  1. Many thanks for your prompt reply. In ADE (Airport Design Editor) I am told that the headings are all True headings. May I assume the following:- FSX and Jepperson Plates are all Magnetic (as you said). Therefore in order to bring the ADE airport bgl up to date and in line with the Jep. Plates I must change the RWY and ILS details to conform with the Magnetic headings and so bring the FSX airport to the correct configuration. Does the AIRAC cycle have any influence on this or is it solely concerned with the aircraft nav system eg. FMC. Also, can a ILS be offset to the runway center line and if so what are the allowed amounts.
  2. Are the runway and ILS headings in FSX True or Magnetic headings. I ask this because I am updating some bgl files in ADE for us in FSX and there seems to be some difference in opinions as to which are correct, true or magnetic. Also which are indicated in a Jepperson Chart.
  3. I seem to remember asking the following question but cannot for the life in me find the answer. How do I change the height of the tower view in FSX and what are the parameters that I must alter ?
  4. This is a AFCAD file so I think that I can do away with the texture folder. Many thanks to you both for your prompt replies and help.
  5. Is it therefore necessary to include this empty 'texture' folder or can the folder be deleted ?
  6. I have developed new scenery .bgl files for FS9 and added them to the Scenery Library. My new files consist of a Folder (eg. EGLL), within this folder is:- a) Scenery folder (containing the EGLL.bgl file) and b)a textures folder (which is empty). Now while this structure is ok. in FS9 Win7 OS. someone has mentioned to me that the folder structure is not ok with Win XP OS and will return a 'Out of memory' message or some such thing. Can anyone throw a light on this. .
  7. Have solved my problem, I hope. Found that after saving my FSC flight plan I must then load it from Creat a Flight/Flight Planner in FS2004. This then moves my a/c to start airport where I can then see the plan in the GPS. Sorry for any confusion, as I said in my first post, this maybe a stupid question, it was. Many thanks to all contributions.
  8. They are present in this folder, it is also pathed in FSC Otions/Flight Plans. Yes it does. No. Have done. Also done.I have just checked the Select a Flight menu and non of the FSC created flights appear there.
  9. As far as I am aware, using the a/c 421C from Flight1 with its GPS system I must load a flight plan from within FS2004. As I cannot find any of my flight plans created with FSC, even though I have the correct path in FSC to the FS2004 Flight Simulator Files folder, non of my saved FSC flights appear in the Flight Plan Selection list. The flight plans which do appear apparently come from the Flight Simulator Files folder all have the .wx and Microsoft endings to the files. Non of the .pln data appears in the Flight Plan Selection list therefore I cannot use them in my 421C GPS. I found that if I generate a plan from within FS2004 (.wx and Microsoft data) that works OK but at the same time I cannot make alterations to such a plan.
  10. This may be a stupid question but here goes. I am using FS Commander 8 to develope flight plans and save them in Flight Simulator Files folder. When I go to load one of these plans in FS9, so that I can use it with GPS, I cannot find it in the plans list as this is saved as .pln and not as WX and Microsoft FlightSim data. I have selected the correct folder in FS Commander. What am I doing wrong. OS is Windows 7, Flight Sim is FS2004.
  11. Wow! that link is something special, many many thanks.
  12. I have searched all 4 FS9 disks but cannot find any Eurw/scenery on any of them. Can you give me a clue as to the where abouts ?
  13. Many thanks to you both for your replies. Unfortunately with me none of them worked. With the xml files maybe I have the wrong format when pasting. With ADE I go to the stock airport EBBR. Select the two generic buildings I want to remove by Left clicking to select the object and from the drop down menu choose 'Delete Object'. Tried to save as FS2004/Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004/Scenery/Eurw/sceneryAP949130.bgl (stock EBBR bgl) but am only allowed to save as an ADE file. Tried compiling this to the same end source (AP949130.bgl), was informed this file existed did I want to overwrite, answered Yes. and the file was apparently saved. Opened ADE once again at the same stock airport but the two buildings had re-appeared. Tried the 'Extend Compile' but with the same result. Any ideas. Please note that I am not a experienced scenery designer, just need all the help I can get.
  14. So far I have been succesful in removing Windsocks and Taxi signs using ExcBuilder in FS9. My question is:- is it possinle to create multiple xml files eg. ????Taxi.xml, ????windsock.xml and ????Building.xml where only one building is covered by the 'bounding box', not the entire airport, and then combining these xml files into one, and creating a .bgl file from this combined xml. I have the use of XmlSpy, a xml editor but how would I convert this (if succesful) into a bgl
  15. I have done some conversion work on EBBR (Brussels) using the FSX stock airport as base and then converting with FSX2FS9 to a FS9 bgl. In the conversion pocess I excluded Library Objects, Taxi signs and windsocks. When I open FS9 I see that some parking places are covered with buildings. Is there anyway I can reposition these buildings. I realize that I can reposition the parkings but that is not the object of this exersize. I do this conversion as I act as Ground Control with a mixed (FSX and FS9) group of German online flyers and it is a distinct advantage, also in Euroscope,to have both sims display the same (or nearly) airport layouts.
