  1. As Dave mentioned in a earlier reply, I am regularly on our voice server and will happliy offer any asistance I can, in terms of the issue you mentioned:

'HDG' and 'ALT' buttons illuminated and the aircraft is in straight and level flight and will follow the heading bug.

To start an ascent, I select the desired altitude with the 'ALT SEL' knob, then I turn off the 'ALT' button and increase the throttles to climb. Using the 'NOSE UP' trim wheel I set the desired vertical speed.

The aircraft starts to climb but always levels off just short of the desired altitude (sometimes by as much as 500ft) and the 'ALT' button does not illuminate!

At the current time, the only thing's I can think of is the known issue with the VATSIM Wx, can you tell me if you are using any version of Active Sky or are you just using the VATSIM upload through a program such as FSinn? Other than that the other thing could be a issue with weight and the opt crz altitude

I will be on the server most of the day today and will think of anything else that could cause this issue.

  2. What we call these routing options are "Non Standard Tracks", these are used mainly for several reasons:

1: The jet-stream winds (Blowing from the US to Europe) would be strong enough to warrant a non standard track that would save time and/or fuel.

2: The company or flight crew feel that due to traffic (remember, the NAT system is like a rail road system with each leg between the Co-ordinates acting as blocks, at each         altitude only a set number of aircraft may enter a block at intervals, report leaving a block before another number or aircraft will be allowed to enter the block) or airspace         restrictions at any time during the flight, use of a standard NAT would mean a diversion off route or delay on departure or arrival which would cause longer delays.

3: The route of a non standard track may be the best viable option for any possible weather avoidance, if you can avoid heavy turbulence or icing conditions at your planned       altitude before departure, a re-routing may be a safer option.

4: Arrival times, these are heavily restricted at major airports at peak times due to gate/stand availabilities, a slightly longer route may be required if the planned ETA is (within     a certain time restriction) earlier than planned, the only other option beside this is if two flights operate the same route and the company aircraft is slightly delayed, they can     swap the aircraft callsign to the flight number that is expected to arrive earlier, but this can only be done if both aircraft are on the ground and with Dispatch & ATC                   approval.

There are other reasons that flights may operate on a non standard track, but these tend to be the most common

  3. Hey guys,

So I installed SP1B last night, then shut the computer down before heading to bed. Came back home today, booted up FSx and when I am loaded up in the aircraft the ADDON's tab at the top has gone missing. Nothing else has been installed, changed removed ect...  Any Ideas would be appriciated

    Cheers

  4. Thanks for the reply's here.

I have 2 options for taxiing, both of which have the same issue, I have my Saitek rudder pedals or I use a joystick which I have modified into a steering tiller (this is what I normally use on every other aircraft I own without issue) I have tried calibrating both of these several time to no avail, tried the Null Zone as well with no luck. Any other options? (All controls are routed through FSUIPC due to the steering tiller.)

  5. I have tried 10+ flights in this aircraft now, and while I have not encountered any issues in the air, getting to and from the runway itself is a complete nightmare! Every time I try to taxi the aircraft will either pull full left of full right with full rudder deflection. I know this isnt due to the weather in FSx and it always results in me having to slam on the brakes and put the rudders full left and right a few time before it will center, then it happens all over again within a few seconds, Any knowledge on a resolution for this would be great.

    Thanks.

  6. I am trying to re-install my PMDG 747 for FSx after a Windows re-install. I have used this before when FSx was installed to the default Directory (C\Program file(x86 ect.....), but I have now moved FSx into its own commited hard drive. I have currently installed a mass variation of add-ons with no issue what-so-ever, but the 747 seems to be stumed. After the Valiadtion page it pops up a message with the following statement "The installation cannot continue. You do not have Flight Simulator installed." (which I clearly do) I have tried running a registry repair (including the F1 tool) and a registry cleanup! Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Many Thanks
