  1. Craig,I see what you are saying and basically what you have said is what I have done. Even as said above starting at EGSS and doing a basic flight but setting the FMC for arrival at EGGW whilst on the ground at EGSS. As soon as I set the frequencies in Nav 1 to be active what I see by the speed tape is ILTN/259.In In all cases except for the stansted experiment I have not been setting the NAv frequencies until I am about to intercept the G/S / localiser for 26. Stansted being East of Luton I should see What John saw above. Even on the ground.ThanksAndy
  2. Will have a look at the default FSX 737, At the moment apart from the NGX and Traffic X, the installation is clean as in there are no scenary addons airfield addons etc etc. I do not at the moment have FS commander. .ThanksAndy
  3. I have Skype, However can we do this tomorrow, I have to get up at dirty oclock. I can send you an offline message with Skype details, when I'm back online tomorrow. This sim is to addictive and I wonder why I'm tired all the time!!! :-)thanks for your help.Andy.
  4. Hi John,Ok, I have just done exactly what you have written down here. The only difference is what I see up by the speed tape is the following:ILTN/259DME 23.0ILSAgain at this point I had not left the ground. Its got to be something I have missed. Or more likely inadvertantly changed. According to the map display the first DME I would cross to ILS 26 would be 77DME.Andy.
  5. Thanks John, I'll give it ago.Andy.
  6. As I have the full res image I can see it is definately locking on to ILTN. Question I now have is where/how do you change this? :-)ThanksAndy.
  7. Fred,I have now done what yourself and Craig suggested, apologies I was looking in the wrong area. However now thats done when intercepting the glideslope/localizer the aircraft now turns completely away from the airport, as if following the direction of RW 08. It still appears as B/CRS on the main panel. Hopefully attached to this are some images of what I am seeing. As aid this is done at a very basic level, literally taking off looping the airfield and trying to intercept the G/S..ThanksAndy.
  8. Craig, (or anyone else)I have tried what yousuggested, and still it refuses to see the glideslope correctly and no matter what I do as soon as I hit that APR button my course setting switches from 256 to 076 and the aircraft ignors the glideslope. Even if I open FSX start a new flight and set the wind so I know RW 26 will be in use it still behaves as described above. If anyone wants to have a go, and see if its just me please do. I sadly have to earn a living away for the next day or so. So I wont be able to try again until at least late tomorrow night (UK time)Many thanks for any input you can give..Andy
  9. The FMC was set to ILS RW 26. It was showing me the correct ILS Frequency, Course, and Runway. Is it likely to be anything to do with the ILS frequency is the same for RW 26 as it is for RW08 and I have missed a check box somewhere? I never had this happen on the 737 NG for FS9. I obviously realise the level of realism is significantly higher in the NGX, hence why I asking if I have mised something.ThanksAndy.
  10. I have as small issue that I cannot figure myself, so I'm gonna ask.. I am still learning and taking it bit by bit so bear with me. Scenario is I have just been practising flying aproaches and landing using the ILS and APR Modes Literally taking off from Runway 08 at EGGW flying a loop and landing on Runway 08. All good.. Now if I set actual weather conditions then with the wind direction runway in use switches to 26, I take off do my loop whilst setting the frequency on NAV 1 and set the course to 256 turn the aircraft to intercept the localiser then when intercepted enable APR mode. All of this so far is exactly as per my process with RW08, however now as soon as I select APR my course switches to 076 (08's Course) and instead of showing me "VOR LOC" and "Single" I get shown BCRS, (which I can only assume means BAck Course. At this point the aircraft will follow the localizer laterally but ignors the glideslopeand flys right over the top of the runway. I have checked I am at the right altitude etc etc.I am using Saitek Pro Yoke system with Saitek Thrust levers. Although I have assigned certain key actions to buttons on the controls, nothing to do with the Auto Pilot/Autoland system has been assigned and is using default key presses or direct button presses on screen with a mouse.Any thoughts gratefully received, its starting to get to me...Many thanksAndy.
  11. Thank you people. It kind of confirmed what I thought I knew, I'll try the overclock method that somebody mentioned. If not I guess its a new system. Trouble being its post Christmas, this is a bloody long month and money is a bit tight. I may just have to put up with a bit of stutter for a month or two. Thanks again.Andy.
  12. I have a question for you regular simmers. Having spent years playing with PMDG 737 NG on FS9 I have finally bought 737 NGX and now I have had to obviously delve into FSX. The main reason I have avoided FSX and stayed with FS9 is that the performance was awful. Now.. I have got to the point where the NGX runs ok but its still abit stuttery and if I flick to the Outside spot view I will always get a skeletal view until the aircraft "builds itself again.. (I have added the text lines as explained in the intro guide.) Flicking over to the Virtual cockpit it always takes a second or so to load the panels. I have played around with the scenary settings until I am blue in the face and I can get a smooth run however The scenary ends up looking like a child painted it... :-) My question is Should I spend the money and update the Graphics card. The system as it stands is as followsWindows 7 64 bitIntel Q6600 Quad Core Processor8 GB RAMAMD Radeon 4800 Graphics.FSX SP2 installed in its own directory not default install directory.virus scans disabled on that directory.I was looking at the NVIDIA Geforce 560? There are many debates over the years online about whether graphics cards help or not or whether it is purely cpu. As far as I can see it the Graphics card is the weak link at the moment in my system. Any thoughts comments gratefully received before I spend money on something that may not help at all. ThanksAndy.
