  1. No, you did not missed anything,also the weather data can't be found there.

    Window is tooooo big, going back to FSInn.

    vPilot was not designed to be an FSINN replacement. It was designed by someone who has given the community many innovative programs for FREE!

    He never intended for this to be everything. He designed it to WORK and work without the need for an IT degree to connect to VATSIM, which is accomplishes marvelously.

    If you like FSINN and it works for you, great! If you are looking for something that works simply and also works with P3D then you can't go wrong with vPilot.

  2. It's manual as far as I know Rob. However, if you already have the SimConnect.xml file in your FSX appdata directory, you can simply copy it over to the Prepar3D appdata directory.

    Here's my SimConnect.xml file for reference (the Address can be the PC name or IP address):

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
    <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">
    <Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr>
    <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <!-- Example Global (remote) IPv4 Server Configuration-->
    <SimConnect.Comm>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
    <Scope>global</Scope>
    <MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
    <Address>i7</Address>
    <Port>500</Port>
    </SimConnect.Comm>
    <!-- Example Local IPv4 Server Configuration-->
    <SimConnect.Comm>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
    <Scope>local</Scope>
    <MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
    <Address>127.0.0.1</Address>
    <Port>REPLACE_WITH_PORT_NUMBER</Port>
    </SimConnect.Comm>
    </SimBase.Document>

  3. Here is my pulldown config text used in the Realair Duke Turbine which is installed into P3D2.2. You first must have the Carenado C337 loaded into P3D2.2 using EMT. Plain vanilla no-RXP version. Then make the following change to the Panel.CFG file under the  Duke Turbine Panel directory.

         ----------------------------------------

    [Window00]

    Background_color=85,80,80

    size_mm=520,378

    window_size_ratio=0.732

    position=7

    visible=1

    ident=794

    window_size= 0.362, 0.491

    window_pos= 0.024, 0.481

    zorder=15

    gauge00=GPS_530_3D_337!gps_500,  0,0,520,378 //  Original C337 Pulldown

    gauge01=CCTTS!Toggle_GPS,  85,28,353,264

        -------------------------------

    This isn't as good as the RXP, but it does look like a 530. :)

    Dave

    Thank you sir. I just figured it out as you were posting... definitely an improvement.

  4. I can't believe that the anti-mindstar folks have not told you what the problems with it are:

    1. Refresh rate = 1 second

    2. No map view

    3. Declutter options do not exist

    4. No wind vector display

    I use these all the time in RXP.

    My temporary solution for P3D is to use the Carenado C337 GNS530

    in a pulldown window.

    Dave

    :)

    Hey Dave, what files am I looking for to do the same? Or would you be willing to share your aircraft.cfg section with this window info?

  5. FYI, a clean install of drivers will recreate the Prepar3D profile, so you'll need to delete it again.  With no application specific profile set, the drivers will use the "Global" profile.

    EDIT: so you Global profile will need to be set to "Application Controlled" for AA and AF.

    I deleted the Prepar3D profile after the install. Global profile is set as you describe.

  6. It's not as nice as SGSS AA, but it's not as bad as your images.  Are you deleting your NI profile prior to setting AA in P3D?  Your images look like AA is not being applied at all.

    Exactly! The profile is completely deleted and that's what I get with 8x on a 770 GTX 4GB card. Just did a clean install of the latest "official" drivers as well, but regardless P3D as always looked like this unless I fiddle with AA in Inspector.

  7. I only see 'jaggies' on the aircraft. Everything else in that image shows antialiasing in full force. That tells me it's not about the AA settings being used. Look at the arrow line under the aircraft... it's edge is pretty smooth for an angled line.

    That picture actually is with P3D at it's best. I just took off from KIAD and the cloud shadows edge was a massive jaggie edge, along with the gate lines.

    There is no way I can fly this without an NI profile.

    OH and P.S.

    I wonder if some of the people saying they don't need or use a profile have a default profile setup that is actually assisting?

    I ask because even with supersampling and 4xS AA going on in the background my frames are the same as without using a profile. I wonder if they have some extra AA going on in that they aren't even aware of.

    Yeah... here ya go... tell me that's some awesome default 8x AA here! ;-0

  8. I'm not using NV inspector . . . and P3D2.2 looks and runs just fine.  Yes, if I zoom way in on my C-172, there are some jaggies (but who flies like that?).

    THIS is hardly a "jaggy mess" to me.

    Here you go... No Inspector profile (completely deleted it) and look at the wonderful jaggies. Yep, that with 9x MSAA and 16x AF.

  9. I'm not using NV inspector . . . and P3D2.2 looks and runs just fine.  Yes, if I zoom way in on my C-172, there are some jaggies (but who flies like that?).

    THIS is hardly a "jaggy mess" to me.

    Wish mine looked like that without NI profile. Mine's not even close to that with one. Once I'm done with this flight I'll give you a comparison shot.

  10. I can't believe some of the misleading posts and misinformation I'm reading!

    Not only is P3D v2.2 more stable and "sorted" than FSX, unlike the latter it requires ZERO tweaking.

    Coming from someone who just did the same - - post a misleading post, or at best a very optimistic view based on one person's experience. How can you speak for everyone else like that without being misleading yourself?

    FYI, I HAVE to tweak it using NVIDIA Inspector or it's a jaggy mess, using 8x MSAA.

  11. AH HA!

    Think I've found the source of my stuttering and killer cloud performance - there was an old Prepar3D profile in Nvidia Inspector.

    Completely delete the P3D profile and now no stutters and killer clouds! :D

    How can you fly without a profile? It's a jaggy ugly mess without some Supersampling in the profiler. And yes, I'm using 8x MSAA.

  12. Me too... when driving a car. :P

    So, how to follow roads when you are on final approach to St. Marteen or Skiathos? Million dollar question. :lol:

    I know you are just having fun, but it's really simple if you want a real answer. You look out the window and find the airport. It's how any pilot first learns how to fly.

    Now that was probably more serious than you wanted, so back to your fun. ;-)

  13. Come on guys, I want realistic global scenery. It is the one things that separates FSX from X-Plane and others. I am starting to look at scenery packages, and they cover very little for a lot of money. What are the best options for someone who is using FSX mainly for geography, and doesn't want to spend $10k+ for all these scenery packages?

    Ummm... OK...
