  1. I'm pretty sure rxp won't work with p3d so even if you use the setup it wont work because rxp doesn't support p3d thats why many here are waiting for the mindstar gps panels which will work on p3d.
  2. sorry I couldn't help you, but this might be a p3d problem ? maybe someone else can help you or you can try to mail the devs. they usually answer your mail within 24h
  3. did you have your fsx/p3d installed under c:/program files ? if yes did you start the config as an admin ? right click on the exe and click run as admin maybe you also have the file write protected.
  4. do every airport addon work or do you have to use the aerosoft addons ? but I think if I would have to choose it would be gsx
  5. good to see ... I hope we will see the reviews in the near future. I haven't tried x-plane at all, but i'm really interested in it and its addons. maybe in the future I'm also a x-plane user. But until then I hope to see many reviews on youtube so its gets more exposure.
  6. I think froogle wouldn't mind if they said that they won't support review samples for whatever reason. He complained that they didn't even bother to answer his emails ... a simple 'no' would be enough, but not even answering an email is sad.
  7. thanks for the clarification ... If the shop was mentioned than I can fully support the decision. but I doubt we are allowed to to discuss sales in the bargain basement. is there another forum section where we can discuss the worth of sales or should we just ask about the product without mentioning sales which would be logical. edit: or do we use the question tab on the bargain basement forum for that ?
  8. in all of the post here in this topic nobody even mentioned the store which have this on sale and op is just asking if the plane is worth its price. I think this is a legit question and the thread shouldn't be closed just because someone asks about a product which happen to be coincidentally on sale without any mention on where its on sale. edit: if the store was mentioned and edited out by an mod then I might understand it ...
  9. did you ever use a simulator for your training (official ones) and if yes how close does fsx with the majestic compare to it. also how fun is it to fly a q400 compared to the other aircrafts you have flown and how hard is it to fly compared to the others you have flown.
  10. I saw a documentary many many years ago of some people who applied to an airline and how they did become airline pilots. I don't remember it for most of the part, but they will of course teach you the basics. Theory first for a few weeks, then simulator and after that flying with an instructor on a single prop engine plane. The most impressive I can still remember was the 'blind' instrument flight. They have to put on a 'cap' where they only allowed them to look down to the instruments, but not outside. And they have to fly with instruments only and land with it too or at least the approach. The rest I cant remember. http://www.flyaoamedia.com/ try the aviator90 series, its free and its a not bad. I think videos are more entertainment than pure text.

q2 2014 ... could take up to 8months if they can keep the date. hmm .. ah2 or simair from rex I guess which comes out first.
  12. well I started with the pmdg 737 ngx with no knowledge of aviation. it wasn't easy but it worked more or less ... if you program the 737 correctly it's pretty much automated and you don't have to do much to get from a to b with autoland. but if someone comes and say fly a vor/ndb approach you might have a problem. I don't see any problems to dig a bit in airliners first. But sooner than later you will go back to a simple aircraft like the a2a c172 and try to learn the basics. If you want to have fun no problems. If you want to be serious better start small with singleengine prop and vfr and don't neglect atc and ifr in the future.
  13. well just bought it ... not that it costs as much as a pmdg aircraft just did one short flight and I can understand why some might consider it for the addon of the year award. but it did handle much harder than I thought ... keeping it on a straigt line was really hard for me but at least I did a cold and dark to landing without much troubles. will definitely keep an eye on it and maybe I will also recommend it for an award.
  14. bummer, wanted to buy it next. I thought the crashes only occurs when exiting the flight and only for a handful of people ? well I guess I was mistaken. Also is it true that the only 2 sources of ifr instruments are not working correctly/bugged ? Like adf is bugged, but I read from the dev it's already fixed for the next update, but who knows when it comes ... Also the 3 instruments which show your heading don't show the correct heading but deviate from 10 to 20 degrees depending on you flightlevel ? The higher the less accurate ? With those bugs ifr would be just impossible or is this only one case ? would be strange that people fly in the wrong heading by 20 degrees of the compass and only one noticed it 4-5 months after release. And since the devs haven't said a word about it I guess it won't be fixed in the near future ? Of course you can press shift+z or popup a 2d gps panel to verify the heading you are flying, but that would be not good enough for me. Also can you fly it on vatsim without a transponder ? But my list would contain: PMDG 777 Majestic Q400 A2A C172 Realair Duke v2 FTX Global
  15. thanks for the update
  16. while I agree with most of what you said, please don't insult the whole flight sim community just because of a few people ... those bad people are everywhere and you don't go out and insult everyone just because of a few.
  17. I wish there was an option like $15 more and that it would release with a more or less non dated nav data. I only need 1 nav cycle and it would be cheaper than buying a subscription. I think if you talk with realnav and offer them money to include 1 cycle they maybe wont say no. because for the ~$50 only you get navdata from 2005 ? which would be 6 years older than the reality xp one. and to have a newer one than 2005 you have to pay ~$90 which would be still cheaper than the reality xp full bundle, but an ~$65 for the gns + 1 cycle navdata would be much better for me. well the pmdg 737 also included the latest navdata when it was released.
  18. so if i understand correctly its the navdata from microsoft anno 2005/2006 ? aka the same navdata the ms fsx default gps is using ?
  19. did I read correctly that you have to need a subscription to get the addon working because no navdata is included in the gns addon ? or is the included navdata just out of date ?
  20. Rex has a build in weather engine. Some people say its not as good as opus or active sky, but they have gone a long way and it's way better than it used to be. I doubt you will see ultra much improvement if you choose not to go with another weather engine. So stick with rex and use it for textures and engine. edit: the only reason why I would go opusfsx for now is the build in camera tool if I would switch over to p3d, since ezdok is fsx only and wont work with p3d :(
  21. I also use a 32" full hd tv and a 22" full hd monitor. it doesn't matter if you use hdmi or dvi. I used to use dvi cause my old gpu had 2 dvi. my new one only has 1 dvi and 1hdmi + 2xdp so i use now hdmi for the tv and dvi for my 2nd monitor, because the hdmi port of my 2nd monitor is already used by my mac. if you have too much money you could also look at some 2560x1600 resolution 30" monitors. But only if your pc can handle that resolution without heavy frame drop. would look a little bit better than just full hd
  22. what kind of a computer do you have ? good would be an intel i5 or i7 with at least 4.0 > 5.0ghz overclocked with a decent nvidia gpu like the 580/680gtx with at least 6gb system memory. no amd can reach that performance even close. as for fsx.cfg tweaker try what the manual of the pmdg says or try http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html also don't try to have the graphic settings all to the right. won't really work unless you oc to at least 4.5ghz intel. I also have like 200-300fps my addons and stock airplane, but 30fps barely with the ngx ...
  23. if you are cheap the 'special bundle pack' one. the 'captains pack' is the special bundle pack + an audio 737 training. the emergency bundle is only an addon and needs the special or captains bundle to work. It handles emergency situations which the other packages wont. it also brings new voices to it. but only one voice is available when you want to have emergencies simulated (I think its the australian accent)
  24. if it already calculates the tod and the projected decent rate that would make me really happy. the math to calculate it is not hard, but I don't want to do math while having fun I hope it isn't a cyle from the last century I would be fine if its one from late 2012 or even better one from 2013.
  25. I'm really interested in this addon. One betatester here said that it has the vnav button and you can input data in it, but it wont do anything. Will you maybe consider it in the future that it at least calculate the 'tod' and displays it and also shows the required sinkrate to reach that goal ? (no interaction with the aircraft needed just the display) I don't know how much work that would be but it would be a big plus for me.
