  1. Yes I know, the NGX will -hopefully- be in our hands soon, but there's plenty of discussion on what the frames will be like on the NGX. Of course, there's this idea that it will run on-par/better than the MD-11, but there's never been any solid confirmation from BETA testers and PMDG themselves. However, upon reading some of the comments on the Angle of Attack 737NGX staging area, there's some indication on what kind of frame rate we'll see on this bird. John Brian Sommers

And this was the reply from Chris Palmer:
You're going to do very well with it. It's not going to take your frames. You'll be really, really surprised at how optimized this thing is. It's just silky smooth. You have the system that can handle it. In fact, you have a system close to Nick's. Expect about 40-50 FPS with the NGX in heavy scenery and clouds.
I don't know what help this will be for you, but I'm hoping someone can relate to it! :)

  2. Now that I look at it i'm sure glad I stayed put with FS9. I'd hate to dish out this kind of money for the NGX http://www.precision...3&idcategory=13 I prefer iFlys price much better.
It's just a place-holder/joke :) Honestly, I was a FS9 enthusiast up until 4 days ago when I suddenly found some great tweaks for FSX and it looks amazing and runs very smoothly on my not-so-great system. :) With today's technology, getting FSX working well is pretty straight-forward. I highly recommend researching it all! :) Believe me, I was totally into the iFly for FS9 but I'm incredibly excited about the NGX. :)

  3. I had this problem before, but I found this great website with a tutorial on it. You need to place the entire contents of the download into the main FSX directory and create the .bat file from there. Make sure that you've put the correct file path for fsx.exe. Once you've done that, simply create the bat file and it should appear in the main FSX directory as "fsx.exe.limited". Just make sure you then use the bat file to start FSX. I'll try and dig out a link for you in the mean time as it had a few other tips on it. :) Edit - Found it: http://virtualfsx.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/unlimited-frames-external-frame-locking/

  4. Hi Calum, The only other thing I can think of is if you have a corrupt saved flight. FSX should start with a default aircraft, then using the aircraft selection screen to make your choice of fat ladies (Queens :().Are you using livery someone else created? It is possible that the "PMDG_MD11_Fuse_Left_LM" and "PMDG_MD11_Fuse_Right_LM" (These are the files are blank or don't have the correct alpha channel I suppose. If so, try one of the liveries that came with the PMDG 747 originally.Edit: Those names are for FSX, for FS9 just drop the M in LM like so: "PMDG_747_FUSE_RIGHT_L". The way I described is for FSX as well. There may be a different way to turn the lights on in FS9. Sorry but I don't have FS9 installed currently to test :(
Hi Dan,First of all, thank you for the help. I just tried your methods and sadly none of them worked. I also checked the files you mentioned, both of which were there. When you say the 'alpha channel' how is it possible to change it? I normally use the Virgin Atlantic model, but I tried it with the BA and also the original PMDG models, which again, providing no cabin lights. Thanks again for the continued help! :)Edit: Ah, I fixed it by turning on the "Landing Lights" option in FS9. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.

  5. Full names are require in this forum please, thanks. To get the passenger lights to turn on you need just turn on a panel light. Such as the "Overhead Panel Lights", "Glareshield Panel Flood lights", "Dome light" or "Aisle Stand Panel Flood".
Hey, thanks for the fast reply.I've been doing that for a while and yet they still don't turn on. Do you have any other suggestions as to what could help? :)Thanks again.
