I have a Bravo quadrant and until a few weeks ago is used the adhesive pad. Since I use the same desk for other things besides flightsimming I have to be able to remove the Bravo a few times each week. That worked quite well until a few weeks ago when the adhesive pad seemed more willing to seperate itself from the mounting plate than my desk!
After that, part of the adhesive pad did not want to stick very well to the mounting plate and I could not mount the Bravo to my desk properly. Everytime I pulled on of the levers down the back of the Bravo would move.

I was looking for a replacement pad but they are sold out at the moment. Besides, Honeycomb does not deliver outside the USA, so e.g. in Europe there are no spare parts available.
Luckily I can use the clamps for my desk so it is not a showstopper for me but without spare parts, the only way to get the pad functioning again is glueing it to the mounting plate. That might make it impossible to replace it if I ever need to and probably will void the warranty.

Did you try cleaning the pad with water or alcohol wipes and let it dry?

It should become almost like new afterwards. At least that's the case if they are still using the 3M pads.

  2. I can only speak for the Bravo throttle.

From the buttom of the desk to the bottom of the clamp turn knob its ~3 1/4 inches.

But I think the Alpha yoke uses the same mounting solution, so it should be the same for it.

So yes, the only option for you is using the adhesive pads on the buttom of the mounting plate. I don't have any experience with it but I think it should not harm your desk if you want to remove it afterwards, at least I haven't heard something bad about it yet,

You can try setting it by hand... personally, I can only make the RXP GPS500 appear cleanly in the cockpit..

BTW the RealAir P3D config app does not run without error messages on my system..

But try this as a test:

    1. Make a copy of your panel folder as a backup.

    2. Open the Config folder in the panel folder and open the Options.xml file with Notepad

    3. Make the following change:

    <Value>(G:Var1) 0 == if{ 30 (>L:dukeRadioConfig,number) }</Value>

    4. Open the panel.cfg file with Notepad

    5. Make the following change:

    gauge19=rxpGNS!GNS530, 1, 660, 504, 364
    gauge20=rxpGNS!GNS430, 1, 448, 504, 211

    6. Save it all and try it.

In my Duke, the two gauges show up, but they have various graphical problems..

Maybe someone else can jump in and help further..

Thanks for the help, but i think i will stick to my single gns530 since it has graphical problems.

Please make sure to review how FltSim references gauge files.

Our installer uses the 'addon' method via XML file to let P3D4 and P3D3 find the gauge files. They are stored in "Program Files (x86)" for this purpose.

However, any old simulator requires the gauge file to be in the Gauge folder. Therefore, go into your simulator gauge folder, locate rxpGNS2.dll (or .gau), right click drap and drop and choose copy, select the copy, right click rename (or F2), change the name to rxpGNS.dll (or .gau).

There is no rxpGNS2.dll in or gau in my D:\Spiele\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\gauges folder.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim\64 < copied and renamed the rxpGNS2.dll to rxpGNS.dll and also copied the rxpGNS.dll to D:\Spiele\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\gauges folder.

But the Duke Config Panel still can't find the gauges

  5. I own RealAir Duke V 2.0 and the RXP 430 and 530...

What happens if you use the Duke configuration tool and select your Garmins?

    Will it work?

    Charles.

I'm pretty sure rxp won't work with p3d so even if you use the setup it wont work because rxp doesn't support p3d

thats why many here are waiting for the mindstar gps panels which will work on p3d.

  6. To be fair, Peter acknowledged he was partly to blame for the lack of replies, having sent his requests from the wrong email. I'll bet the emails were caught by the spam filter. I know of at least three developers that have contacted froogle since yesterday and made arrangements for review samples. So, we should see reviews of X-Plane products on froogle's youtube channel in the near future.

good to see ... I hope we will see the reviews in the near future.

I haven't tried x-plane at all, but i'm really interested in it and its addons.

maybe in the future I'm also a x-plane user. But until then I hope to see many reviews on youtube so its gets more exposure.

  7. Dan Klaue's comment at the org was spot on. If your advertizing budget can't support distribution of (free) review samples, you're in the wrong business (IMO).

I think froogle wouldn't mind if they said that they won't support review samples for whatever reason.

He complained that they didn't even bother to answer his emails ... a simple 'no' would be enough, but not even answering an email is sad.

  8. That's because the posts have been hidden!

thanks for the clarification ... If the shop was mentioned than I can fully support the decision.

but I doubt we are allowed to to discuss sales in the bargain basement.

is there another forum section where we can discuss the worth of sales or should we just ask about the product without mentioning sales which would be logical.

    edit:

or do we use the question tab on the bargain basement forum for that ?

