HiFly's post in Another ASN Freeze issue was marked as the answerI think I found the problem. I had malware that was somehow interfering with everything. An intensive run of my AV found it and took care of it. Now everything on the computer seems to be running smoother and faster.
Reflew my NGX flight with ASN heavy weather at both departure and destination and monitored the VAS available thru FSUIPC while inflight. ASN appeared to use and then restore unused VAS properly during the flight. Never got below 2.3 G available and this time NO LOCKUPS.
As far as I can tell I am pleased to report that ASN was not the culprit. It must have been the malware. I expect everything to work properly on a long ConcordeX flight also.

HiFly's post in Air Sys Failure--Help! was marked as the answer@ Rich:
What I finally discovered is that I was interpreting the FCOM wrongly. When you press the ANNUN TEST it is going to go through an entire long procedure that may last a couple of minutes. You can view it on the Air Synoptic but do not turn off the test or you get that unrecoverable failure. Once you get "air sys failure" you may as well shut down because it seems it can no longer be cleared. You have broken one of the manifolds.
Procedure is to activate the test then go to the SD AIR and just let it continue to announce "overspeed" as it works through the 3 pages. I have been clicking the "air" button on the SD each time the diagnostic says to press to continue and it then goes to the next page. The air supply WILL shut off for about a minute during the second part of the test. Do not interrupt it. When the test is finished you will hear it all come back on and much of the diagnostic diagram will clear. I know when it is done when 1) I hear the air come back on; and 2) when the synoptic no longer prompts me to continue to the next page (it has 3 pages of display). I then deactivate the test on the overhead.
Try it that way and see if it works successfully for you.

HiFly's post in Disengaging Autobrakes after landing issue was marked as the answerI think I have found a possible solution to this continuous brake issue: I have always paused the simulation as soon as I bring the reversers to idle but while still operating autobraking on the runway. I then save the flight and replay the last 100 seconds of the landing and touchdown to critique myself. You know us old pilots, our egos are all tied up in our landing technique! LOL
Anyway, this time I reflew the last portion of the flight and did not pause until I was stopped on the exit and everything (brakes included) performed according to the numbers. Must be something about the pausing while autobrakes are still on that messes up this particular simulation. Never had a problem with any other complex simulation. I hope that my success was indicative that this is the solution rather than just a fluke. Anyone else experienced a similar correlation?
I thank all of you for your help and advise. I am off to try another landing to verify my results.
