FSX CTD When loading Flight Plan On The FMC!
update on the matter above: turns out, a thorough uninstall/reinstall cycle took care of my CTD problems... Guess it wasn't the same thing experienced here after all, even though it sounded just like it, judging by the way it happens oh well, this is a good thing then, my problem is fixed and the original bug doesn't extend as far as I suspected - even though I don't really know what was causing it - reinstalling fixed it, so I'm happy now  cheers!

FSX CTD When loading Flight Plan On The FMC!
any news on this? - I believe I might be having the same issue, if a flight plan is loaded (even one on the default FSX "IFR" doohickey) the whole thing collapses and leaves me staring at my desktop as soon as I flip the power for the avionics... quite frustrating - and somewhat out of the blue too.... I got little to no idea why or how it simply "started" doing that  another guess could be that the AIRAC databases are mismatched, as I seem to have the FSX navdata up to a more recent cycle than I have for PMDG... yet I don't recall if the J41 even needs such a database, well - I'll check into that here... I'll let you know if this is or isn't this same problem... I mean, the symptoms match... at least

HUGE problem help
i was getting that same problem.... i fired up process explorer (the one from sysinternals.com) and lowered the searchhosts task priority to the lowest possible level ("idle")...hasn't bothered me since... now it only "indexes" stuff when the system is idling - which by all means, excludes ANY time when FSX and TP are on i could just shut the indexer down... but first, i kinda need it, so searching my folders (which are many) doesn't take forever - and second, windows just brings it back up if i put it out of its misery... so this solution works the best....and i did find both FSX and TP will enjoy a higher thread priority... just make sure TP gets a higher one than FSX, or else it can't do it's much needed monitoring work and if you're using a joystick profiler, like the one used by Saitek sticks, you gotta bump it up to the same priority of FSX, otherwise, your controls get unresponsive and it brings all sort of doom upon your flght...