  16. Thanks for the info. Now works a treat. Was a little puzzled as how to use the .bgl but have now sassed it out, I hope.
  17. I have done as you suggested, followed all the instructions (to a T?) installed MSXML and ran the utility (With FS9 running stock airport). It created a XML file<?xml version="1.0"?><FSData version = "9.0" xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd" > <ExclusionRectangle latitudeMinimum = "55,9538095892808" latitudeMaximum = "55,9537228231669" longitudeMinimum = "-3,35643435726094" longitudeMaximum = "-3,35643849484108" excludeWindsockObjects = "TRUE" /></FSData>but no .bgl file. Any help on this ?
  18. Following my succesful deletion of taxiway signs in FSX (Taxiway signs theme) I now find that I have a windsock in the middle of a taxiway. This would seem to be from the stock airport in FS9 (EGPH). Is there anyway of deleting this object ?
  19. Many thanks for all your info. The last solution from John works fine but I went to the Mode menu, clicked on Create Exclusion Rectangles and for some reason it put exclusions around all taxisigns, no idea why. When I clicked on Create Taxiway Signs as John said I found that it only opened a new create taxisign symbol. Maybe this is something with my system but anyway as I said it works just fine. Thanks again one and all.
  20. I have been doing some work converting FSX.bgl to FS9.bgl as follows. I first use Airport Design Editor (ADE) to open a stock airport then compile this .bgl. As next I use fsx2fs9 (with taxisigns unchecked in strip box) to convert to FS9. So far all is good. Using Airport Facilitator X (AFX) and FS9 I then compare the parkings to make sure non of them collide or intrude on the FS9 buildings etc. If so I either move the parkings slightly or when not feasable delete them. I have noticed that the taxiway signs from FSX are o/k but the taxisigns from FS9 are still existant in the 'new' bgl, although they do not show in AFX. Is there some way that I can delete these FS9 taxiway signs. I belong to a group of flight simmis using both FSX and FS9 and act as Ground Controller using Euroscope hence the need to bring both Flusis in line with one another. BTW I use bgl2sct to convert the 'new' FS9 bgl to data that is usable in Euroscope. Help would be most welcome.
  21. Many many thanks. Clear and concise explanation. Will try out later today and hope it works so that I can pass on the info to my German friends.
  22. I belong to a group (German) of online flyers (IFR) of which I take the role of Ground Controller. As in our group there are FS9 and FSX users there is often a conflict between the airport details which can be confusing in the Euroscope map. To this end I try to produce a bgl file for FS9 using the data from FSX. As, to the best of my knowledge there is yet no way of converting FSX bgl's to FS9 bgl's I do this by hand. Using 2 monitors and the two programms AFX and ADE to transfer the airport details from FSX to FS9 and then save the FS) bgl. I then convert this data bgl to the relevant files necessary for Euroscope using the programm bgl2sct. While this conversion is succesful a few of my companions are doubtfull about inserting the bgl file into the FS9/Addon Scenery/Scenery file as they do not know how this will effect any third party sceneries of the same name as my bgl file. Can anyone explain the Addon Scenery priorities for example when I use Aerosoft EGLL and wish to use my 'home brewed' EGLL.bgl in any of the Simulations be it FS9 or FSX.OS is WIN 7

  24. I have done some work in ADE on the stock Airport EGLL, adding taxiways, reforming 05/23 into a taxiway and also adding new taxiway signs. Compiled the bgl file as EGLL_FSX. When I loaded this file into Addon Scenery/scenery folder and then started FSX at EGLL there was no change to the stock airport. I then tried loading the bgl directly into the Addon Scenery Folder, again without any succes in FSX.It was only after experimenting with additional folders (EGLL/scenery/EGLL_FSX.bgl) within the Addon Scenery folder that I had succes(Addon Scenery/EGLL/scenery/EGLL_FSX.bgl). Now I am faced with the problem that when I remove these additional folders I get the message when starting FSX as follows:- SCENERY.CFG file error. Local scenery directory (Addon Scenery\EGLL\SCENERY) in scenery Area.115 not found. Click OK to continue.Any ideas what I can do ?
  25. Many thanks, all is now well.
