HYD 3 PRES LO on Landing Gear Extension
Hey ho, it's me again. I found the reason behind all this inconveniences: It was the internal FSX-battery (not the MD-11's) that turned itself off somehow and caused the issues with the landing gear (HYD 3 PRES LO) and the ILS UNTUNABLE. Obviously the high simulation rate and a resulting conflict between the complex PMDG systems and the FSX-internals was the origin of all that. Solution: Map a Hotkey (e.g. via FSUIPC) to "Toggle Master Battery" to turn it on again. Cheers, Eric

HYD 3 PRES LO on Landing Gear Extension
Ok I just did another testflight from EDDF to UNKL, again sped up to 4x. No issues this time except I noticed that the 3rd party gauge "bethere" I'm using turned off and on while inflight, which suggests a temporary loss of FSX-battery power (on the flights mentioned above it went off completely without turning on again -> FSX-battery was dead). Im inclined to say that the HYD 3 PRES LO is indeed caused by some internal FSX struggles (battery), or the MD-11 systems having trouble to keep up with the high simulation rate. Why it especially happened in KLAX is beyond my imagination. Anyway, as long as I can still complete my flight by following the abnormal procedures, I'm fine with that. Eric

HYD 3 PRES LO on Landing Gear Extension
Hey Guys, first let me make it clear that I disabled all failures in the PMDG menu, so that shouldn't be the reason. I've encountered the following problem quite recently on two flights (YBBN-KLAX and PHNL-KLAX) while on the approach on RWY 6L and 7R. As soon as I lower the landing gear I get a "HYD 3 PRES LO" (see attached screenshot) message thus preventing me from lowering the nose and main landing gears, only the center one comes down. If I follow the abnormal procedure to repressurize system 3 nothing happens and I'm forced to follow the "HYD 3 FAIL" procedure. After that I was able to safely land the aircraft in LAX both times. That seems rather strange because I followed the checklist from startup to shutdown just as I always did. On a short test flight from KLAS to KSAN everything worked like a charm. The only reason I see would be that I was speeding up my sim to 4x, which may caused a kind of "hiccup" with the MD-11. Could that be possible? But then again, I was flying other routes with 4x as well, without these issues. Moreover I'm getting the same "ILS untunable" message (not visible in the screenshot) as this guy: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/280245-landing-gear-failure/?p=1740748 As you can see I'm already within 10 NM of KLAX, so it should be able to tune the ILS without problem, right? Some other guys with the same problem, but without a proper solution: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/386717-failures-problem/ http://forum.avsim.net/topic/329073-landing-gear-failure/ Can you confirm that this is a typical consequence of using higher simulation rates in FSX with the MD-11? Hope some of you guys can tell me what's the reason behind this kind of behaviour, because I'm beginning to doubt my airmanship ! Eric

TileProxy with GEX and UTX
Ok, I tried the little tool mentioned in the thread above and it's not working for me, but to be honest I don't like the fact that a third-party program is changing my o/s config anyway. But, I just reinstalled TP completely and checked how the entries are organized in the scenery library. I saw that the LOD 8 was not directly under the other TP entries, so I moved it to the (in my opinion) proper position, right underneath the others. And well, I don't know what to say - it works, and the textures are showing up correctly in the region I tested until now. I really don't know if it's because I changed the priority in the library!? The only thing left to say is that the first circle in the TP status monitor is empty all the time and I don't know if it's supposed to do so. Anyway, I'm glad there's no reason to be frustrated anymore. ^^Thanks for your help!mfg (sincerly)Eric

TileProxy with GEX and UTX
Hi there, I'm not sure whether my problem has already been discussed here but i didn't find anything through the forum search. So what's the deal? I have both Ultimate Terrain X and Ground Environment X installed and I'm running FSX Acceleration on a Win 7 64x machine. I installed TP and it sure is working, which means at least it downloads tiles (noticable through the status window) and saves them into my cache folder (= I can see and open the jpgs), BUT I still see the default Ground Textures including autogen delivered by GEX while flying. I already tried to disable UTX through the scenery library with no success. So i guess it's a conflict with either GEX or UTX, but otherwise I read some posts stating that users were running TP and GEX/UTX with no problems. Is there any known problem related to TP with GEX and UTX installed? I would like to keep both UTX and GEX installed because I use to fly airliners also and if so the GEX textures are the better choice. ps: sorry if there are any misunderstandings, it took me half an hour to write this :(
