  1. Despite the fact the fact that FSX is 70%-75% CPU bound, the other 25%-30% is based on your graphics card. So, you should see a noticeable increase in performance as the GTX470 is a vastly more powerful card than the 250 . I remember when some of the magazine articles I read said that my 9800GT was better than the 260. I was having problems flying over dense scenery on approach to London Heathrow airport. It really got frustrating for me when my machine would stutter as this definitely caused the illusion of flight to just get lost!!!!!! So, I upgraded to the 260 to see what would happen. Despite what the magazine articles said, I noticed an immediate improvement to my overall frame-rates. I could fly over the same patch of scenery that was causing stutters with my 9800GT using the 260 with NO problems!!! And that was BEFORE I installed the Aerosoft London city scenery & Heathrow airport. Now, the addition of that scenery did decrease frame-rates a liitle bit. And, the decrease was noticeable. But, not to the point of any stutters!! So, since the GTX hasa faster processor speed & more processors on that card, I think you will find that all other things on your computer staying the same, you will find a noticeable improvement in frame-rates. Check out some films on Youtube. Do a search for FSX GTX480. The GTX470 is not as good as a GTX480, but, that should give you an idea of the performance you could be looking at. Now, his machine specs are a little bit different than yours, but it should give you some idea. Good luck!
