  1. Hello,My name is Alex Kolb, and I represent the AGVA group. We're currently developing our second(!) virtual airline, which focuses on the A319/A320 aircraft. Currently our plans don't allow for the integration of a full flight training programme, but we'd like to be able to direct our pilots to an external school (perhaps even seek a partnership) that could provide A32x serries training.Could somebody direct me to a virtual flight school that could provide this? Thanks,Alex Kolb
  2. Hello, my name is Alex Kolb and I represent the AGVA group, which has brought you Air-Glaciers Virtual. Members of the AGVA development group and myself are looking to bring a new virtual airline to Switzerland, simulating European-based flight operations. As it had such a great impact on how we developed Air-Glaciers Virtual, we've decided once again to ask the community their opinion on certain aspects of our VA-in-progress.If you would please answer these questions, it would be very much appreciated.#1: How do you feel about an airline that would only operate one aircraft series (the A319 and A320)? Does it offer too limited a selection, or could it provide for a stronger community regarding interest in a certain aircraft?#2: Regardless of your answer to question one, are there any other aircraft in the A32x service range that you would like to see included in a VA?#3: (Assuming a departure airport of LSZH) What are some Western-European destinations that you would like to see?Thank you for your time,Alex KolbAssistant-Director, AGVA
  3. I appreciate your insight. You are correct that this function can't be found in the .cfg, which is what I've been primarily modifying so-far. I'm still looking for the gauge files, but I'll let you know when I find them.Just to clarify, is this an offer of help or a confirmation that indeed modifying these files would be a violation of Wilco's rights? I appreciate the input either way, I really don't want to step on any toes with these modifications.
  4. Perhaps recoding was the wrong term. I am simply looking to add extensions to the coding in intentionally easy-to-access files (such as the .cfg), something that has been done by hundreds of people here on AVSIM, many who directly uploaded the modified files. No hacking is involved. I could link to specific examples if you'd like, but I think my point is clear.
  5. As I said on flightsim.com, I am not selling or distributing any original Wilco files, nor am I selling a guide to the modifications, nor distributing any modifications for that matter. People do these modifications in the ways of soundsets, panel updates, etc, and what I'm doing is really the same.
  6. Hello,Since it looks like Airsimmer is gone, I decided to begin some heavy modifications on the Wilco A32x to bring it up to par. I've taken care of everything from autotrim to sounds thus far, but now I have two problems which I need more hardcore coders to look into. After fixing these problems, I will be releasing a guide to my updates, which means that your help would be helping everybody who owns the Wilco A32x serries. The problems are broken down below.1. APU Startup Timesa. The APU flap on the Wilco product opens immediatley after hitting the APU master switch. In the real aircraft it takes 20 seconds for it to open. Here I only need to create a delay. Since there is NO indication of the flap's progress as it opens, nor any 3d model of the flap on the aircraft exterior, I do NOT need to extend the process of the APU flap opening, I simply need to add a 20 second delay before it opens instantly as normal.b. The APU start sequence on the real aircraft takes 50 seconds on average, while the Wilco has it happen in 12. This time I need to extend the process, since the startup is indicated. I just need to slow down how long it takes to start to be at 50 seconds, and have the ECAM reflect this. I've muted all APU sounds (they can't be heard from the cockpit), so no concern with the sounds not matching.2. Avionics Cooling FansA major sound missing from the Wilco is the avionics cooling fans, which run whenever the aircraft is under power. I have three sounds (startup, run, and shutdown, just like the APU), which need to play as appropriate when the aircraft is under APU or Ext power. I don't think this should be too hard, since the aircraft already has to keep track of the power to decide when to display the autopilot digits (I'm not saying gauges, since these won't display unless BAT 1+2 are on). I just need to add a sound to this aspect.Any help is appreciated, and I hope that I will soon be able to release a modification guide that will help many people. Thanks!
  7. Sorry when I first posted I missed the two responses with code.To both of you, THANK YOU SO MUCH! This has really been helpful for me seeing this, and I feel much more confident approaching gauge design now. Thanks very much for this great start! I'm really pleased to see how helpful people are at AVSIM.