  9. Anymore posting of information about an item on sale in this topic will lead to a warning and possible suspension. I would advise everyone to read the pinned topic at the top of this forum before posting anymore reports of sales here.

in all of the post here in this topic nobody even mentioned the store which have this on sale and op is just asking if the plane is worth its price.

I think this is a legit question and the thread shouldn't be closed just because someone asks about a product which happen to be coincidentally on sale without any mention on where its on sale.

    edit:

if the store was mentioned and edited out by an mod then I might understand it ...

  10. Airlines doesn't have to teach you basic?

I saw a documentary many many years ago of some people who applied to an airline and how they did become airline pilots.

I don't remember it for most of the part, but they will of course teach you the basics.

Theory first for a few weeks, then simulator and after that flying with an instructor on a single prop engine plane.

The most impressive I can still remember was the 'blind' instrument flight.

They have to put on a 'cap' where they only allowed them to look down to the instruments, but not outside. And they have to fly with instruments only and land with it too or at least the approach.

    The rest I cant remember.

Ok. I think i will start from zero first.really thanks . do you have any advice?

http://www.flyaoamedia.com/ try the aviator90 series, its free and its a not bad. I think videos are more entertainment than pure text.

  11. well I started with the pmdg 737 ngx with no knowledge of aviation.

it wasn't easy but it worked more or less ...

if you program the 737 correctly it's pretty much automated and you don't have to do much to get from a to b with autoland.

but if someone comes and say fly a vor/ndb approach you might have a problem.

I don't see any problems to dig a bit in airliners first. But sooner than later you will go back to a simple aircraft like the a2a c172 and try to learn the basics.

If you want to have fun no problems. If you want to be serious better start small with singleengine prop and vfr and don't neglect atc and ifr in the future.

  12. By all means, take your chance. I was speaking only on my behalf. I belong to that handful. Visit the Sibwings forum, you'll get the hang of it. Much wiser guys than me have found out the flaws in that dll. I wonder what' s wrong with me, but I' ve had lots of fun starting up that lady, that manual fuel pump and those hesitant first coughs of that radial...

well just bought it ... not that it costs as much as a pmdg aircraft :P

just did one short flight and I can understand why some might consider it for the addon of the year award.

but it did handle much harder than I thought ...

keeping it on a straigt line was really hard for me but at least I did a cold and dark to landing without much troubles.

will definitely keep an eye on it and maybe I will also recommend it for an award.

  13. This could be simple if the product would work without flaws. It would be without hesitation a Sibwings An-2. A wonderful immersion and feel - but, its core component .dll is a bit unfinished and crashes the sim

bummer, wanted to buy it next.

I thought the crashes only occurs when exiting the flight and only for a handful of people ? well I guess I was mistaken.

Also is it true that the only 2 sources of ifr instruments are not working correctly/bugged ?

Like adf is bugged, but I read from the dev it's already fixed for the next update, but who knows when it comes ...

Also the 3 instruments which show your heading don't show the correct heading but deviate from 10 to 20 degrees depending on you flightlevel ? The higher the less accurate ?

With those bugs ifr would be just impossible or is this only one case ?

would be strange that people fly in the wrong heading by 20 degrees of the compass and only one noticed it 4-5 months after release.

And since the devs haven't said a word about it I guess it won't be fixed in the near future ?

Of course you can press shift+z or popup a 2d gps panel to verify the heading you are flying, but that would be not good enough for me.

Also can you fly it on vatsim without a transponder ?

    But my list would contain:

    PMDG 777

    Majestic Q400

    A2A C172

    Realair Duke v2

    FTX Global

  14.

The fact that I have to explain any of that above does not speak well of the flight sim community.

while I agree with most of what you said, please don't insult the whole flight sim community just because of a few people ...

those bad people are everywhere and you don't go out and insult everyone just because of a few.

  15. I wish there was an option like $15 more and that it would release with a more or less non dated nav data.

I only need 1 nav cycle and it would be cheaper than buying a subscription.

I think if you talk with realnav and offer them money to include 1 cycle they maybe wont say no.

because for the ~$50 only you get navdata from 2005 ? which would be 6 years older than the reality xp one.

and to have a newer one than 2005 you have to pay ~$90 which would be still cheaper than the reality xp full bundle, but an ~$65 for the gns + 1 cycle navdata would be much better for me.

It sure is, when I proposed a theory that a release of the GNS without any form of current AIRAC cycle amounts to the GNS merely being a vehicle to sell RealNav subscriptions, I was immeadiately asked by Ed Wilson of Mindstar to name a single addon that uses updateable navdata that provides a current cycle:

    http://forum.avsim.net/topic/423351-mindstar-gns-430530-release-this-friday/page-3#entry2825155

It was easy, as the PMDG 777 does just that.

    Matthias

well the pmdg 737 also included the latest navdata when it was released.
