  1. Agreed.I applied a little grease over the interior moving parts and it's smooth as butter! I couldn't afford anything else so I made do.
  2. Yep true. What I try to do though is (from watching clips, pictures, etc.) try and workout where the average pilots eye level is in relation to a spot in the cabin such as the head-rest of the seat. Then try and position my view to be roughly in the same spot. It's easy enough to but but creates the problem I wrote above about the HUD image.
  3. I was thinking this exact same question just this morning.I'm currently using .50 without widescreen (even though I have a widescreen monitor). I find that enabling widescreen gives the sim too much of a fish-eyed appearance but that's just my personal taste.Something I am having trouble with though is adjusting the pilot's height to be in sinc with the zoom setting. If I set the height to be what seems about right (going by youtube clips and guesstimating roughly where the average pilot's eye-line is) then the image in the HUD displays with the lower half missing because my height position must be too low. But if I adjust it so all the full image is visible, It then it makes the rest of the cabin look as if I'm sitting too high in the seat.Is there a way to adjust the HUD image position without having to change my current sitting height in the cabin?I'm using EZDok to adjust the view positions, etc.Cheers
  4. Hi Pete,Yes I had ENBSeries running for a while when I started having problems but after removing it the problems still persisted for me.The two main things I did that helped get rid of the problem was...1. Updated to the latest graphics drivers (in my case it was ATI Catalyst 12.1 for Win7 x64).2. Updated to the latest Windows updates. The second one actually happened by accident (I normally have Windows Update turned off due to bad experiences in the past) but it helped get rid of the problem. An interesting point to mention.... I tried using the ENB Series again to see if it would work after the updates but on the first flight, the problem came back. I removed ENB and all was good again. There's a million different versions of the ENBSeries program floating around. My guess is there's a few dodgy ones out there. If anyone's using ENB without any problems, It would be great if you could share the link where you downloaded it from.
  5. Yes true. But they may have used different Bufferpools settings or no Bufferpools tweaks at all, or the same settings with different hardware, etc.Either way, it's working ok at the moment. I'll post again if (hopefully not when) the problem comes back.
  6. I think I've found the problem... but i'm unsure how to fix it.FSRecorder (posibly both FSRecorder and PMDG NGX combined) didn't like my bufferpools settings whcih were:[bufferpools]UsePools=0 RejectThreshold=102400PoolSize=2097152I changed the settings to this: [bufferpools]poolsize=490000000 After changing the Bufferpools... everything worked great. But I'm stuck with a decision. The previous bufferpools made FSX and PMDG run very smoothly for my system but at the cost of blackscreens when using FSRecorder, etc.The bufferpools I'm currently using cause no blackscreens at all but there's a noticable drop in smoothness. I may have to just switch between bufferpools when flying for fun and flying/making videos. The vid card I have is an ati 5870 1gb. I don't know a hell of a lot about bufferpools but I might try playing around with the parameters a bit and see what I can get away with (after backing-up ofcourse). Thx for the help Vonmar. It was your sugestion to have a look at the whole system configuration that helped me find the problem.
  7. Ahh sorry, I'd misunderstood what you meant. If I do not use time acceleration, or look at maps, etc (anything that changes the screen) then there are no problems. Here's my system: http://www.overclock.net/t/294838/the-cooler-master-690-club/13550#post_11247724I'm fairly sure it's a software issue as the same problem exists when running all hardware at stock settings.
  8. I'm not sure what you're asking about in regards to not using time acceleration for several flights but no, I haven't run a flight without using it.Takeoffs, descent, approach and landings are the most interesting part of simming for me. Cruise is fine for a while but gets boring quick. Having said that... I have let the sim run in cruise for an hour or more with no negative effects but then as soon as I tried x8 time acceleration, the problem comes back. Yep, My system is over-clocked but there's a few points to remember though...1. The problems only exist with the PMDG 737NGX (at this stage it's the only PMDG craft I have).2. I was able to fly the PMDG for about a week or so with no problems at all. Time acceleration, minimising and maximising the screen, looking at maps, changing weather/time all worked fine with no problems.3. I tried clocking the PC back to stock settings and still had the same problems. For the life of me... I can't figure out what changed that created the instability.
  9. Have had a couple of small wins but no real fix yet.I've found that switching back from x4 speed (as opposed to x8 speed) doesn't cause the graphics problems or black screens.Updating to the latest drivers (again) has stabalised things a little bit but not completely solved the problem. Now I can look at maps, change in flight time and switch between full screen and minimised screen about 70% of the time without problems.Where I am still get a problem is with using the FS Recorder "Instant Replay" which is a real big problem for me because I'm trying to make a few nice flight movies. Sometimes it's works great... other times it causes the black screen or other graphics issues.Again, I've only had these problems which the PMDG NGX 737-800.
  10. I have the same problem and it's extremely frustrating. Can't finish a flight. Every time I change from "x8 Speed" back to "Normal Speed" I get a black screen. Every time I try to come back from looking at the map I get a black screen. Every time I try to change the time in flight I get a black screen. For the first few week or so, everything was fine, no problems but now it's every flight and it only ever happens with the PMDG NGX.I had ENB running for a while but removed it in hope of solving the problem. It didn't.I removed the PMDG script from the FSX config file and let the plan have permissions again when restarting FSX and that actually fixed the problem. But only for one flight. The next day, the black screen came back again after looking at the map.My system is very powerful and has no problem running the PMDG NGX in fact I usually get great smoothness. It's beautiful to fly.I hope someone comes up with a fix for this soon because a lot of people waited a very long time and paid a lot money for this aircraft. Is it worth the high price tag? Absolutely 100% It's the best thing that's ever happened to FSX.I just wish little bugs like this got nailed quickly because I'd really like to be able to land the bloody thing some day! lol.
