  1. Hi Airwolfe,

I only painted the exterior, I never touched the VC. Other V35B paints don't suffer from this problem? If that is the case, could it be that the 'texture.cfg' file is missing in my texture folder? If it is, you should be able to copy it from any other texture folder for the Bonanza. If that is not it, I fear I have no idea. However, if all other paints have the same problem, you might consider reinstalling the V35B.

    Cheers

The .cfg file is there. The other models are not affected. Take a look at these screenshots. http://imgur.com/a/nFhMn

I will try this today after work. Thanks.

  3. Avsim member Jankees did an awesome repaint for me several years ago. It is a repaint for the Carenado V35B, which looks just like one that my father used to own in the 70s and 80s. For whatever reason the windows are 'tinted' so much that they are black in the VC. Jankees hasn't been back on in the forums lately. Would anyone be willing to take a look at for me?

    Thanks!

  4. I'd gotten so used to my replacement clouds that when I reinstalled, the default ones reminded me of something I'd seen on TV....
    D'oh!
I never see the point of reinstalling FSX. Most of the time it won't fix anything. And the amount off add-ons (sceneries) you have installed doesn't lower framerate at all. It's about the add-on used at the particular moment. Now reinstall you're add-ons again and you'll be back to the fps you head before your last FSX installtion.
I think the OP meant the entire sim simply runs smoother, I did not see a reference to better FPS. I re-installed after the NGX release, following their FSX recommended install procedure.

  5. The guys at FS2Crew are saying it's 'strongly recommended by PMDG' ... I don't remember that from my original install of the NGX, but I have been known to overlook directions like this. For some reason I would think that 'LOADING IN 2D IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED' would stick out to me. Thanks for the input scandinavian13, much appreciated.

  6. Try running without EZDOK to troubleshoot. Mine stays in whatever FSX state I set.
ok. I will try that this evening. Does PMDG recommend loading in 2D ? I am sure it is in the manual, but I am at work and do not have it in front of me.

  7. A couple of questions about 2-D cockpit views:1)Is it recommended to load the NGX in 2-D cockpit ? 2) When I load in 2-D, it stays for about 5 sec (give or take 3s) ... then switches back to VC during the NGX initialization. Is NGX loading VC during initialization or is EXDOK maybe doing this ? OR do I have something screwed up somewhere ?Thanks

  8. Hello.I'm curious what button setting you found as I am having the same issue of it automatically switching. I have the 2-D setting set, and it does load, but without any action from me, it changes to the VC.Tim Hendrickson
I thought it was 'button 2' on my Saitek Pro Flight Yoke... but now I am thinking it is something to do with my old 'view' settings in FSX (which I am going to clear out completely) and ezdok. Are you using ezdok ?

  9. Well, I can't explain how a re-install by itself would solve the issue, but if it works it works. That's all that counts I guess. All is good.
One thing that changed was the livery I was using. After the re-install I started using the PMDG 800WL House... I had been using a livery I downloaded from the Avsim library called Bandit. After my success earlier I went back to the Bandit and had the same problems. I am now back in the house livery and things seem to be working correctly.

  10. Glad you got it sorted!!!But are you sure all you did was re-install the software? You must have done something else differently.Between the time it worked and the time it didn't, did you set the switch in the FSX Settings - Aircraft menu to start the aircraft by default in the 2D cockpit? That's the only thing I can think of that would maybe solve your issue. As for it starts in 2D but goes to VC... you must have some key assignment connected to switch VC views that's being triggered in some way.
All I did was re-install. I changed the 2-D setting yesterday... I did have a switch assigned to it that (I think) was causing it to instantly go to VC when the NGX loaded. I deleted that assignment yesterday and it would stay in the 2-D, but still no FO engine starts. After the re-install of FS2Crew, the NGX stays in 2-D for about 5 seconds... then back to VC. Maybe something to do with EZDOK ??? The only key command to go to VC is default F9. I decided to re-install after reading another post in the Voice Control forum where re-install solved the user's problem... albeit it was a different problem than mine.

  11. After beating my FO into submission, he will now start the engines when I tell him to. Seriously though, I uninstalled FS2Crew and re-installed it. This was driving me NUTS ! NOTE: After I did the re-install, the NGX cockpit starts off in 2-D... then it DOES go back to VC during the initialization of NGX.

