MCE Demo not connecting to FS9
I have come to the conclusion that to get MCE to run on FS9 I will have to reinstall FS9 to ProgramFiles(x86) which I will do in the near future, but not just yet. I will use MCE in FSX at least for now since I know it works on FSX and have verified it. I noticed that another software also installed in ProgramFiles(x86) runs ok in FSX but it cannot find the FSUIPC module in FS9. So I conclude from that, that MCE is not able to do the same with fsinsider.dll The one time I was able to use MCE with FSX I was impressed with how well it works. I must confess that over the years I have been doubtful of that but will use MCE and transition over to it, first in FSX and then in FS9 once I get FS9 transferred.

MCE Demo not connecting to FS9
I donwloaded the MCE demo and installed. I couldn't get MCE to work in FS9, only in FSX. Running FS9 as administrator I kept getting the amber message "trying to connect.....". It times out with a message to manually install fsinsider.dll from the unzipped files. Have done all that multiple times with no success. I have been in communication with MCE support and they have really been trying to figure this out with plenty of suggestions or things to try. I have tried them all. One thing I noticed is that the advice to change the "debug" switch to 1 from 0 in the .ini file and then running the sim did not produce a .log file which tells me that the MCE is not finding or connecting with FS9. I have UAC on and both FSX and MCE are in Program Files(x86) while FS9 is in C:\\ directly. Strange that MCE will run ok in FSX but not with FS9. I have both FSX and FS9 running as administrator. I am getting to the end of the demo cycle and have tried several of their fsinsider.dll 's in the modules folder with no success. Anyone else out there have this same problem?

My FSX farewell
I bought FSX Deluxe Gold with acceleration in 2008 but never tried to install it until recently. It couldn't even install on windows 7. I googled my problem and found a solution but the solution didn't work. In reading other simmers' frustration with both installing and trying to reinstall I came to the conclusion that I was right in the first place not to install FSX as it is a defective product, especially if it can't install on its own operating system. I have FS9 installed on w.7 and didn't have any problems. My decision to stay with FS9 now is even the more solidified in my mind. I am waiting for this dove company that bought the license from Microsoft to produce, hopefully, a good sim. For the foreseeable future I am staying with FS9. If FSX can't take too many addons then what good is it since the addons make FSX more realistic. Without the addons it is just too gamish and I want more realism, not just more graphics. Furthermore I also believe that Microsoft gave up on the franchise because they knew they produced a defective product and they knew they wouldn't be able to support it so they got out. Had they produced a successful sim then they would still be in business today.

Error 1722 and -1603 During Flight Simulator X Installation... Help!
It looks to me, having read the above solution which is quite complex, is that it will not be possible to install FSX on a Windows 7 64 bit machine as I have followed the solutions offered by Microsoft downloading the KB928080 utility which will not install on my computer, thus leaving me with a "dead end". The above solution doesn't seem to be a solution either as the answer is quite complex. It looks like I would have to be a computer geek to do this which I am not.

FSX Error 1722 and 1603 on installation
Yes, this is for installing FSX for the first time. I did download KB928080 and did RUN this software and I get another error message "Error Creating Process" followed by all the file folders, etc. and at the bottom it says, "Reason:C\windows\system32\advpack.dll I know I am probablly posting this in the wrong section of AVSIM Forum. I really do not understand the forum system and do not usually post anything. I am just doing this for the first time as I am having a problem realated to FSX installation. Thank you for your kind understanding.

FSX Error 1722 and 1603 on installation
Anyone out there know how to solve this problem of installation error 1722 and 1603 on a W.7 64 bit machine. At the end of the installation process these errors show up, error 1722 and 1603. When I click "ok" the installer rolls back the installation. I have tried installing all the way on the root of C: drive creating my own folder "Flight Simulator X" instead of in program files or program files x86 and still get the same results. Am considering getting an external drive and trying to install it on that. Any fresh ideas?
