  1. graphics cards for FSX is a difficult one. The 670/680 will technically have plenty of power for fsx, however alot of cards dont work as you think they should. FSX seems to be a very driver dependant program - some weak cards with good drivers will outperform very powerful cards with poor drivers. The best way to find out i guess would be to wait and see what other people are running and how they are finding it. Currently I use a 6950 and ive had very few problems with it. Wait for some more replies before making a choice. Adam
  2. Hi, when passing through 10,000ft the first officer will turn off the fasten seatbelt sign. I was wondering if there is an option to maybe disable this? Sometimes when climbing we are in dense cloud with strong turbulence but he will still turn off the fasten seatbelt sign as per his flows. It distracts from the immersion to have to turn it back on, though it is obviously only a minor thing. Cheers, Adam
  3. Maybe its just me but i struggle to see the point in it. I think that your awareness should be done by properly following the charts for most airports, and that you should know you're performing a deep landing without someone telling you haha anyway each to their own, Adam
  4. right so i found the speaker button under VVL and that works perfectly - thanks for that tip can i ask then what does the SKPR button actually do ? is it programmed to do something or just an animation? Judging from the rest of the systems on this aircraft i doubt the latter! Cheers Adam
  5. do you fly on vatsim using fsinn? if so you can find it in the fsinn settings - if not let you know what youre using and ill try to talk you through it
  6. Hi, I currently have my sounds set up so that Communications play through my headset whereas environment sounds (engines/ switches etc) play through my speakers. I was wondering if it is possible to play voice communications through the speakers when the SPKR button is pressed on the radio panel. The reason I ask is that sometimes people like to watch a flight, and I would like them to be able to hear ATC as well as the aircraft. I was thinking that when a person is watching I could press the speaker button, and vatsim atc would play through the speakers, as well as through my headset. I understand this is probably a ridiculous request but its worth a shot! Regards, Adam
  7. Thanks for the replies, i was going to point out that i didnt think the NGX was to blame, I was hoping that some experienced eyes here might know what was up. Thanks again
  8. Hi and thanks for taking time to read this post. Im having problems with crashes (not due to my bad flying!!) I will post here the error that comes up, hopefully someone will recognise the problem or at least be able to point me in the right direction. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC000014B): Exception from HRESULT: 0xC000014B at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.SimConnect.ReceiveDispatch(SignalProcDelegate pfcnSignal) at Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.SimConnect.ReceiveMessage() at rexwxengine2.controls.ucLoadAircraftLocation.DefWndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.UserControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5448 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- rexwxengine2 Assembly Version: 2.5.2010.38549 Win32 Version: 2.5.2010.1027 CodeBase: file:///E:/Program%20Files/REX/rexwxengine2.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5446 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5453 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5458 (Win7SP1GDR.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- Accessibility Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4927 (NetFXspW7.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Accessibility/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Accessibility.dll ---------------------------------------- Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect Assembly Version: 10.0.61259.0 Win32 Version: 10.0.61637.0 (FSX-Xpack.20070926-1421) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_32/Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect/10.0.61259.0__31bf3856ad364e35/Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll ---------------------------------------- msvcm80 Assembly Version: 8.0.50727.6195 Win32 Version: 8.00.50727.6195 CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/WinSxS/x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a/msvcm80.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5420 (Win7SP1.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5420 (Win7SP1.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Configuration/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Configuration.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Data Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.5420 (Win7SP1.050727-5400) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_32/System.Data/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Data.dll ---------------------------------------- Thanks again!
  9. ah great that it what i wanted to hear. I was assuming to hear a warning that i was doing something majorly wrong but im glad im going through the procedures correctly
  10. So it would be typical to hear this warning or am i doing the missed approach incorrectly
  11. Hi,I am on on final approach with flaps full and speed about 140 knots. I decide to go around and so increase power and pitch the nose up while selecting flaps 20. when i have positive rate of climb and i lift gear up but as the flaps are still retracting i will receive a gear warning sound. Is this warning typical or to be expecting during a go around?Thanks,Adam Roberts
  12. Well i know on FSX from the top menu there is an option called 'Reset flight' as far as im aware that will completely reset the flight where you specified at the start, and also resets the FMCIs there a similar option in fs2004?
  13. Are you using FSX or FS2004? Cheers
  14. I have noticed that in the PMDG options while in FSX, there are options for performance tuning, and specifically the Virtual Cockpit.I am curious as to what this option changes, as when i move it from full low, to full high, i notice very little change in quality and also very little impact on performance.I have also noticed that if I run FSX using only two cores, I get better performance than when i'm using all 4. I find this to be a little bizarre and hope you can shed some light on both of these things. :( Cheers,
