  1. setting to TAA fixed it for me! all the jibber jabber here lol, thanks EmaRacing! wish there was a way to mark your answer as the right one.
  2. if you go to KTPA 36L, what FPS do you get from inside the T7 cockpit? scenery tab set to ultra-high I get 16-18fps. med-high I get like 19-24fps, in the default 737 virtual cockpit I get ultra-high 30-45fps med-high 75-90fps PMDG 747 ultra-high 24-29fps med-high 39-45fps Level D 767 ultra-high 28-32fps med-high 38-42fps Captain Sim 767 ultra-high 22-25fps med-high 32-36fps what still makes me wonder is why it doesn't seem it's touching my GPU. Is GPU-Z not reliable? it never shows above 60%, and it many times shows my clock set to only 135mhz (max is 1071mhz) if it's downclocking that tells me it's not even hardly using the GPU.
  3. thanks for the help, I appreciate the time you've spent responding here. yes I have 8 physical cores, no hyperthreading. So I think it should be a mask of 254 according to that calculator. I will try that and the FFTF setting. I'm starting to wonder if I should have switched over to an intel chip. I need to try turning off Ultimate Traffic to see if that's the culprit as well.
  4. Hi Rob, no I didn't add an affinitymask entry. core zero was the most active for sure, up around 80-90% cpu, the other cores would sometimes drop down to 20-30%
  5. Well, following what Al said I finally got autoland (land 3) today: "You will not get an Autoland/Land3 indication unless you set the Radio or Baro minimums height accordingly. I've not had a single issue since making this a standard part of my approach practice. " I just load the T7 from the free flight menu. It's never in a cold & dark state. Some day I will have to give it a try
  6. thanks Guys. I tried Rob's suggestion to delete and rebuilt the fsx.cfg from scratch. I don't know, I still seem to not be able to get above 15fps with all my addons and scenery and the 777. I'd be happier to see my CPU and GPU pegged at 100%, and all the video memory getting used (this time it was actually lower, only like 700mb in use). Feels something is in the way bottlenecking that isn't my system.
  7. I noticed something weird. I have the PMDG777 and megascenery earth as well as ultimate traffic 2 and Rex. I run fsx in windowed mode at about 1920x1080x32 (my desktop resolution is 2560x1600). most of my gfx settings are med-high. I have all shadows turned off, as have light bloom off, dx10 off, In the cockpit view at the airport I'm getting frame rates down to 8fps, but usually 12-15. I have an AMD FX 8350 cpu and Nvidia GTX 760 video card. VAS never goes above 3GB, and Private Bytes/Working set never go above 2GB. (I have 8GB of ram, running Win7 x64). I used Bojotes tweaks and can see that cpu core 0 is mostly idle, and the other 7 cores are utilized between 50-85% (never 100%) and using GPU-Z I only see 1GB of memory being used (I have a 2GB card), and I never see the GPU go above 60% utilization (usually 40% or so) So I feel my frame rates are going down even though my system is not being used to the max. Any ideas whats going on here? here's my gfx settings in fsx.cfg another thing odd is i've noticed I have 4 display.device entries spread throughout my fsx.cfg. I have 2 monitors. Does anything stand out as being "out of whack" to you guys? 8. Thanks everyone, I will try what Al suggested as it seems I've been doing everything else correctly. I have always left minimums at the default setting, which I think was always 200' or 400' on my other planes.
  9. Thanks Guys. Yes, under init/approach I set the landing flaps/speed and I was spot on (20 degrees flaps 157KTS),
  10. Thanks Brenchen! Shouldn't all that be set automatically when you select the STAR and RWY? David - yes I captured the LOC first before engaging APP. Jim
  11. No matter where I'm landing, I can't seem to get autoland to work. I got autoland working in my other planes no problem. Is the real T7 really this picky when it comes to autoland? I was flying a perfect approach in calm weather. Also even though I was locked in approach and right on the glideslope, it kept saying "glideslope, glideslope" over and over repeatedly for about 5 minutes. Anyone else see this? Jim
