Also I've disbaled the UAC but the same problem arises. Can anyone help? Thanks,Peter Mitchell.

  4. Thank Ray for the response to 1.You're right. Number 2 didn't make sense because of the reference at the end to PMDG/FSX. Senior moment. What I meant to say was when you have a USB adaptor that splits the headphone and voice signals on headphones you can set them separately in FSX Settings - Sound. Under Windows sound drivers there are 2 drop down tabs, one for sound and one for voice. The USB adaptor allows only the RC4 ATC voices to come through the headphones and the general aircradt noise to come through the speakers.I was wondering whether anyone had the right settings for the drop down tabs to get the ATC voice only coming through the headphones.Thanks,Peter.
  5. Hi,2 newbie questions using RC 4.3. I use PMDG 747X.1. When going to Atis I get the FSX Atis speaking at the same time. I've seen somewhere there is a way to avoid this. Any ideas?2. Using headphones I have a Yoga USB adaptor to split the background mouse from ATC voices. Any suggestion as to settings for this. should I use PMDG or FSX?Many thanks,Peter,New Zealand.
  6. Hi,I use 747X, Radar Contact V4 and Flight Sim Commander 8.3 (FSC). I'm running FSX (with Acceleration) on Vista. My question has probably been asked before but I couldn't find an answer by searching this forum. My problem is that when using FSC to develop a flightplan I cannot save the flightplan as a .rt file in the FSX/PMDG/Flightplans folder so that the flightplan can be accessed by the 747x FMC. I've set up the PMDG flightplan in the FSC Windows/Options/Flight Plan tab and tick the PMDG button in FSC to save.Doesn't anyone have any suggestions? It's very frustrating because at the moment I'm have to hand enter the waypoints into the 747X FMC by hand. Many thanks,Peter Mitchell.
  7. Thanks Dan.Your answer works fine.P.S. I'll sign future posts with my real name.Peter Mitchell.
  8. Hi,I'm new to PMDG 747-400X but have made my first take off and landing following Jane Whittaker's articles in PC PILOT.Ome thing I canot get the hang of is how to install the 3 files .sav, .FLT and .WX in 747-400X. The file structute in 747-400X seems to be different from that in FS9. I'd like to install the PMDG files in FSX for the type rating courses and also the cold/dark scenario from this website:http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/but I'm stuck. I'm sure there's an easy answer so hoping someone can help me out.Thanks.
