Afternoon, I've ran through the setting up of Ultimate Traffic 2 in P3D post by - Rob Ainscough - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/449212-ultimate-traffic-2-in-p3d-v23/ I seem to ran into a problem which I don't know how to resolve, I don't have any AI traffic at all; I'm posting some screens below so you're able to see my current setup.. Do I have something pointing to the wrong location? What have I done wrong? I think I've followed it right, does anyone see the problem I've made? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Copy Prepar3d.exe and rename to FSX.exe 2. Add registry key for FSX location that points to P3D - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 – value = V:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v2 3. Edit the Prepar3D.cfg and add under: [Main] SimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft 4. Edit the EXE.XML and add: <!-- Unlimited Traffic 2 --> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>V:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> 5. Create a fake FSX config directory under: C:\Users\(my profile)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX Copy over all the contents from the corresponding Prepar3d2 directory and copy the prepar3d.cfg to fsx.cfg

I´m not sure which step solved this problem (no tests after every step, sorry) but i did as follow: reinstalled DirectX runtime as posted above -> uninstalling windows update KB2670838 (could be the reason) rebuild P3D own shaders with SweetFX on rebuild SweetFX shaders (pressed break button on keyboard) with SweetFX on and off ! The issue with the P3D menu is still there, but as soon as I close the menu the effects are coming back, an I can also switch to fullscreen or windowed mode without problems !! Yuhuu ! Thank you !" I do have the KB update so I'll test it tonight, you have Windows 7?

Regards" I'll go home later and remove that update if I have it and post back later with results. I don't mind about going full screen, the problem is SweetFX disabling when going into the menu bar which I have to do sometimes to access certain addons etc.

Well after following the instructions I've got it to work, the only problem I'm faced with now is then I go into the menu bar it seems to 'remove/disable' SweetFX and it won't come back, have to restart P3D..

That's exactly my problem, I don't understand what changes when the menu bar is selected but something seems to be removed or disabled.

I'm not following :/

Ok, that did help reduce the FPS problem, although when I click Scroll/Lock it disables SwetFX and as soon as I go into the menu, do what I need to do and come back out to enable SweetFX again, it won't. Just doesn't load..

Evening All, Something I've come across - While using SweetFX 'standalone' within P3D V2.4, for some reason if I am to enter the menu bars, SweetFX will disable, now I don't mean disable where I have to enable it again, I mean it won't work, I have to close the sim to load SweetFX back.. Should I use the actual SweeFX Configuration to resolve the matter or is this known in P3D? Secondly when using the menus, the simulator will lag and drop to very low FPS, it's only when I close the menu bars I go back to normal FPS and everything back to normal.. Thirdly, any possibility to have that 'alt' (Flights, Options etc) bar removed is that something tha'll always be on the screen and only removed by holding 'alt' on the keyboard? Any thoughts?

What version of P3D are you running and what's it took for you to get it working correctly?

Yeah that's fair, although I installed the Airbus X A320/A321 and it ruined my sim, had to format my computer and over at Aerosoft they didn't know what the problem was and couldn't offer any support; http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/87597-p3d-crashing-airbus-x/ Another thing is they advertise the new Airbus X A318/A319 as P3D V2 compatible, is that all version of version 2?

Afternoon, Does anyone have an up-to-date compatibility addon chart; http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426926-p3d-v2-master-compatibility-list-closed/page-3 I've seen a number of these around and I think they're brilliant, it's really helpful for users to know what works with P3D.. The question is, does anyone have an up-to-date one for P3D version 2.4? Thanks

Well that's a let down!! I think I'll have to get Ultimate Traffic 2; http://forum.avsim.net/topic/449212-ultimate-traffic-2-in-p3d-v23/ This seems to be the only 'functioning' AI traffic addon that works, I can't say about 2.4! Do you a working AI traffic addon for P3D 2.4 yet?

Yeah that's completely understandable.. So as it stands the versions of P3D we have won't work with 'My Traffic'?

That's a really good read! I think it's something suppliers should look into and giving the EXACT requirements to the customer. I also do have a purchased version of MyTraffic - Have you been able to get it working? This is what I currently have ' MyTRAFFIC X PROFESSIONAL 5.4C FOR FSX'

Yeah that's so true, I don't see why it doesn't check the compatibility of what you're currently running like most software does.. If the installer had the feature I would of saved all that hassle..

Yeah I totally agree, I think that's fair for the customer - For example some people could interpret that 'P3D' means it works in all versions. I think it's something they should look into when advertising - Another thing quoting from Aerosoft "Hi, the Airbus X Extended is not P3Dv2 compatible, so please uninstall it again. Apparently we can't support it. For some it may work, for others not." Why can't they support it, for what reason? The new Airbus they've release works with P3D V2 apparently?

That's my point, I don't understand.. Reading through though I see the Airbus X Extended A320/A321 is compatible with P3D but it doesn't specify 'V2' where as the new A319 series does say 'P3D V2' which is what I think you've found..

Yeah, the 'WHY' is what I wanted to know but I wasn't given an answer.. It was the Airbus X Extended upon installed it gave you the prompt window to choose P3D

These are the steps I had already followed to reinstall my product.. Reading through the pinned topic it doesn't say much than most people already know, I uninstalled my product though the control panel, restarted computer, installed, and then restarted computer.. Am I missing something?

After looking through my even view log the only problems that occurred are it being unable to create a restore point.. Looking through the registry I don't see anything now relating to the above addons, all main files were removed, installed onto separate hard drives and drive formatted, along with the %appdata% files removed and so.. I've also dropped a thread on the Aerosoft forums regarding the Airbus X along with P3D, see they know the cause.. Edit: Also, if I open event viewer now and load P3D, it doesn't show in the event viewer. No crash error, no information error, just nothing.

Oh no, this doesn't sound good - What's the problem and is it fixable?

Haven't done any patch and the 10GB downloader is the one I've used since I had the software, installed fine, ran fine, installed Airbus X A320 and UK2000 Jersey, then it wouldn't open, uninstalled them, removed all the directories etc, still wouldn't load, then I did a reinstall to remove all P3D and still won't load.. So basically the installer I have is the one I used to first install which did install fine..
