  1. I have recently moved over to a W10 (Pro) and reloaded FS9, no cd patch etc etc. FS9 is running great as a stand alone system. However I cannot get AES to work at all. My last installation was version 2.41, and I had over 30 activated airports. I updated to W10 and then AES 2.45 and most of my airports are not recognised. I know AES uses the scenery.cfg file, so I checked that and noticed that the scenerys were not running in sequence and the layers were not matching. Never had that before, so sorted that with FSM tool. But AES just does not want to recognise my airports. Tried Aerosoft airport, freeware airports, other payware and most do not work. I did get Aerosoft BIKF to work. UAC off, everything run as administrator. Anyone able to offer help as at this rate my new rig has been a waste of money. Regards Simon
  2. My request here is simple. Did SkySpirit do models with Virtual Cockpits like POSKY did. I have the POSKY VC 200ER, 200LF, 200LRF and 300ER all with VC. But i like the few tweaks SkySpirit did to the external lights etc. I read on one thread that somebodey had found a 300ER with VC ....... but i have drawn a blank. Any help appreciated. Regards Simon
  3. Thank you all for your suggestions. I decided to keep running FS9 with my system, and to put FSX on the shelf for a while. I always fly from Heathrow as its my home airport and fly heavies, and AI at 100% is a must for me. I am using UK2000 and i ried it in FSX with no AI and got 10 FPS. My FS9 system with 100% AI and all the sliders on Max got 40 fps. One day i may decide to move over. Thank you all again. Simon
  4. Good Morning, After a few tweaks as per the AVSIM guide I am still only getting 10 frames at Heathrow without any AI traffic. Most of the sliders are on min or normal and I have to ask myself, why change to FSX ? I wanted the better graphics, I see no other benefit, and yet in order to run it I have to keep everything very low. I am going to have a look into what CPU I can upgrade to as that may be an option, as most articles I have read suggest I7 cpu for FSX. Thank you all for your help, I do greatly appreciate it. Regards Simon
  5. Thank you all for your replies and suggestions. I am only using the stock FSX aircraft at the moment, I tested using the A321 and 737 and all gave me very low FPS and an un flyable experience. I will try the Avsim FSX config guide and see if that helps. If not, as I do not have the money to build a new rig and then buy all my FS( add-ons for FSX I will probably have to shelve the move over just yet. I should have said I fly airliners into all the main airports with a lot of AI traffic, that's the experience I want, so maybe FSX isn't for me yet with my current rig. I wish you all a Happy New Year. Simon
  6. I have just moved over to FSX after using FS9 for nearly 10 years. I do not want to start a tread that others have previously started, but after reading, researching on this Forum, online, tutorials I am really at a loss with FSX, and I considered myself to know a reasonable amount with what works in MSFS and what doesn't. The issue is not new and covered many times before, moving from FS9 to FSX is such a drop in performance. And I have not moved all the setting sliders to the rights as I had in FS9 and I have no AI traffic yet installed. I have only installed one airport add-on which is London Heathrow just as a test bed. With everything on medium to low I only get 5-10 FPS, therefore totally un-flyable. I know FSX is a lot hungrier than FS9 therefore maybe my PC is just not up-to the job. My request here is not to start a debate on FSX V FS9, just an opinion if my rig should be able to run FSX with some AI and add-on scenery with medium settings. My set up is as follows; Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Intel i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz over clocked to 3.81 GHz 8 GB RAM NVIDIA Geoforce MSI GTX 660 Some initial feedback on my set up would be helpful so I can decide weither or not to make the massive move to FSX or put the software back on the shelf ! Many thanks in advance. Simon
  7. Hello, Can anybody help me with a repaint I have been looking for. American Airlines for the CLS 767-300 with winglets in the new colours, standard or One World. Have seen lots for Level D product but not the CLS product. Many thanks SImon
