textures could be the your unlimited FPSKeep jumping too high sometimes, try external limiter to your fps and if it helps.
Eric The same for me: After some days (!!!) to a fresh install of w7-64 and all add-ons, NGX is running perfectly except for IVAP disconnects (internal - no CTD). I also have those flashes but it is not due to unlimited FPS as Evan suggested. I limited them to 50 and I get them. Initially I thought maybe some PMDG fans taking some shots of that beautiful bird.... LOL.gif Anyway, I can live with this too..... Regards Schmid

  5. Matheus

OMG!!! I didn't know he died. I thought he suffered injuries only. If I knew I'd never do a joke like that. I've already removed that from my previous post. Sorry.
Yes, unfortunately for him things didn't end well. As I can remember, because of that accident they changed the access control to that part of the street which is already in use. Regards SchmidFantastic shots, Gabriel!
I love my home airport at this time of the day. Rio has an incredible mix of beauty: City + Montains + Sea... =)
    +1 Schmid

  6. Gabriel

Are you talking about this ones? I took them on June 10th, 2008. That was a good day!
Yes exactly! They are better when taken from Morro da Urca rather than Sugar Loaf. Nice shots! Paul
I can see why people love this airport. It will always be scary on both landing and takeoffs cause one little screw up and your Shark Food.
I would'nt say I'm such an old guy but I had the opportunity to make (as a passenger) a few flights to/from SBRJ - SBSP aboard the L-188. Wow! Suddenly those guys started to use the 73x and A31x not after lots of discussions about if it could be made or not. But there they are with lots of landings and departures every single day. And there are many stories regarding SBRJ. There is one from a taxi driver that decided to drive at a service street just behind RWY02 at the same moment a 73x was setting full throttles for departure. I don't remember if his taxi is still under the sea..... LOL.gif And there are old approach procedures to SBRJ that are no more in use. The old brazilian pilots already know them: SUVACO1 and SUVACO2 where the aircraft passed a little bit below the arms of the Christ over Corcovado. SUVACO 1 below right arm. SUVACO2 below left arm. What means SUVACO? I don't know there is a similar word in English. Maybe Google Translator can help us.... LOL Maybe we meet at IVAO sometime where I always fly. Cheers Schmid

  7. Matheus As a 'carioca' myself I'd suggest you to get a boat and take your spots near the runway by sea. I have done it a few times and was a mix of scaring and fascinating to see those birds roaring over your head. Of course be aware to respect some distance as per Capitania dos Portos rules and obviously not to be 'blown to water'... LOL.gif Best regards Schmid Oh! I forgot! And what about the spots you can take from Sugar Loaf (more precisely at Morro da Urca) when the birds are landing at 02R!

  8. Some words of faith: Praying.gif I gave up with my old Core2Duo 6550 under XP32 and decided to 'half' upgrade: not to expend too much money, I decided to install a quadcore Q9550 so I could use my existing MoBo. Also I jumped from 2GB to 8GB of a C6 DDR2 memory and, obviously, installed Win7 64 on a new 500GB HD. Not too much money invested and what a GREAT surprise. After many and many hours installing Win7 and tons of updates, plus a fresh FSX+Acceleration and REX, I installed NGX. My settings are at least high or very high and the aircraft is flying like a bird. At 2D I'm getting almost 50 fps which is the limit I set. At external view 45+ fps and at VC 23+ fps. No more crashes, no more freezes. I have made three 45 min flight and just finished a 4 hour flight from MPTO to MMMX. The only problem is IVAP crash - both internal and external - but with no consequences to FSX - which is a known issue to devs and it is expected to be solved on SP1. About 'the skeleton' effect it is still there but it lasts less then 1 second to refresh the external view. Just a 'blink'. And it only appears when I change from 2D cockpit to external view after some minutes flying. When I'm using VC and change to external view there is no 'skeleton' effect. Also the problem I usually had - 'black terrain' - is gone. Obviously I was pushing too hard on my old SO install as now it works like charm. Regards. Schmid

  9. Hi. As far as I learned on the past: - NAV ON and POS Steady at flight preparation.- Beacon ON to warn ground crew that aircraft is ready for startup engines- Taxi on - no need to explain...- Landing lights ON and Strobes ON for landing or take off. On both cases, at 10000ft you turn landing lights off. Somewhere I read that also strobes could be turned off at TA but I'm not pretty sure. I hope things haven't changed. RegardsSchmid

  10. +1 I always have two or three IVAP disconnections/crashes but no FSX fatal error since running IVAP external. I have made some flights with other add-ons running IVAP internally and haven't got a single problem so I doubt it has to do with MSFramework. I have opened a ticket at PMDG support and they kindly answered that they are aware of the problem and trying to solve it possibly with SP1. Regards Schmid.

