  1. I can't install Flight. I keep getting a code: 8007000D error in XP. I've re-downloaded it 3 times. This is really killing some of my excitement.
  2. Yes, I know that the default flight is KSEA. However, I knew the problem occured at KLDJ, but not only KLDJ, from past installs, so I use that as my test airport to keep things consistant. John, thanks so much for the list of files, that really helped me out. I have been able, in the last few days to install the update manually, without the installer, and everything seems to be fine so far. I can't explain any of it, unless there is something in the installer that MY pc doesn't like. Anyway, for the time being, I have my simulator back!!!! Thanks to all for trying to help me out of this, I do really appreciate it!
  3. This problem occurs with no addons installed. FS9 runs and loads the flights fine before the update, hangs after installing it. And this is using the same airport KLDJ, same plane(default Cessna), and the same time and season for all the tests. I did delete the FS9 folder that fs9.cfg resides in each time. Is there another place where FS puts files?
  4. OK, the heart of the problem is that FS9 stops responding(according to windows task manager) while loading a flight, and then after sometimes as long as 10 minutes, continues loading and everything is fine. When it first started happening I thought I just loaded a bad addon, so my plan was to uninstall FS9 and start over loading 1 addon at a time so I could isolate the problem. However, with a fresh install of FS9, the problem was still there. I tried cleaning the registry manually and with automatic cleaners like Wise and Tune-up Utilities but that didn't help either. The next step was to format my drives and really start over. So now I have a fresh format, fresh WinXP (with all service packs and updates installed), and another fresh FS9 install. After testing FS9 on the fresh system, everything was perfect. I loaded the 9.1 update(and I did follow the instructions on the Microsoft site) and the problem returned. I tried unistalling the update and then FS9 to try again, but the problem remained after loading only FS9. I have 3 160 gig drives and 1 of then is dedicated to flight sim. I tried formatting only the flight sim drive, but after a fresh FS9 install the problem was still there. This is why I think it's a registry problem. So once again I formatted the whole system and reinstalled WinXP. I now have FS9 running without the update and FSGenesis, UT, Ground Env Pro, REX, and some Megascenery with no problem. I don't know why it's happening, but it definitely occurs after the 9.1 install, and I have made it happen repeatedly. That's my story and I'm sticking with it! Thanks so much for trying to help, this has been a thorn in my side for months now. All I want to do is fly.
  5. It has something to do with my registry. I have done a fresh install of Winxp and then FS9. No problems. Load the update and the "not responding" problem comes back when loading a flight. If I uninstall the update and then FS9, then reload FS9, the problem is still there. I have replicated this more than once at this point. I tried cleaning with Wise Registry Cleaner and then manually with regedit, but I missed whatever is causing the glitch. So right now FS9 is working great and I am not putting that patch in. I read that "bridges_2.zip" is all of the bridges from the update but the file doesn't seem to be available anymore. My 2nd option, like you said, is to load FS9 on another machine with the update and extract the .bgl's. I appreciate the help!
  6. Thanks. Do you know if these .bgl's position the bridges, or are just the objects? I can't load the update because it causes crashes on my machine. I want to try to add the bridges without the rest of the update.
  7. Does anyone have a list of the .bgl's that the FS9.1 update changes, adds, or replaces?
  8. At this point, I have my "core" of FsGenesis, Ground Env Pro, UT, and REX installed without the 9.1 update and everything is still running great and fast. Before my last reformat, 9.0 ran perfect, I installed 9.1 and the "glitch" came back. I use Vipre for my antivirus, and that is a great suggestion, but I'm running better now with more installed than I was 3 days ago and the antivirus was active for all of it.
  9. The problem I had was the 9.1 update. However, uninstalling and reinstalling will not fix the problem. I had to do a fresh WinXP install.
  10. I think I figured it out. I did another fresh install of WinXP. Then a fresh FS9 install. Nothing else. The problem IS the 9.1 update. Uninstalling the update and cleaning the registry (both manually and with Wise Cleaner) didn't clear it from the registry. The nightmare is over, I hope. Now I have to install a mountain of addons! Does anyone know af a way to get the bridge updates that are in 9.1 without the update?
  11. After a fresh winXP install and a fresh FS9 install, the problem seems to be the 9.1 update. However, like before, once the problem starts happening I can't get rid of it even by uninstalling and reinstalling FS9. I don't have time to keep reformatting my drives. If someone else is having this same problem, I beg you to help. I can't wait 15 to 20 minutes for a flight to load..........
  12. My system never did this before a few months ago even with a TON of addons installed. I don't know what I changed and I thought it would go away with a freshly wiped system. I am exploring the CCC driver direction right now.
  13. This problem is driving me nuts. It started a few months ago and I was hoping it would be a registry problem. I have wiped my whole system clean, freshly installed WinXP Pro, and installed Fs2004 new. No addons have been installed yet. After pressing Fly Now, the loading bar appears but FS9 hangs up. Windows task manager shows FS9 not responding, then after 20 or 30 seconds it recovers and the flight loads. I am running an AMD system with 4gig of ram and an ATI 1950 Pro video card. Could this be a CCC problem? Please help. I need to fly and am going thru withdrawls!
  14. I am having this same problem. Has anyone solved this one yet? I have wiped clean and done a fresh install, only loaded 1/3 of my addons, and this not responding thing is driving me nuts.