  8. Thanks for your response!I'd like to start with XML for the moment.
  9. I'd really like to learn how to make gauges, but I have no idea. So I decided I'd start out with something that looks kind of simple, but also is something I need.http://fp.images.autos.msn.com/Media/220x1...0284316D172.jpgALL of it is pretty much a button, rather than having some specific section, so I assume this will make it easier (correct me if I'm wrong). It's not a two position switch, only the light on the top changes.I'm good at graphic design, so I can "create" this gauge, but I can't make it functional.I really have no idea at all how to code a gauge like this though, just a lot of ambition. I've tried looking arround for up-to-date tutorials for coding gauges for FSX/FS9 (I can't see compatibility being an issue with this simple a gauge with no numeric readout or dynamic principles), but I can't find any.If anybody could either link me to a good coding gauges tutorial that would be appropriate for my lack of skill and also this simple gauges, or if none such thing exists offer a bit of personal experience to help me out, that would be really appreciated!
  10. My friend and I, both ES350 drivers, would really like to see the Lexus ES350 2010 model in FS(X, if it matters).Unfortunatley, neither of us knows the first thing about designing an aircraft, and would rather enjoy the model rather than learning how to make one.If any modeler here has some free time and might be willing to fill our request, I'm sure it would not only benifit my friend and I, but many other flight-simmers interested in a high quality luxury car for FS.We were hoping to see atleast semi-realistic results as far as dynamics go, especially considering how wide-spread auto performance information is. The interior colours would have to be nothing more than the always-available "Light Gray Leather Trim with Espresso Bird's-Eye Maple Accent" for some compatible exterior colours, and the "Black Leather Trim with Espresso Bird's-Eye Maple Accent" for the exterior colours not compatible with the other one. We'd like to see ALL exterior colours, with the appropriate selection of one of the two interiors based on colour.Opening windows/doors/moonroof/trunk/hood would be nice, but we don't want to set too high of standards.Sounds not required, but would be nice (it would save us the time of having to record our own).Pictures of interior/exterior, dimensions, colours with examples, and other important information can be found at http://www.lexus.com/models/ES/.If you are interested in taking on this amazing project, post here or contact me at akakolbman(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!
  11. I'm working on a huge project at the moment, one that I've been dedicated to for nearly half a year. Unfortunatley, the bit of the project I'm working on now requires an understanding of locations in several different airports, which I am unable to do, as I don't have my simulator with me. So I'm interested to see if anybody here would like a chance to help out a bit. Please contact me if you have any of the following and are interested: -Default Sion airport in FSX OR FS9 -Sion X for FSX OR Sion 2005 for FS9 -Default Gstaad (Saanen) for FSX OR FS9 -Saanen from Small Airfields Switzerland Vol 6 The project I'm working on will be complete FREEWARE, with all work put into it going right into the community. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Air-Glaciers VA, a Swiss based small prop and helicopter virtual organization, is looking to discuss partnership with any related VAs that may have an interest. We're still about a month or so from release, however from what we have to show so far, I'm sure you'll find it a strong project with a lot of potential. We invite any other organizations who has interest in this offer to speak with us in more details. You can reach me at my personal email at akakolbman(at)gmail(dot)com, as our website email is not yet operational. Thanks very much!
  13. I'm working now on a small project, and at the moment the main focus is the soundset.I've got most of it down, except for with my APU run sound, it's terribly obvious that it's just a single sound being looped over.Is there any way to smoothly transition a looping sound so as to remove the jagged pause? Thanks!
  14. I'm looking for a good (freeware or payware) HUD that could be used for Airbus (A32X, A330, A340) aircraft. It doesn't have to be an exact replica, but close would be good. Thanks to anybody who can help!
  15. Many VAs that mirror real world airlines collect their routes from databases, times and all. Usually they don't require you to fly at this particular time though, it's just the real world flight times.