  11. 1. I do not have a FSUIPC.cfg file on modules folder although I run a registered FSUIPC.2. The latest video driver - NVidia 280.26 - created so many performance problems ... back to 275.33. This have been reported by some other users on another forum.3. Checked. 4. Panel freeze 5. #@%$ Schmid

  12. Hi Guy's. I also had CTD, well it never crashed to the desktop. I was on finals to EHAM, about 5 mile out and it just locked up.Weird though I had no control over the engines, I was able to move the dials and change settings, but it just locked me in a straight lineand I was forced to land on the grass between the runways......lol This is the first time this has happened and I have also installed Hotfix 3 when it came out.I never had this issue prior to the 3rd hotfix. Andy
Andy Yesterday night I had exactly the same behaviour at touch down at a flight from SBGL-SBPA. I could hear the 'clicks' on main panel but the switches didn't move neither change anything. I could move fuel valves at center console up and down but could not cut fuel. At overhead panel the switches move but no changes at lights and so on. I'm at a point that although I love this airplane, the high quality of the graphics, sounds and lights and the responsiveness of all systems, it is unreliable on my rig due to fatal errors and freezes. And no, I don't believe it is a problem with my FSX install, as no other add-on have these problems, including JS41 and all 'systems eaters' from other developers. I hope things will be better with SP1. Regards Schmid

  13. Hi, Stephane With the 'original' NGX, without hotfixes, IVAP crashed and there was the popup screen, which alerted me to restart IVAP - which I did externally as under addon menu the IVAP option disappeared. After hotfixes, besides IVAP crash I got also a fatal error on FSX. So I have to run externally which, as you said, demands to be checking if there is no disconnection. Not so bad I run with two monitors so I can put IVAP on the other. Thank you for your input. Regards Schmid

  14. Just finished a short but successful flight from SBCF to SBVT. At this time I activated IVAP external and I got 2 crash/disconnections but it did not crash FSX. Thank you Dave for pointing the solution. I hope PMDG fix this. Cheers Schmid

  15. Good to know. Thanks Dave. I'll try this weekend in external mode as I wouldn't like to miss a whole tour leg due to a fatal error. By the way, the main difference between both modes, as far as I know, is that the internal is activated within FXS menu due to a command at dll.xml. Maybe there is a clue here for the devs, who I wish are following this thread. Best regards Schmid

  16. Ivo I'm still running a very stable FSX under XP32 so no problems with UIAutomationCore, neither UAC, Admin and other concerns we shall have with Win7. I have not a single problem with all other add-ons - and I have plenty of them. Of course I know it is time to migrate to a i7 plus Win7 but it will represent about USD 1200.00 just for a MoBo, CPU, memory sticks and OS, as I can keep my HD, GPU, power supply, etc. Anyway, I opened a ticket at support and I'll wait for some answer from devs - that I hope not to be a recommendation to upgrade my rig... Praying.gif Regards Schmid

  17. Hi. I removed and reinstalled NGX and started a small flight online (SBGL-SBGR). Daylight and cloudy. At about 5NM from top of descent I disconnected IVAP and a few seconds after this FSX froze and I got a fatal error. Could anybody please reproduce this test and see what happens? Best regards Schmid

  18. +1 As nobody reported it before I thought it was just my install/config. I'm having several IVAP crashes. Sometimes FSX also CTD after IVAP crash. I decided to remove and reinstall NGX and rebuild fsx.cfg to see if it fixes, which I'll do up to this weekend. Maybe an IVAP reinstall would help but I doubt as no other add on is causing this. By the way, maybe I'm completely wrong but I would associate the IVAP crash to the sudden change of weather. For some reason I noticed it on the last crashes. Schmid

  19. Julien I do confirm. Hotfix 2922 fixes 800WL dome light but does not change 900WL. Nothing that a 30 seconds copy/paste procedure on aircraft.cfg won't fix but I think all this rush trying to correct the problems is driving PMDG team crazy... I would like they can have enough time to take a deep breath and release the hotfixes or SP1 in a solid way. Regards Schmid

  20. Henri I've been using FSC for a few years and it works perfectly for me, but: 1. I always keep AIRAC cycles the same for all my add-ons and I monthly update them as Navigraph releases; 2. I do not insert SID/STAR/TRANSITION on FSC flightplans. As I always fly online (IVAO), I have ATC information on what procedure to use and insert it on FMC or, 3. If no ATC online, I choose according to winds. Then I can choose among those procedures offered by FSC which one is the "best" for me and insert it directly on FMC. Best regards Schmid
