  1. As the 737-200 (obviously, due to its age) neither had a FMC nor any modern graphical displays, it should be comparable to the 727, which had esp. a well-modelled electrical system. I guess it will also be prepared for the CIVA-INS, like the 727 was.

Sounds good to me. I guess this new 732 add-on could share some code/graphics from his 727 product, which is certainly not a bad thing. Looking forward to it.

  2. I do all of my X-plane simming these days on a MSI GT70-20D Gaming laptop. I have always built desktop PC's in the past (specifically for flight simming) so was very hesitant buying an off-the-shelf PC, which I haven't done for many, many years. But after the wife and I had our little boy, gone were the days that I could shut myself in my man-cave and flight sim for a couple of hours while the wife was away with friends, I had to be mobile somehow (so I was free to change nappies at a moments notice  ) So here I am with a laptop (not sure why they call it that with the size of them these days) and I've been very pleasantly surprised by the performance of X-plane 10 on it, or any other game for that matter, or any programme to be fair. I'm not saying it could fully replace a desktop PC, given the cost per performance ratio, you could build a PC for the fraction of the price to be honest, but I'm very surprised how well it holds up for flight simming. DCS World works great too. Unfortunately though, cpu-bound FSX doesn't perform so great, which is real shame with all my add-ons etc. Kind of new that was going to be the case though.

  3. Isopropyl doesn't have any lubricant in it so I'm not surprised they stopped working so quickly, good contact cleaner also has a very light lubricant that will stop the tracks wearing too quickly. It cant do anything about poor atmospheric conditions though :) Like I said 4 months of almost daily use here and they are still working as good as new.

Thanks for the advice Andy. Didnt think about the lack of lubricant. I have some VCR head cleaner lying around, it doesn't work on my DVD player ;) would something like that be more useful?

    Cheers

  4. Thanks for the info Flo. I have a MSI GT70 20D 'gaming laptop' with a GTX780M graphics card. Unfortunately I don't see the 'adaptive' option only 'ON' and 'OFF'. I searched for a reason why and it is apparently down to MSI having their own version of the Nvidia driver (or something like that) which based on an older driver. I have had issues with updating driver versions before where I was stuck with 304.490 driver until MSI finally decided to update to the latest version.

Oh well. Thanks for the help though.

  5. Thanks flo and Ian for your suggestions. I still seem to be having screen tearing despite changing Nvidia Inspector to 'standard' and 1/2 refresh rate and then 'do not lock' within XP.

@Ian, i'm unfamiliar with Nvidia Inspector, do I have to do anything with the X-plane profile after pressing 'apply' key once I changed to the setting you mentioned?

@Flo, just wondering where 1/2 refresh rate is on Nvidia Control Panel? I see an option for VSync On but thats about it.

    Thanks for the help both.

  6. Thank you, I fixed it:)

Hi, I have this problem, tried the same thing with forcing Nvidia software to vsync (which mostly does the trick in other software) but i still get tearing.

Could you point me in the right direction please and tell me how you fixed your tearing issue?

    Thanks

  7. Yes it is correct. It's probably the single most requested feature. However, AVSIM will soon make an interview to X-Plane developers ( http://forum.avsim.net/topic/427919-questions-for-laminar-research-users-invited/ ), so we will probably hear what are developer's plans about that.

Personally, while I see where other simmers are coming from with XP lacking seasons and I feel it's something worthwhile to pursue, if LR do add this feature I hope it can retain the 'instant' dynamic time duration without having to load scenery. Pressing shift K & shift L and watching the time of day whizz forwards and backwards always impresses people when I show them. It's a very unique feature that I fear would be lost if we had seasons and had to re-load new textures each time we wanted to jump from winter to autumn.
