  1. I have P3Dv3.4 installed on my J/SSD. My C/SSD is limited to about 18gb free space. I would like to install P3Dv5 on a HD partition whilst keeping the v3.4. As this one is already registered on my C drive will the v5 require more space on this C drive.
  2. I am using the free version of PTA and noticed that the taxi sign colour yellow is so bright that I cannot read them. Anyone have any idea which parameter controls this 'brightness'.
  3. Windows10 P3D v3.4.14.18870 FSX to Prepar3D Migration Tool v 3.2.0.1011 Installed FSCopilot as Administrator, (Already installed o/k in FSX) Opened FSInn UI as Administrator from Start Menu. Checked 'Chat' then closed FSInn. In P3D main folder checked in the Modules folder, FSCopilot.dll (712kb) is present. Ran P3D as Administrator and the message 'Unknown FS version, version=300' appeared. Checked the OK button. In Add-ons menu only FSUIPC showed, no FSCopilot. Any help on this one ?
  4. OS Windows 10 latest update. FSX Acceleration (Gold) I installed FSInn (Ran as administrator) in the folder C:\FSX Add-Ons\FSFDT using the guide 'FSInn in 20 minutes' by Andre Koloschin (English Version 2.04). Restarted PC. Without Flight Simulator running I started the application once "FSInnUI.exe" as administrator from the the FSFDT application in the start menu. Once it started I clicked on "Chat" and then closed the application. Restarted PC once again. On running FSX I get the message - "Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". Ignored this and opened FSCopilot from within the Addon menu in FSX. FSCopilot loaded but took about 2 to 3 minutes to display. On trying to use the SET button on the FSCopilot display I then got the message ' Failed to create FSCopiltFSInn settings (CWNDF98MAIN=ad56e24)'. COMDLG32.ocx is present in C:\Windows\SysWOW64. I then opened a cmd prompt and entered the following string :- C:\WINDOWS\system32>CD C:\Windows\SysWOW64 Enter C:\Windows\SysWOW64>Regsvr32 COMDLG32.ocx Enter C:\Windows\SysWOW64> I got the message - "DllRegisterServer in comdlg32.ocx succeeded" Restarted PC. Ran FSX but again I got the same message - "Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". Addon menu in FSX shows - Ifly737, FSCopilot, Instant Scenery and FSUIPC. Any help would be appreciated as I am totally confused.
  5. Many thanks vortex681 I have done this following the guide from Jim Padgett, all is well. Now this may be a silly question but is it also possible to move my Prepar3D v3 from the C drive to the ssd, if so what would be the mklink command and what folders (Lockeed) should I move.
  6. I have the following on my C:\ drive, FSX Gold with FSUIPC non-registered plus many FSX Addons eg. Aircraft, scenery etc. I now wish to transfer FSX and FSUIPC together with the addons to a new SSD drive. Could someone please explain how I can do this in a safe and easy manner. I am not very computer savvy so a simple explanation would be most welcome. OS is Win 7.
  7. I have just downloaded two freeware terrain mesh data, FSX Alps 38m and FSX France 38m by Raimondo Taburet and Emile De Mesmaeker. These seem to overlap so can I use both meshes at the same time in FSX by activating them in the Scenery Library.
  8. I have tried the Multi Player tower into a flyable aircraft using the information provided by spokes2112 posted 17.May.2013 in which he states '4. Copy the .air file from the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aircreation_582SL and paste it into the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\ControlTower folder.' I have posted a request in this topic but as yet no reply. Can anyone please help me with the following. Where do I find this ".air" file as I cannot find it in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aircreation_582SL location or could someone post me the file?.
  9. Where do I find this ".air" file as I cannot find it in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aircreation_582SL location.
  10. Flying the iFly 737NG When landing at EIDW on ILS RWY28 I am finding myself postioned to the right of the runway. The Jepperson Charts (2012) show the ILS as having a course of 279 degrees. The bgl file that I am using shows, in ADE and AFX, a course of 275.3 (True). Although I have not landed at the other ILS runways at this airport I imagine that they are the same namely the aircraft lands to the left/right of actual runway. In my aircraft FSC everything looks o/k and I have the course correctly set on the course panel (279). How can I correct the bgl file to allow me to land on runway centerline. I have tried the magvar corrector but to no avail, it still shows the ADE and AFX headings.
