  1. A big THANK YOU to each of you for your very helpful suggestions and tips. This will really help me make some informed decisions.Cheers everyone :-)
  2. thanks for the info Rockcliffe - however when I went to the website for My Traffic X, it says it is for FSX - I am using FS9 - is it compatible also with FS9 then?
  3. I've just returned to using my FS9 after a couple of years. I've had to reinstall the program due to now using an iMac. I've installed Windows 7 using bootcamp, which runs fine. However, I need some advice please guys:1) The best weather generation program available for FS9 - along with a download link??2) The best AI traffic program (which also allows for creation of user defined airlines/traffic) - along with a download link??Thanks for any advice!
  4. Thanks Jeff (moss1)......I wasn't aware of the issue with the graphics card. I do have an ATI card in my iMac. I will have to research this in more detail as I'm not familiar with installing and downloading drivers in Mac OS X. Whenever I've done this on a pc - it's always gone pear-shaped on me! Makes me a bit nervous. When you have a minute, if you can point me to a website/forum that might offer tips on this process, I would be most grateful! Thanks again.
  5. Whoops! One more question! When I run bootcamp, how many Gb of space should I dedicate to the installation of Windows 7, and also allowing for enough for FS9 and any other add ons etc.I have 1Tb drive on my Mac, so would 400Gb be enough? Finder is reporting that I currently have 870Gb of free space...tks again guys...
  6. Thanks guys for the info. Thank you too, Thralni for your very comprehensive and helpful post. These forums are great!I am going to install the 64 bit version, and then start downloading all my add-ons again. I may be gone some time!!Cheers everyone :-)
  7. HI - I'm about to purchase a copy of Windows 7. Should I buy the 64 bit or 32 bit?Or does it not matter? Thanks for any further advice!
  8. Thanks very much for your helpful and interesting answer. I will give it a go and buy a copy of windows 7. I just hope my yoke will work on the iMac too. Cheers!
  9. I migrated to iMac 27 3.2ghz back in November and I'm really missing my FS9! Does anyone have experience using it as I describe in the title? This is what I would like to do, but I'm worried about F.P.S. and also about any possible overheating problems. Thanks for any tips/advice!
  10. Thanks for that - why do I need an extra power cable? Does the card not already come with that?
  11. Thanks to you both. How should I tweak fs9.cfg? What needs to be tampered with? Also why the 8800? My present card already has 512Mb memory. Is there enough of a difference to warrant the extra
  12. My PC is almost 3 years old (Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz) with 3Gb Ram, running XP SP3. I currently have Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX with 512Mb mem, which is ok provided I don't stress it too much.My question is this:I want to get back into FS9 as I have just received Satek yoke & pedals for my birthday. If I upgrade the graphics card to Nvidia GeForce GTX285, am I going to notice much difference (especially with a lot of AI running). Don't really want to shell out loads of money only to find there is no improvement. Thanks for any advice! :(
