  1. Well I uninstalled Logitech's Gaming Profiler and it all works now. So thanks for everyones help.
  2. Ya ive posted there but havent gotten any replies for a week. its getting pretty depressing lol
  3. @ SawyerI dont have the option to check that. I think it's different for the g940
  4. Lol hey I meant no disrespect. Sorry if it came across that way. It's just frustrating that one min it works. Next day I turn it on and run fsx, then it's back to not working.
  5. Ya i know, that's what you're supposed to do. Otherwise it won't send any button assignments to the game.
  6. 53 views and no one can help??? common guys! i wanna start flying again!!
  7. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, so if it's not, please move. I recently finished mapping all the keystrokes to my g940 using the Logitech gaming profiler. Now when I go into fsx, it doesn't recognize I did anything. The only thing that works are the axis's and a couple random butting I didn't program. I don't think anything is wrong with the g940 since it's works flawlessly in other games. Anyone have an idea?
  8. I don't know if I'd go that far. Yeah their dealings in the customer supper realm have shown their true colors. Having said that, and as mentioned before, there are other great places, this site in particular, that offer great, free advice and support for games/add-ons like the superbug. Though I am very disappointed with their decision to deny me support based on where I bought the program, I do not regret it. I think the pros of the program overshadow the cons (not by much but enough to not regret it). But if support directly from the company is your main concern, well then it's not even a question. But if you're able to get support elsewhere, like here, I'd definitely get it. It's looking like this thread is going around in circles. I think it'd be pretty safe to assume that everyone agrees that their customer support practices are a bit off and discriminatory. However they do offer and incredible product. If they offered the full support to all paying customers, whether they bought it from their website or best buy or frys or whatever, they'd be top notch. Period.
  9. That is what VRS does. When you buy the program, whether it's from a store or from their website, you get a printed registration code and password (the boxed version) and you have to register it to even view the forum. Same procedure as when you buy it from the website. I guess the registration codes have special sequence in there that let's them know if you bought it from them or a store. It's stupid.
  10. Well after some reading I gathered that, to do anything really useful, I would need to buy the payware version. :(
  11. Hey thanks a lot! I will def have to read the manual. Though this might be covered in the manual, I'm curious if FSUIPC4 "sees" the three different modes the g940 offers (the switch on the throttle). Also, what are you using your r1 and r2 dials for?
  12. Ha I guess I didn't know it couldn't or didn't do that. Mine has always done that automatically. Everytime I start fsx it always starts free flights at current time of the airport.
  13. So I recently bought the Logitech G940 flight system. Absolutely love it (minus a couple things, i.e. the lights on the throttle unit don't change color as advertised, etc).my question is, does anyone else out there have the g940 and using it relatively well with the VRS superbug in fsx? My problem is trying to figure out which program I need to use to map all the keystrokes to the superbug. I know you have to have this other third-party program (I don't remember the name of it) to run superbug in fsx. I have it (obviously) but it's the free version. Now while VRS says you don't have to have the paid version, they recommend it because the free version doesn't map the keys as well as the paid one does. For instance, one example they give it the firing command. In the paid version, you can map the keys to your joystick using the third-party program so that when you hold down the trigger for a second then let it go to fire the missle, bomb, etc. The free version limits that ability to where you have to press the fire button twice to release the selected weapon. In addition, they claim that some of the programs take higher priority over other ones, in regards to key mapping. However they don't specify which ones and in what order. So I'm at a little bit of a loss in figuring out which program to use to map the keys: logitech's profile manager, superbugs ACM, fsx, or the other third-party program. Anyone have any first hand experience with this? I'd great appreciate it!
  14. Yes but if you read what I said, if you buy the boxed version, you can only view the forum. You can not post new threads or ask any public questions. You basically get ZERO support for buying the same product from a different supplier. All because they are afraid of helping someone who may have pirated the software; ya that makes a lot of sense. Hey guys. Did I mention you have to supply the license number and password provided with the copy I purchased just to even sign up to "use" the forum?? Yes, that's right. Even after providing them the license number and password (needed to register and install the product in the first place) which is in the sealed box with the DVD, just to view the forum, they still won't let you ask or post anything. (I know that was all kinda redundant. Guess I wanted to make that very clear how ridiculous their policy is). Thank you. I really hope the word gets out there as a warning to future buyers. Having said this i want to make this clear: I'm in no way saying "don't buy this plane"! This plane is AWESOME! the detail and textures and sound, not to mention the ability to customize weapon loadouts and actually fire them in fsx is incredible. I'd definitely buy it again. However, all I'm saying is if you plan to buy it from best buy or frys or any place like that, other than the website itself, don't expect to get ANY support from VRS at all.
  15. Here is what their website says, according to the admin that only sent me a link and nothing else:CUSTOMERS WITH DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS MAY NEED TO OBTAIN SEPARATE SUPPORT SUBSCRIPTIONS If you can't post messages, it means your license is tied to a SKU with a steeply discounted price, probably through Best Buy or another "brick and mortar" retailer such as GameStop. The margins VRS actually receives on these units is so small that we can't possibly provide interactive support. We realize this is an inconvenience, but we cannot afford to pay personnel to provide technical support when we literally make under $5/copy on the software you purchased. YOUR ISSUE HAS PROBABLY ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED It is highly likely that simply using the FAQs or the search facility will quickly yield the answer to the vast majority of questions. START with the FAQs and stickies in the forums. If your problem is activation related, and ONLY activation related, you may send an email to support[at]vrsimulations.com and INCLUDE YOUR LICENSE ID in the email.IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO UPDATE YOUR SUPPORT LEVEL, but are currently ineligible, a support option may be purchased from your customer page at additional cost. Once you've purchased a support upgrade, you can elevate your forum permissions by visiting the License Update page and typing in your license ID and license password Note that the purchase of a separate support option does not entitle you to violate forum policy. If you are angry, disgruntled, or otherwise prone to lash out, please do it someplace else. VRS requires all of our visitors to be respectful, and in return we will be diligent in solving your problem. That says it all. I buy a licensed copy and get no support. Poor customer service. Like ryanbatcund said, "Either make it clear on the box you won't get support or don't distribute it to Best Buy."
  16. You say its a win/win for both parties... who are these parties you talk about? the developer and people who paid more for the same product through their website? what about the people who legitimately buy the software from other sources, like bestbuy? i guess they are the ones that lose according to you. Several people on here have mentioned the same solution to your "pirating" problem. Provide a license number and password that come with the legitimate software. Done.
  17. I purchased my copy of the addon (which by the way is absolutely incredible!) at bestbuy. It was 30 bucks. I had a couple problems mapping keys to my g940 and so I decided I'd go to the forum and ask some questions. What happened next?I couldnt start my own thread or reply to anything on the forum. I emailed the admin and asked why I couldn't post questions. All I got in response was a link to a thread posted by himself. Nothing else. This thread stated that only people who buy the addon directly from them at full price ($44.99) would be able to get full support from vrs. Other owners of the program, like myself, are restricted to only VIEW the forums. Here is their reason for this: By selling our product to the big "brick and mortar" stores, we only make $5 a copy and cannot afford to pay someone to resolve issues by owners who paid $15 less for the program. I replied to his email telling him that their policy was completely ridiculous and I'd be sure to let everyone know about their sub-par customer service. He never replied. As I told him, amazing product, horrible customer service. Does this mean I regret buying it? No. But that just means any problems I have, I have to rely on other people outside the forum for help.I purchased my copy of the addon (which by the way is absolutely incredible!) at bestbuy.