  11. I am in the process of developing with ADE from the FSX stock EDDC airport a new one to comply with the latest Jepperson Files and AIRAC. I see from the Runway Properties in ADE that the Heading (from Base End) is 40.87 True and the ILS Properties for 04 is 40.87 True and for 22 is 220.87 True. In the Jepperson Charts, and I presume also in the latest AIRAC these headings are for RWY04 39 Degrees and for RWY22 219 Degrees. My question is:- should I change these headings from those quoted in the stock airport to those indicated in the Jepperson Charts and also what is the difference between True and Magnetic headings and what, if any, part do they play in FSX. Sorry if this is a dumb question but my grey matter is in this case a little grey.
  12. As far as I can see, FlussFix does not have the capability of isolating CPU cores. Will contact my German friends to find out more on this tool and keep the forum informed, maybe it is a useful program.
  13. Several of my German friends have informed me of a small program called easy toolz which is supposed to improve FSX performance by isolating the first two cores in a multi core cpu. I have really no idea what they are talking about and am reluctant to experiment with such a program. Can anyone shed some light on this ie. is the program safe, is it a download or does it come with Windows 7.
  14. Seems to have cured the freezing, will do more flights (already 6 done) and hope everything goes o/k. Many thanks for all your help. Kevin.
  15. Sorry Jonathan I feel such a fool. I was selecting LBS and MD11F when this will only give me payload and not pax. With only Lbs selected your planner works perfectly. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
  16. Thanks John for a long awaited MD11 fuel planner (v 1.2.0). Just something that I observed today using it for the first time. When I select Lbs as weight, both in MD11 Load Manager and in Fuel Planner, with FSX running I then go to my FSX.exe and double click as stated, the fuel planner then closes. On rerunning it, selecting Lbs and MD11 then Get Payload there are no pax details, the cargo weight shows as 142894 (MD11 LM is 56163). If I do not select the Lbs and MD11 boxes and only select FSX as sim I then get the correct figures as shown in the MD11 LM. Not a serious problem, maybe I am doing something wrong but can get round it. Once again, many thanks. Kevin
  17. have used appcrashview but it does not show any FSX crash from todays date (04.08.2013) but FSX did indead freeze and closed down today. It does however show some other FSX crashes from before, the latest being on the 02.08.2013. Maybe if I submit this one it could show some indications ?
  18. When the errors occured I was not online but I fly with a German Group of flyers using our local network client. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium ver 6.1.7600, AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor, 8.00 GB RAM, ST310005 28AS SATA Disk Device, AMD Radeon HD 6570. Will use appcrash next time out. I do not think that this has anything to do with Global Weather but I did notice that the errors occured after the last and susequent updates for this programm. Will try and run without FSGW.
  19. FSX suddenly stopped running and froze. Clicking on the close button brought up several options eg. Search Internet for a solution etc. There was also a Problem Report as shown under. I made sure that my T/C and T/D were suitably seperated and this problem occured during the Descent phase of the flight. My OS is Windows 7, FSX is with Acceleration and the only addons are German Airports 3, PMDG MD11 (Occured whilst flying this aircraft) amd FS Global Weather (active at this time). Problem signature: Problem Event Name: AppHangB1 Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.61637.0 Application Timestamp: 46fadb14 Hang Signature: f7fc Hang Type: 0 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Hang Signature 1: f7fc88831a14516a1a53b7dc654b9c89 Additional Hang Signature 2: 0a03 Additional Hang Signature 3: 0a0361110b548a85e6238b8d704beae7 Additional Hang Signature 4: f7fc Additional Hang Signature 5: f7fc88831a14516a1a53b7dc654b9c89 Additional Hang Signature 6: 0a03 Additional Hang Signature 7: 0a0361110b548a85e6238b8d704beae7 Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I fly online and crashes like this are very annoying. PS. I re-installed FSX and addons in the hope that this would be a cure as the crashes occured before, but the error still persists.
  20. Did as you suggested, no joy, still the same. Have just done a re-install but still the same problem.
  21. It is some time since I used the MD11 but now after a long pause I decided to re-install the prog. Everything seemed to go well, update to v1.2? all o/k. On opening FS9 and going to 2D cockpit view there is no cockpit!. All I get is a dummy panel and a Main panel in reduced window size. The main panel has no 'see through' windows. When I click on a 'hotspot' the selected panel appears behind the Main Panel. All panels are undockable. When undocked I am left with a cockpit view sans cockpit. VC seems to work o/k but navigation in side this view is terrible. Frustrated as I prefer to fly with 2D cockpit.
  22. One last question I hope, but many thanks for your very clear explanation. Question is, from which source does the aircraft nav system (PMDG, IFly FMC/FMS) get the ILS information. If it is from the airport bgl file (AFCAD or other) then all is well and good, if it is from AIRACS cycle could also be well and good, but if there is a difference between the bgl file and AIRACS then problems could arise with the relevant FMC/FMS rejecting the ILS heading as wrong.
