New NVIDIA Driver/NVIDIA Inspector
Just a heads up for those that use NVIDIA Inspector the new NVIDIA driver 364.51 released last week, has changed "FSX" to Flight Sim 10 by drop down name within Inspector. You also need to search "Microsoft" to filter rather than just typing "MS" Searching "MS" will find no Microsoft products. Just FYI. It caught me out. To be fair I have heard the latest driver is a little unstable in other applications anyway. Andy

Easyjet liverie
Absolutely and equally Virgin Atlantic don't fly the 777 -200LR but there is still a livery for it with in the downloader. I don't think it needs to be 100% real life when it comes to livery's. Just my 2p

Pressurization Autofail
Whats the Mother board got to do with it out of curiosity? I have an ASUS Mobo and Ive had it happen once or twice but nothing regular. Andy

Mouse Pointer Weirdness
Hi Kyle, I can set the the view points back to default using the Control spacebar etc as well as all the other move commands but it makes no difference. All Sim connect installers have been run. This is a fresh install of everything on a new machine. All guidelines followed to the letter during install. Neither NGX or 777 are default aircraft. (777 has no issues this appears to be solely with NGX. Thanks for you help/input. Andy

Mouse Pointer Weirdness
Hi All. I'm going to revive this one as I am still having issues with the mouse pointer intermittently ceasing to work with the actual control switches (Push/Pull and Rotate) with the NGX. (As per original post) The mouse itself still works as a mouse you can see the pointer move etc. If I switch to the 2D cockpit it works normally with the switches. Switching back to VC it works for a few sconds and then stops again. I have checked my view point and it is nothing abnormal and within what I would call tolerance. ie zoom point is between 70 and 80. Zooming in or out makes no difference. This is intermittent so it is hard to test and fault find, however the problem appeared tonight and dissappeared as soon as I had landed. coincidence maybe but it only seems to happen in flight. It only happens with the NGX. Not the 777. I have a Saitek Pro flight control and CH rudder pedals. Latest Win 10 drivers installed for both products. If while this problem is occurring I pull both controls out of the USB ports there is no difference, so I dont think its down to that. System is running Flight Sim X Steam edition. I am a long time owner of regular FSX and never saw these problems under that. Very reluctant to go back to the Non steam variety as my frame rates are substantially better like around 45/50fps instead of 15 - 20. Over to the community... :-) Any thoughts?? Many Thanks Andy Andy Mahaffey

Mouse Pointer Weirdness
So being as FSX was running like a slug, I decided to uninstall everything and start a fresh, only this time as it was running at a silly discount I purchased and installed the Steam Edition. So far so good all add ons seem to work PMDG 737 and 777 install flawlessly and to be fair my frame rates are up on what they were and the whole experience is smoother... With the exception of whilst flying the NGX the mouse stopped responding to the push/pull/rotate points on the screen within the Virtual cockpit. As a mouse it was fine the pointer travelled across the screen as I moved it, it just wouldnt change into a little hand. This happened on and off through out the whole hour and a half flight. It would stop responding correctly for about 15 seconds and then it would be fine for a few minutes and then it would happen again. It was only the case in the Virtual cockpit, if I switched to the 2D cockpit it was all fine. Anyone else seen this at all?? All of the SimConnect MSI files have been installed as per the read me docs. Not sure they would be contributing to this anyway but you never know. Any thoughts appreciated. Many thanks Andy. Sp1 Weirdness
Hi Michael, Thanks for the response. What you have said I agree is correct and I wasn't so much as questioning what time compression was doing more what the aircraft was doing after it got to 8x which as you rightly say is detailed in another thread. When I was writing the original post I could not find the post relating to the weirdness going on at 8x, It was only as I posted that this other thread came back to the top of the file. I will keep an eye on what is going on in that thread. Best Regards Andy.

Sp1 Weirdness
It was at normal speed after going past a waypoint and then ramped itself up to 8x. Previously it had only got up to 4 x . 8x is the max within the time compression settings I have applied. So what it did was correct. The result less so. Andy.

