  1. tabs (ryan) said something about 6+ months
  2. I have an old dirt cheap asrock P55DE3 (I think 55€ or so) ... and will fit everything you asked forthere are way better out there, but even this cheap piece of hardware can do OC without problems and with predefined profiles for OC ...just go for something like asus, gigabyte, msi or so and you cant go wrong most of the times ... 1156 boards getting rare these days so you cant be that picky mine is also stock@2.8ghz and I can go for 4.2 usually , but the noise of the fans would drive me crazy and with 35°C ambient temp going for 3.8 was more wise but much room to improve if wanted ... just get a very good cpu cooler edit:also start small and then go higher if its stable ... dont overtry it ... 3.4>3.6>3.8>4.0
  3. It should not ... technically ... even if your fan dies and temp goes up near 100°C the cpu should clock down to prevent damage and usually does, but I wouldn't bet my whole money on itmurphy's law and so :) edit:I know its old but applies to newer intel ones too ...
  4. if your fan is regulated by cpu temperature (like most of the cpu cooling fans) then yes its normal ...
  5. you can attach files in the 'more reply options' (max size 1.95MB) or use http://library.avsim.net/ if you have an account there or filehoster like http://www.megaupload.com/
  6. The dl link is down for quite awhile now ... mind to upload it so that users who dont were so lucky to dl it before they took down the file ?
  7. I use 'CPUID Hardware Monitor' for temps ... there are way more progs, but I find this pretty good and its free ...And usually if you don't deactivate it in the BIOS intel cpus wont die from overheating since Pentium 4 ... they have a build in thermal protection to prevent death (it will just clock down to prevent damage)At least I havn't killed one since P4 ...
  8. Some like the summary, some don't ...I don't mind if there aren't any, but it's not a bad thing which should be removed because its bad ... I don't think it will take much time in the production to do a summary The only neg thing you could say about it if you don't like it its the wasted space on you HDD but other than that I don't see any ...and if you really hate it just stop the video when the summary shows and just watch the first 10min and skip the last 7 ... Nick's voice after the editing is good to understand ... but Chris is a natural born narrator and I would love to hear him, but Nick is also doing a great job so I dont really mind
  9. 60°C is ok ... but with 50°C its 30°C safety buffer and 50°C buffer to death :) edit:ah you are talking about fsx temps ... yes the temps with fsx is lower than with prime95 ...I'm talking about max stress test temp @ 75°C with prime95 (usually you wont reach this temp even with heavy gaming) ... ~60°C for fsx sounds right for me that way :)but I thought I read something about 50°C and max load which is way in the green zone ... with stock cooler you will get higher temps without OC on idle
  10. my goal is to keep the temp below 75°C with 30°C ambient tempbut I would never go above 80°C for CPU temp ... if you keep it below your cpu will live a long life ...keeping the temp at or below 50°C with 100% load is just a waste of performance
  11. 43 episodes for groundwork and 9 episodes for flightwork = 52 episodes and if 1 episode each week -> 1year to complete the series :)the other training from AoA also took around 1year until they finished them ...
  12. is this a free update, a paid update or a new product ?
  13. the 3 months free will start when the first episode of linework is released ... not earlier ...they are looking into it if the 3 months can start when you want, but no promises
  14. I think AoA said that their experience and those of the pilots from the CBT are that this is boring as hell and the monotonous voiceover wanna make you fall asleep ...They want to create the same as the CBT, but much more exciting, with colored pictures and animantion and a voiceover you don't fall asleep while listening :)
  15. they said flightwork will start after groundwork is finished not earlier ... so the first flightwork episode will be released after the last groundwork episodelinework is what you maybe mean ... it will start in between these twothey also said they aim for 1 episode a week, but cant promise it, but nowhere near 2 or 3 a week oO
  16. its just my guess, but about 6months each ... and flightwork only starts after groundworks ended ...so to watch the last flightwork episode maybe in a year ... (I think the other trainings came out after one year of the addon release and were complete, so I guess its the same for this one) ...maybe we get a episode every 1-2 weeks from now on and around 33 episodes for groundwork I think ctd while dl and watching the video ? never happens to me with any video and I'm not talking about AoA videos but videos in general ?
  17. 1. best fsx addon aircraft made up to now2. maybe (might be a couple fps worse, might be better than the 747, depends) ... some, but gamebraking bugs are mostly fixed besides panel freeze or activation issues for very few people3. the first 3 hotfixes came out very fast and fixed the gamebreaking bugs for most of the people if you had some, most didn't have problems at all, more to come to fix activation issues and panel freezes and then sp14. as Di said ... the most realistic airliner addon available for fsx5. no, maybe in 6+ months
  18. delete the cfg and patch again ... (keep the config in the recycle bin to be sure the new cfg is written)
  19. My highend would look like this ...UTX, GEX (I wish I could use ORBX instead), REX, insert your airport addon here , Ezok+TrackIR, EFB, RC4 or Vatsim/Ivao, FS2Crew, ENB series, Topcat and PfpxMaybe fscaptain if you are bored ...
  20. 17:39 yes, at least his voice in the first video
  21. my passengers on the ngx never complained about it
  22. do the ooms with high vram also happens on a 64bit os ? or only on 32bit os ?
  23. that would be funny if this was a requirement in the real world ... :)I think I also read this in the manual somewhere or forums, but I can retract the airstairs even with closed doors, but cant with door open ...
  24. just accelerate the plane to about 140knots and then brake manually to zero (using the '.' key or press your pedals down completly)if it still says 0 then its fishy, but usually it jumps to 5.x-7.x after that ... and the brake breaks :)
