  1. Hi fellow simmers! I`m bringing this thread up again, due to a solution i found regarding my FPS drop when moving the mouse around. Installed another 2Gb of memory and (belive it or not) kicked out XP and tried Vista (clean with deactivation of lot of processes). Works like a dream now :(
  2. Hi Gus!This problem happened from a couple of months ago (thats when i discovered it). I`m into troubleshooting right know, and I have used FS2004 from the beginning. Yes I thought it must be something regarding my driver updates or OS updates, since it was no problem previous (or I did not notice it???). The strange thing is that I did a fresh basic XP install with just SP2, and a clean FS9 install. You cant get this "moving-mouse-in-3d-cockpit-stutter" with default aircrafts so i put in wilco and pmdg and there it was again. mmmm strange stuff.
  3. Hi Leo!Yes, I have read about that when i did some googling, but I have no mouse shadows (or any) enabled.
  4. Tried your tip with a small 2d window, and it seems to "work" here as well. When the mouse is over the little 2d panel everything is fine, and when moving the mouse around there is still some stuttering but it comes to an end much faster now. Guess we`ll have to speculate a little more to find som permanent solution (if there is any...) :(
  5. I also get this stutter when I`m in 3d cockpit in aircrafts like wilco and pmdg, and when I`m near airports. When at 30000 feet it`s not noticeable when I`m panning around the cockpit. I`m not using any Saitek hardware, only CH. Tried a little program called "USBRate.exe" (USB sample rate application) to check and change the polling rate. Default is 125, but i tried both 250 and 500 with no result regarding our issues.
  6. Ok, I see. I suspect that many simmers have this issue as well, but they just dont know about it. It comes clearly visible when you have a supersmooth system. The reason that I have the FPS slider at unlocked is for the track IR smoothness, as i almost always uses 3d cockpit. I will try some more troubleshooting regarding this issue in a few hours, so we`ll see :( A r v i d
  7. Thanks for your reply Mark!Tried your tips, but same issue occurs. Have a minimal of services running on my flightsim rig (only 19). Did a full reformat on both disk, and installed a clean XP. From there i took a FS9 install and installed both PMDG and Wilco 737`s, and then started up on default Seattle. Same issue here as well. Smooth running FPS, but when I`m in 3d cockpit and hit the mouse, the quite annoyng stuttering occurs. This tells me there must be something weird with my hardware. The only thing I havent tried though, is a PS2 mouse. Tried different cord/cordless USB mouses, but no luck. Maybe I must check my eyes as well :( I have put back my image-file now, and I will try some further troubleshooting tonight :( A r v i d
  8. Thank for your reply. Yes, I have tried that as well, but no good. Strange really, because I have such a smooth sim otherwise, but when using 3d cockpit (as I always do due to track IR), i run into stuttering when moving the mouse around. When the mouse cursor disappear after a few seconds (normal), the stutter is gone as well. I guess there will be some more troubleshooting tonight :( A r v i d
  9. HiThanks for your reply. Tried that as well, but no good. Tried with new and older Nvidia drivers, but still the same stuttering when moving my mouse cursor in 3d cockpit. mmmmmm strange stuff :( A r v i d
  10. Hi all!I`ve got a really strange problem with my sim. I have a dedicated flightsim PC with XP on C-disk and FS2004 on D-disk with a lot of addons. In addition I have a Acronis image of that setup on an external disk (just in case scr.. up). I fly around with very high and smooth FPS (50-60) with slider locked at unlimited. I also do regular defrag using UD 2008.The problem I have is when I move the mouse (cursor comes visible) in 3d cockpit, the FPS drops and stutter occurs while the cursor is visible. When i dont touch it, it stays normal high and smooth. It occurs only in 3d cockpit with aircraft like wilco 737, pmdg 737 and 747. Not on small aircrafts or default ones. I is quite annoying.Regarding troubleshooting, I have disconnected my cordless mouse and keyboard. Tried with a cord mouse (after cleaned up the drivers), but with same annoying stutter when moving the mouse in 3d cockpit. Also I have tried the mouse options in the control panel, but with same result.Anyone who have the slightest clue what can cause this? A r v i dMy setup is:CPU - E6850 3,8 GHz (OC)GPU - XFX 8800GTXMem - 4 Gb (3,25 utilized)OS disk - 75 Gb raptorFS disk - 150 Gb spinpoint
  11. Hi there!Got a smooth FS9 sim with lot of addons, and everything is performing very well except this:When using CH Pro pedals for braking i get some 5-8 sec of stuttering. When releasing the brakes its getting back to normal again. The sim is running very smooth with 40-60 FPS, but when using the brakes its is getting down to 20-30, but its the stuttering which is quite irritiating. Anybody who knows what can cause this?A r v i d
  12. Well, like it or not! Whatever this DX10-###### is, it did 1 ting for me: Fs9 boost big time. Try it yourself, or just forget about it Arvid
  13. Well, I couldnt help it. Since I got all my FS9 stuff on a complete image file (after years with lessons learned), I decided to give it a shot (based on a thread in Flightsim.no regarding DX10). I have a pretty good setup with FS9 on its own XP-computer with tons of addons, and had 40-50 fps when lined up at Oslo Airport with Wilco 737 (3d cockpit/track IR and a good portion of AI). After DX10 installation I have 60-70 FPS at the same spot (panning around with track IR smoothly as well). I couldnt belive my eyes. After a couple of days now I have been testing this with all my addons and I am not able to find any flaws what so ever! :( Arvid
  14. Use "Filemon" and see what the computer are doing when the frames are dropping. Could be very useful to determine what is going on during the frame-drop periodes.A r v i d