  12. Hi Morgan,If you want to have the updated sids/stars etc, yes.You can if you know it, or you can put in whats expected to be the arrivaldelete any discontinuity and check the rnp against the required rnp for departure
ok, so having the current AIRAC is NOT necessary for the FO to accept the CDU settings on the checklist ?I need to study up on checking the 'rnp against the required rnp for departure' that you are talking about.Too bad the FO cannot just tell me what it is in the FMC he does not jive with. Oh well.

  13. Verify that the navigation data base ACTIVE date range is current.
Is this the AIRAC that must be updated periodically. I still get the 'nav database out of date' msg on my FMC when I fire it up... I have just been clearing it out. Do I need to update this from Navigraph ?
Select the runway and departure routing.
Just to be clear, I don't need to be putting in the ARR RNWY right ? I am pretty sure I don't, just want to cover the bases.
Verify or enter the correct RNP for the departure.
Make sure the LEGS section looks OK ???
Do not enter the ZFW into the GW boxes. The FMC will calculate performance data with significant errors.Enter the ZFW.If refueling is not complete, enter the PLAN trip fuel as needed.Verify that the fuel is sufficient for flight.Enter the Transition Altitude (the FO uses this altitude to call “Transition Altitude
I always click the LSK next to ZFW twice and NGX CDU fills this in. Is this an incorrect procedure ?I have been selecting fuel quantity from the 'FS Actions' area in CDU. either 1/3 2/3 or full. My transition altitude is already set at 18000, I understand it is 10000 in other parts of the world.
N1 LIMIT page:Select an assumed temperature, or a fixed derate takeoff, or both as needed.Select a full or a derated climb thrust as needed.
I used to enter 30 for OAT with TO-2 (I believe this was what was used in tutorial one) ... since then I read I could leave the OAT blank, which I have been doing.
Verify or enter an acceleration height.Verify or enter an engine out acceleration height.Verify or enter a thrust reduction altitude.
I will have to take a look at these.I clearly have lots to learn about this aircraft. Thanks for this breakdown. I will let you know if I can get that FO of mine to start the plane shortly.

  14. Hi Morgan,That's really weird.I've never seen an FSX aircraft changed views by itself after you loaded it... something is funky on your system. Please do this:1. Locate your FSX.CFG file.2. Make a backup copy of it.3. Delete the FSX.CFG file. It will rebuild when you load FSX.4. Load FSX.5. The Trike should be the default aircraft now, not the NGX.6. You're going to have to "trust" all the addons you have again... click yes for all of them.7. Go into the FSX Settings options menu and select "2D" cockpit as the one the gets loaded by default.8. You should now be loading the NGX in the "cleanest way" possible.9. Do "not" make your NGX the default aircraft that gets loaded. PMDG recommends against that, and I suspect it may be the source of some of your issues.10. Try everything again and see if your FO behaves better now that you've started fresh and clean.Failing that, PM me and I'll help you via Remote Desktop.
I found a button setting that was causing my 2-D cockpit to switch to VC. So that is solved and NGX loads up with no problems in 2-D. FO saying 'you might want to check that' about my CDU/FMC setup. What values MUST be entered before FO is happy with the CDU ?

  15. I'm not sure actually. Are the packs required for pressurization?
I am still learning all the systems... I just know I got the beep-beep-beep, silenced it with the Alt Horn Cutout button and noticed it was nearly freezing in the cabin. The packs were off in my case.

  16. Hi Morgan,No, you don't need to physically load the trike first. On my system, I see the Trike in the Free Flight screen when I first load FSX, then I open the NGX from the main FSX menu.I don't actually load the Trike first and be in it's cockpit. You don't need to.I should point out though that other users have the NGX as the default aircraft (not the trike) and they report no issues. But computers are like people... every one behaves differently... so hopefully this will help you.Best,
Gotcha. I will report back after work when I get a chance to re-build the CFG file.

Ok, I will try this after work today. Just for the record... should the Trike always be the default aircraft in FSX ? Do I need to actually load a flight with the trike, and then close it and load the NGX ?Also, is there any certain order I should re-run the setup for EZDOK, FS2Crew, AS2012, and Orbx PNW while 'rebuilding' my CFG file ? Thanks Bryan !
