Hi: I am using FSX and Windows 7. Lately I have been having FSX crash on (Fatal Error) . I looked in the Win Logs and got a mesage saying the faulty module was livingwater.dll,and also that the faulty path was fsx.exe. I have no idea what these are. I understand that this is a rather common problem , having something to do with FSX being 32b and Win 7 being 64 bit. I would really appreciate some help with this. It dos not happen all the time but is very annoying. Thanks Ralph33

Hi Firehawk 44. My problem has been fixed. The problem was that as I was using Air Hauler which uses FSX. There was a file (AHX.mdb) missing in the Air Hauler folder. This file is needed to get the application running. I reinstalled the Air Hauler program and the file is there now and all works fine now.I have no idea how the file went missing in the first place. Just thought I would let you know. Thanks for your help on this matter.

Hi again Jim: yes I have norton.I disabled norton temporally with no change. The error still occurs. I was thinking of restoreing my computer to before the problem occured. I checked it out and I can restore it back to a few days ago. I think this may get rid of the problem. Do you think this is a good idea?

Hi Jim, thanks for the reply. I am trying to find Resident Shield on my computer. I want to disable it. to see if it fixes the problem. It says to go to tools/advance settings and uncolaps resident shields and uncheck enable resident shield. Where in win7 is tools?

I am using fsx and have a program called air hauler. when i start air hauler i get an error message "unhandled exception" which prevents me from using the program. Can anyone tell me what the problem is an how to fix it?

Hi Paul. I did as you said. And everything went smoothly. All works fine. I can now use the acceleration. When I tried to load it before I must have tried to load it with SP2 already there. Thanks Paul for your help and also the the others. Ralph

i am a bit confused about installing Acceleration. I just installed SP1 and SP2 and it improved FSX. In order to install Acceleration I now have to remove SP1 and SP2 which returns me to the basic FSX installation. Then install Acceleration which includes SP2. Is this correct?I suppose if it does not work out I can always uninstall it all and then reinstall. Also when I look in my program listing all I see is Microsoft Flight Simulator x Service Pack 2I don't see Service Pack 1 How do I remove SP1 and SP2 and leave the basic FSX program in order to install Acceleration.

Thanks for the help. I installed SP1 and SP2 as you said. No problems the scenery looks much better and it works fine. One other thing. With fsx gold there is an acceleration disk. I tried installing that awhile ago and had problems. Errors came up and i am reluctant to instll it again. Is there a special proceedure to install it?

Do i require SP1 and SP2. and briefly what do they do for fsx. I looked at the site to download them and it specifies operating systems vista or xp. I am running windows 7. Does that make a difference?

All i have is the basic program fsx.Should i have sp2?

I have been using fsx for about 2 months now and find the scenery much better than fs9, however i find that fsx is unstable. I crashes or freezes every so often. whereas fs9 is rock solid. i was wondering if there are updates to the fsx program available since the original to fix this problem. Would appreciate some advice. I found my problem. I removed all my saved flights. Somehow one of the flights was causing the problem , I have no idea why. I am back to the original default flight and can now change the seasong ok.

I can't seem to change the season in fs9. It is always set on a winter scene. I tried the normal way and I can change the settings but when I return to the flight the season is always winter. Do I have somethng set to make it winter all the time? Sure would like some help with this.

I am using fsx with window 7. I encountered a strange thing while flying from Munich (EDDM) to Gatwick (EGKK). When flying across the English Channel I came upon brown barrier (like a large wall). I was flying at 3000ft and when I passed through this barrier all of a sudden I was flying at 30000ft. This was a big suprise . I was close to Gatwick so I changed course to give myself time to lower my altitute down for landing. Has anyone seen this before, if so do you know what the fix is.I guess it has to do with the scenery settings. Ralph

I am using fsx win7. I am having trouble when flying turboprops,Dash8 ect. When I am on the ground the aircraft wants to move forward and I have to keep the brake on. when I taxi the speed goes up very fast and I cannot control it. On landing , the same problem to get the speed down. I am using a logitech wingman 2 joystick . I must be doing something wrong. Would appreciate some advice.

I am using fsx on windows 7. Everything works fine except when I try to load a certain aircraft .For example when I try to load Fairchild sa227ac metro III. Most of the time it stops fsx. I can load any other aircraft ok. I then load another aircraft and when loaded I change aircraft to the Metro III and all is ok. It will fly ok. But if I want to save the flight it saves ok , and when I want to fly the saved flight it stops fsx every time. If before I save it I change to another aircraft then save. I can fly that saved flight. I then change aircraft to the Metro and carry on flying. It seems that that particular aircraft is not completely compatible with fsx. I don't know. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks Ralph

Hi Loyd. I have given up on trying to install the expansion pack for now. I started up fsx again and now I don't see the aircraft at all on the aircraft display. I get an error message." visual model could not be displayed aircreatiion 582sl red". I have not a clue what happened. I assume that the accleration pack caused it. Have you any idea how I can correct this/Thanks Ralph

I am trying to install the accleration expansion pack in fsx. Using windows 7. I start the install and after a bit I get a message saying it cannot access file "default.xml" I found that file in the Autogen folder. Do I have to give permission to the install program to use this file? If so how is it done?

I am trying to install fsx acceleration expansion pack. All goes well for about 5 minutes and then I get an error message. Stating that it cannot access a file called default.xml which is in the fsx autogen folder. I think I have to give the install program permission to access this file. If that is the case, how do I do that?Thanks Ralph

Removed Sp2 and it worked well , Did not loose any files. Thanks for the help.

Hi Loyd: Thanks for the info. You say that uninstalling SP2 will restore FSX to the previous version. Before I do that I want to make sure of something. I have installed addon scenery and VA airplanes and AI data using Edit Voice Pack. Will uninstalling SP2 remove the addons I mentioned and leave me in a situation where I have to reinstall all these addons? I hate to be so clueless but I want to be sue it will leave eveything I installed after the inital installation of FSX.Thanks Ralph
