Reminder, Captain Sim's 9.99 sale has begun!
Sorry I meant it doesn't matter how well an addon is simulated it will never be completely "realistic" until you fly for real (we all know that though). However, I find the greater "realism" is indeed more fun that is why I buy addons and not fly default. I have come to accept some limitations with the software. If I am to spend around 30+ dollars on addons I want a top "notch" addon. I have never bought CS aircraft at full price and only when on special. I find at 10 euro it is worth it and I can put up with some issues etc (I can appreciate the time it takes to model this and I don't know of any better addons for these planes I love).I really don't know if that makes any sense and it is only my opinion (my 2cents disregard if you want).

Reminder, Captain Sim's 9.99 sale has begun!
I decided to get the 707. I read the AVSIM review and it seemed that although there are issues - it seemed to fly very accurately even when compared to an actual Boeing manual. Now I am aware that Captain Sim may not be "authentic" (I had their 757 and it is not as good as say the Level D 767- it did help me to learn how to use the FMC etc, but it just had too many bugs like no VOR working etc.)Furthermore, I love as much realism as possible but in the end no simulation software on a home computer is going to be completely "realistic" (that's why I find it amusing that say PMDG and Level D do not model weather radars - but enough of that). I'd say go for it. For my new FSX computer I have bought the 707, 727 and C130 - I have a policy myself to stay away from CS's Boeings with complex autopilots as their 757 was very appauling in that regard. However, CS's classics are actually pretty good, so I will reccommend those. If you are having fun who cares?

Setting up a brand new computer
Hi everyone I just purchased a new computer primarily for FSX and for listening to music, watching movies etc, I am going to set it up over Christmas. As I have not even switched the computer on for the first time (although Windows 7 is preinstalled) I am interested in the correct procedure for setting up the computer and installing FSX so it is optimized for performance.I will be installing FSX, Acceleration etc. I will also be using REX V2 the Level D 767, Maddog MD-82, CS 727, 707 and C130 and I hope to buy the PMDG 737NGX soon. I have also heard about ENB, shade etc (any must have addons?).I have CH pedals, yoke and various joysticks, is FSUIPC registered version a recommended requirement to get the hardware operating the best within FSX?I will also install itunes and Norton 360 hopefully ASAP.As I have been only focused on FS2004 I am not aware of the procedures, tweaking things, frame rate limiters? etc.If anyone has any time to explain the best way of setting up the computer from the moment I turn it on and to setting up FSX as I want it to be perfect from the start. OR if there is a comprehensive thread, topic etc that covers this could someone please direct me to it (so I don't waste anyone's time). My system specs are:ASUS P8Z68-V Intel Z68 DDR3 USB3+SATA3 Raid SLI+ CrossFire LGA1155 PCI-EIntel Core i5 2500K Sandy Bridge 3.30GHz 6MB 95W LGA1155Mushkin Blackline FrostByte 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 (993995)EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX560 Ti DS Superclocked 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E (01G-P3-1567-KR)CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU CoolerSeagate Barracuda 1TB ST31000524AS 32MB 6Gb/s SATA3Corsair TX650 V2 Enthusiast Series Power SupplyLG GH24NS70 24X DVD Writer SATA OEMLian-Li LanCool Dragonlord PC-K62B Mid Tower w/WindowWindows 7 Home Premium 64Bit That is all I can think of now - And I really appreciate any input. Thanks

New Gaming PC
B737_300 replied to B737_300's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThank you for your reply. If I never intend to overclock, will the 2500 be as good as the 2500K at stock speeds?Furthermore, if I do not intend to overclock is the 2600 a better option than the 2500K?Thanks

New Gaming PC
HiI am interested in a new gaming PC for Christmas and I would want it to run FSX at very high settings with PMDG addons etc.I have been looking at the following few computers (I am going for pre built from some local PC stores - I can't build my own (not the big chains)).First one: (cheapest)Intel sandy bridge Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz 6M LGA1155 ProcessorAsus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 ATX Socket 1155 NEW Z68 Motherboard> True USB 3.0 -10X Faster Date Rates!> True SATA 6Gb/s RAID Support - Experience the Future of Storage!Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 RAMSeagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 32MB Cache SATA3 7200RPM Hard DriveLG 22x Speed internal SATAII DVD WriterEVGA GTX 560TI OC 1GB DDR5 PCI-E Graphic CardNZXT Lexa S Black Steel Mid Tower ChassisAntec NEO ECO 620W 80 Plus Power SupplySecond one: (just slightly more than the first one (it is on special though!)).## Intel sandy bridge Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz 6M LGA1155 Processor## Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 ATX Socket 1155 NEW Z68 Chipset Motherboard> True USB 3.0 -10X Faster Date Rates!> True SATA 6Gb/s RAID Support - Experience the Future of Storage!## Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 RAM## Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 32MB Cache SATA3 7200RPM Hard Drive## LG 22x Speed internal SATAII DVD Writer## Sapphire ATI Radeon HD6950 2GB GDDR5 HDMI PCI-Express Graphic Card## Aerocool Strike-X Black Gaming Case## Antec NEO ECO 620W Molex PSU 80 Plus Power SupplyFrom my research I have found that the nvidia cards are better than the AMD cards, although in the second system is this a better card than the gtx 560 ti. Furthermore, I can get some cheaper systems with an i7-2600 (without K) but if I am correct the i5-2500K is better for gaming (though I do not plan on overclocking). Thanks

EVGA vs Gigabyte vs ASUS
HiI am purchasing a new computer and I was wondering what the difference between an EVGA GTX 560Ti, a ASUS GTX 560Ti and a Gigabyte GTX 560Ti is?Are they the same thing - just branded differently? Thanks (I am a little confused)