  8. Quick update. Added a few more of my add-ons tonight Frankfurt EDDF, Schipol EHAM and Paris LFPG. No stutters at any of these airports and the traffic is really heavy at these airports. So back to Heathrow for more tests. I then removed British Airways from the traffic files, and hey presto no stutters. I then removed all other traffic and left British Airways running and got the stutters. I am sure my set up should run FS9 with just one airline installed ! So its either the British Airways traffic plan or the ai aircraft , maybe a bad texture. I have tried a new British Airways flightplan, and still get stutters, so I think it maybe one of my British Airways textures. This may of course be a total coincidence ! Will report back tomorrow. Simon
  9. Dave & Ian, Really appreciate you taking the time to assist me. Seems i've been looking into this for hours and days now with no positive improvements. As I said earlier today I tried some different recommended drivers and this did not solve the issue. I have also run DxtFixer again and this shows no errors in my dxt files. I also ran ACA2005 and checked that all my flight plans had aircraft etc and the only errors that It came up with was a few missing lightmap files. I have added a couple more of my add on sceneries this evening. Bangkok VTBS which is a frame hogger and fsdreamteam New York KJFK. No stutters were evident at VTBS but I had a few at KJFK, but not as many as Heathrow where I get the most regular stutters. I will keep trying various options and update you as I go. I will get this working. SImon
  10. Todays update. I installed Nvidia drivers 314.22 and 340.49 as these are supposed to be good for FS9. But I noticed no deference in the stuttering at all. So my analysis still points to the AI aircraft and the speed that the CPU can get the information from the AIRCRAFT folder in FS9. Is there a way to prioritise this folder ? Grasping at straws I hear you say ! Thanks Simon
  11. Update, I have changed the CPU setting but nothing happens apart from the FPS drop significantly unless I run FS9 on all 4 cores. I have now narrowed this down to AI aircraft. With 0% AI aircraft no stutters. Anything above 20% gives FS9 the stutters. As I said in my first post I do have a lot of AI aircraft all in separate AFCAD files in my scenery/world/scenery folder (probably 500 maybe more). Could the stutter be the sim looking at the flight plans to see whats landing at the airport ? If so how do I solve this as I know many simmers out there run realistic full commercial AI set ups. Not a single one of the other settings in FS9 helps at all at any level. Simon
  12. I have run the DXTFixerX and it did bring up a lot of errors and fixed them, but I still get the stutters in fs9. Simon
  13. Thank you very much for the replies. I run Avast and this is switched off when I run FS9. Donor - do you suggest what Nvidia driver I might use ? so many available and not seen any reports of a solid one. Many thanks Simon
  14. Hi, I am looking for some help and advice with rebuilding my FS9 after a new installation of WIndows. My computer specs are as follows; Window 7 Premium Home Edition 64 Bits Intel 760 GPU overclocked to 3.8Ghz MSI GTX 660 OC GPU Cooler Master 212 FAN 8G Ram (2 x 4G stick) Separate 1TB sata hard drive for FS9 So it should eat FS9 for breakfast. I have only installed one airport add on scenery for testing purpose and 100% of my AI traffic. I fly commercial airlines so I have a lot of AI traffic at the airports to make it realistic. The sim runs fine with everything at MAX, and I am getting between 35-40 FPS and excellent graphics using Nvidia Inspector. The problem is the "stutters" which I have read about in the past but never experienced them myself. I get a stutter every few seconds, I would guess they are micro stutters, very annoying. So far this is what I have tried; Reduce settings in FS9, but all that happens is the FPS shoot up ! Set CPU affinity to all 4 cores and priority to HIGH. Set texture bandwith in FSG.cfg to 400. Reduced Nvidia Inspector settings, all that happens is the graphics turn nasty. Defrag using Iorbit Smart Defrag , many many times. Updated all Nvidia drivers and carried out a proper clean install. Nothing I do stops the stutters. Can anybody suggest anything I have not listed as I am not going to complete all of my scenery add ons until I get FS9 running as it was before. Many thanks Simon
