  1. Thanks Rush for the welcome. Yeah, I actually thought a bit deeper into it after my post. I guess it would be very possible to have, say the vegetation coverage for the entire world (lo res or hi), and take out the airports, cities, roads, etc. That way you could still fly from point A to point B without having a "black hole" to fly through. I'm by far any kind of programmer and I suppose their are so many options MS can implement that I, along with everyone else, will just have to wait and see. Sorry dburne, almost missed your post. Thanks for the warm welcome. I actually meant to put a "no offense to TN or KY" in my initial post but I figured I had rambled on enough. Didn't want to bore anyone too bad. Anyway, I have nothing against either one. I actually lived in TN about 3 years ago (lived there for 6 1/2) and I've done enough work in KY that I might as well have setup household there too.I'm still tinkering with Flight. I don't have the addon pack yet but I do play it on and off. It runs fantastically on my machine and the graphics and sounds are amazing. Like others, I do miss things like ATC, AI aircraft, full navigation, real weather, etc. but I'm sure they will come at some point. OK, I'll quit rambling so I don't keep falling off topic.
  2. Hi all. First, let me say that I am new to these forums. I've been simming for many years but I usually just read the forums and follow along with the topics of interest. Anyway, I've been reading this post and thought I'd throw my two cents in about the cost of DLC for Flight that has me wondering. If MS introduces scenery, say one state at a time for the U.S. (and this is just hypothetical) and I enjoy departing from Miami, Florida but I want to fly to Chicago, Illinois I'm guessing I would have to purchase at least one state that connects, or else I will be flying in a huge black hole between Florida and Illinois. I usually don't like to speculate on anything related to software because I'm usually so far off it just doesn't pay to torture myself wondering but surely MS would release the scenery as regions, countries, or based on square mileage. Otherwise, I'd have to buy 5 states, and going off the price of the current add-on pack (need some kind of number), that would $100.00 (yeah, i know, tough math). Now, I personally wouldn't mind paying $100.00 for North America but if I don't particularly enjoy, say Tennessee or Kentucky, I would be paying $100.00 for areas I really don't enjoy flying. In other words, this kinda kills the idea of "you pay for what you want". I'm actually excited to see how this plays out.On another note, as for aircraft, that to me is much easier to pick and choose. I personally enjoy the big jets but I do also enjoy the slower single props for just enjoying the scenery. Here I would feel that I could just purchase which ever of these I wanted, so I don't mind having to make this purchase, as long as it is reasonable. Anyway, at the moment I don't play Flight too much because of the limited DLC and features but I see a lot of potential and will be keeping my eye on the Marketplace.
