  1. I am sure this has been asked before so appologies but I don't seem to be able to find what I am looking for, if it even exists:-I fly the PMDG 747 and 737PIC in FSX running SP2 and TrackIR.I have been using TileProxy to get realistic scenery, however flying these jets doesn't really lend itself to being the correct solution.I have also tried FSEarthTiles to download scenery from g%%%le but this just doesn't seem practicle to download this much scenery (UK) in one go and store this on the computer.I understand there are another couple that pull maps from G%%%le etc but not too sure what they are and if they are any good. Are there any other products that are recommended. I have seen references to FLAltitude for Europe. Is this any good? There must be a way to download from g%%%le earth and store in an efficient way.Other than FSAltitude are there any other commercially available product that will accomodate this?Let me know what your thoughts are?ThanksMark
  2. I have just started flying the PMDG 747 on FSX.One problem I am having is that I problem my MPC, FMC take off and climb to cruize alt but it always keeps speeding up and eventually reads about 405 on the tape and tells me OVERSPEED.This is basically what I am doing at the start of the runway:-1. Click Auto Throttle on2. Click Flight Director on3. Set IAS to 2504. Set Alt 330005. Set FMC as follows:-5a. Origin5b. Dest5c. Route5d. Perf Init, ZFW, Reserve 6.0, Cost Index 100, Crz Alt 330, Flaps 10, , Dept Airport and runway, V speeds6. Set flaps7. Take off8. At 1000ft, enable auto pilot, LNAV and VNAV9. Leave it to climbThis is when the speed keeps going past that recorded in the FMC. I also notice that my throttle on the joystick still affects the 747 throttle. To get around this I have to do the following:-Click FL CHGSet IAS 300Click FL CHGTurn off Auto Throttle and back onPlane then slows to MCP setting. At this point I can switch VNAV back on and it stay correct.Any ideas? Also, just out of interest what would people have their speed set to on approaches for example:-1. 10,000ft2. 5,000ft3. 2,500ft or Capturing the glide slope4. Landing speedI am doing the following at present but wondered if I was right or not:-1. 10,000ft = 250knots2. 5,000ft = 250knots3. 2,500ft = 180knots4. Landing speed = FMC approach ref, say 140knots.Let me know you thoughts.ThanksMark
  3. I am flying the 737 PIC using LNAV and VNAV. If I change altitude using Level Chg on the MCP should the FMC be altered to re-adjust the Top of Descent to take into account the new altitude? What is the correct procedure for this?ThanksMark
  4. Is there a Cessna 150 or 152 available for FSX? If so can someone provide me a link. The reason I ask I plan to have a trial lesson in a real one and want o see if I can familirise myself with it.ThanksMark
  5. I am running FSX and flying 737 PIC and Level D 767. I am turning on APP and intercepting the glide slope around 2500. This takes the plane down nicely as I slow down and put flaps and gear down to the setting in the FMC approach ref.In doing all of this I am find that I am coming into the runway lights with 2 red and 2 white, then at about 400-500 ft above the runway they start to get 3 white then 4 white indicating I am too high.At this point at am almost at the landing speed determined in the FMC approach ref so what could be causing this?Do I need to disconnect Autopilot earlier? At what point should I be at my FMC approach speed? Is this as I touch down or on the final?Any ideas as I am landing too far down the runway for comfort.ThanksMark
  6. Where does the Level-D 767 for FSX tell you how far and what time you will reach the top of descent? I would expect this to be in the FMC somewhere but can't find it. I did have it on the 737 PIC on the FMC on the PROG page but it isnt on the same page in the level-d 767.ThanksMark
  7. I am looking at purchasing a new specalised boeing model for my FSX + TrackIR installation and wondered out of the following options you guys preferred for realism, and graphical performance:-1. Wilco / FeelThere 737 Pilot in Command2. Captain Sim 7573. Level D 7674. PMDG 747I am keen on this running well using the Virtual Cockpits along with TrackIR.Let me know you preferrence.ThanksMark
