  1. Problem with upgrading from the i7 8xx series to an i7 9xx series is that you also have to change the whole motherboard with it. Going to be a little bit pricy in my opinion. But you can wait for the i7 990x, when that one comes out i guess the 980x is declared end of life at once by intel so the price might drop a considerable amount. Since the shops that still have need to get rid of it anyway, and just throwing them out is a waste of money.
  2. I think you are looking at the SATA600 drives from WD but you have to verify that with the company you are ordering. They indeed are expensive but if you look around for reviews you will find they completely leave behind the normal disks in terms of speed and acces time's during the tests. Wich is of course not an proper indication of what they are doing during normal use but i guess you can expect sort of the same. It doesn't beat an SSD though.Only thing you have to look for if you are going to buy them is that your motherboard must be able to use them at that speed. Wich means that your motherboard must have an SATA600 connector. Take care with that though. A couple of motherboards do have them but when you use them the transferspeed of your videocard slot is halved.
  3. Am i understanding right your pc is crashing sort of randomly? Sometime's it goes for hours and sometimes it only takes 5 mins, but always when you are doing something intensive on it, never when just using windows/word/internet explorer or things like that? Have you checked that your memory is not broken? I had the same problem when i build my current pc, i had to return most parts to the store, they sent everything back but i got new ram and since then it doens't occur anymore.Hope you can solve your problem,Wouter