Sp1 Weirdness
Hi Guys, I am sure I saw on here a few days ago people discussing this issue, however I'll be damned if I can find it again. Oh on posting this that post has reappeared directly below mine.. However: (In case its a separate issue) Midway through a flight from Heathrow to JFK, and the time compression sets itself at 8x. At this point the aircraft veers sharply off track to the left. Ok probably shouldn't happen but I can deal with that. I turned the time compression off so its running in real time and heres the weird bit the aircraft shows as correcting itself by initiating a turn to the right visually you can see the aircraft is turning to the right both from within the flight deck and from an outside spot view, however the ND shows the aircraft turning to the left and the heading indicator shows the same thing. At this point AP is still engaged, so I switch from LNAV to HDG Sel and enter a heading. No change instruments still contradict what is happening. I disabled the AP and found that no matter what I did with the yoke there was still no change. I know the yoke was still connected to the sim as all other buttons including the Autopilot disengage work exasctly as they should including the vertical axis of the yoke itself. I got annoyed at this point and quit the flight, however if anybody has any suggestions, please feel free to share. I have not seen this happen ever prior to installing SP1. Many thanks Andy

Some questions
Just an update for those that contributed. I believe the problem with overspeed at take off is to do with weight. As I have been learning the aircraft and systems I have been flying short routes, as such I have been reducing fuel to just above minimums required. I guess really I could expect nothing else wjen those engines are designed to power a huge aircraft flying massive distances... :-) As to the point above I changed the options for thrust levers overriding the AT to Never and my next descent appeared to happen flawlessly. Thanks for all of the input. Andy.

Some questions
Ahhhh I dont think I am derating climb thrust. Only take off thrust. Will have to look tomorrow now though. Thank you Rob.

Some questions
For the purposes of trying out and testing what you have said. I set an assumed temp of about 100 deg ( excessive I know) take off thrust was derated to about 78% N1 Even at this level I still reached 260 knts during initial climb out even with the speed hold on the MCP set to 152. I guess if auto throttle is armed and on Im expecting the engines to auto retard during the climb to maintain the set required speed. Am I expecting wrongly.. I did also try the FLCH but again still overspeed. Many thanks guys Andy.

Some questions
Thanks for your comments. The NGX does have CWS as far as I am aware and it does allow you to disengage all elements of the AP individually. As said I'm not a pilot so this may not be possible in reality. As to point 1 Ill have a play again I may have just missed a line in the manual etc. Another question I have that I didn't post originally is to do with Auto Throttle. After setting 55% N1 and engaging the Autothrottle (via a Saitek throttle quadrant) The aircraft accelerates normally I pull the yoke back at Vr and climb out, the problem I have is that it just keeps accelerating and within 20 seconds I'm at 360 Kts at under 4000 ft and all kinds of overspeed warnings are going off. The speed hold is set to v2 in the MCP as per tutorial and N1 does not exceed the level set in the Thrust Limit page of the FMC. It just seems to ignore the MCP entirely. What have I missed? Many thanks Andy

Some questions
Firstly in general I love this aircraft, however after going through tutorial 1 and the "quickstart" guide I have some questions for those of you way more experienced than I am. Firstly I have spent 99% of my time with the 737NGX. I very much understand that the 777 is a diferent beast entirely, however some things that seem to be very similar to the NGX suddenly behave differently, I'll list them below and please feel free to correct me. I am not a pilot or a hard core simmer but I do enjoy this as a hobby. 1) After planning a route I select VNAV L NAV etc and the aircraft flies it perfectly, with the exception that it never seems to descend at a rate that gets it to the altitude it needs to be at a certain point. This worked correctly on the tutorial but after following the same process but utilising my own start and end points and a route suppliued by "Route finder" everything works including the Autoland except the decent and I end up either putting a hold on it or having to descend manually much faster than would be healthy. Any thoughts? 2) This questions is a hangover from the NGX, On the NGX I could happily set the Altitude Hold and speed hold through the Autopilot but then take of the Heading hold or even LNAV and fly the aircraft laterally by hand. On the 777 it seems that the only way of disabling either vertical or Heading from the Autopilot is to completely disconnect the AP, leaving you to 100% fly the aircraft. Am I missing something here or is this just the way it works on the 777. Thank you for any input you can give in advance. BEst Wishes for 2014 Andy. Andy Mahaffey.

Disappearing Traffic
To close this one. I have no idea what went wrong. All CFG lines were there that should have been. An uninstall and reinstall of Traffic X sorted the issue. Something must have got corrupted somewhere. Thanks though... Andy
