  1. Thanks. I don't plan on getting the FSUIPC yet (not the registered version anyway). It seems to work sometimes, and when I reset it when it's acting up it fixes it. So I guess it will be fine for now then. Thanks, Matt
  2. Hi All, Just encountered a [really] strange issue with my autopilot on a few planes, and wondered if anyone else has it (or knows a fix for it, of course... ) So, it seems that on some planes (not all) and at some times (not always) when I try inputing my speed, heading, or altitude into the different screens, they only increase in increments of 10. It mostly happens on planes where you physically click on the screens, and not the knobs (eg. the default 747 and a freeware Cessna Citation, and pretty much any plane that has this feature). I know it's not THAT big a deal, but it's a bit annoying when the controller on VATSIM tells you to turn to a heading not by 10's. I then have to round to that number and hope the controller doesn't ask for a course correction. So, does anyone know what on earth I mean? And if so, how do you handle it? Thanks, Matt
  3. Thanks irocx, yeah, I was leaning toward doing a repair and saving a LOT of time, but figured that if I really did mess up my default scenery it would be better to reinstall it once, rather than having to do it twice if the repair didn't work.
  4. Thanks guys for the info, very well explained! I'm using a laptop, so my disc drive is slow (and sounds like a freight train, lol), but I'll give it a go and see if it works. And fyi, I could click on the links you posted, it was "active" and opened a new window. Regards, Matt

Hello All, I've had FSX for a while, and I think I know nearly everything there is to know about the basic flying and simple software modifications. However, I've read about a so-called SDK that seems to be able to enable editing of airports and traffic (now don't laugh, because I have absolutely NO idea what this thing is!) Can someone explain to me what on earth the SDK really is? As in, where it's located, what it does, and so forth. Thanks! Matt P.S. I have FSX Gold edition, with both Deluxe and Acceleration installed.
  6. No problem, glad it worked out.
  7. ALLELUIA... After nearly three hours of uninstalling, reinstalling, and redoing all my key mappings, I checked TNCM and found it back to its old, default self. Finally! Now to re-add my repaints to the cfg's, oh boy. And I agree, PFL, I believe I somehow managed to mess up my defaults when I deleted it! Well, lesson learned, and I'm sticking with the default airports for a while. Thanks again, Matt
  8. Again, unfortunately that didn't work either. The folder is completely deleted from my directories, and the problem is still there. I'm going to try a complete uninstall of FSX and try reinstalling, PRAYING for it to work of course! Of all the airports, why did it have to be TNCM? I mean, seriously! Also, when I first tried deleting it in the FSX Settings/Scenery Library, I experienced the dreaded CTD syndrome. That may have caused it to not completely restore the deafults. It's anyone's guess. So, I'll try the uninstall/reinstall process, and let you guys know if it works. Thanks for the help! Regards, Matt
  9. I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is here, but you said you are running SP2. FSX Acceleration has SP2 already in it. There may be a problem with its own SP2 conflicting with the SP2 you have now. I would suggest uninstalling the SP2 you are using now, so there is only one version that Acceleration can use. See if that helps. Good Luck! Matt
  10. Try looking in your General Settings menu. Make sure both of these are checked: 1) Show message log in ATC menuand2) Use a pilot voice (as well as the drop down menu Hope that helps. Matt
  11. Unfortunately, that didn't work. I guess I missed the "enabled column" when I was getting rid of the scenery in the first place, and simply clicked "delete scenery." Do you know if redownloading the same scenery and then disabling it will work? Thanks, Matt
  12. The XBox 360 controller is equivalent to a USB yoke or joystick, and that is the ONLY thing FSX and the 360 have in common (besides them both being made by Microsoft). Unless you want laser burns all over you FSX disc, I wouldn't suggest placing it inside the 360.
  13. Hello all, I'm new to the site, and this is my first post. The main reason I decided to become a member is because I discovered a pretty frustrating problem with the simulator, and no other posts seemed to answer it exactly. So I got a freeware scenery update for TNCM airport (I believe from the AVSIM library files) and installed it, and I was VERY pleased with the results. However, I realized that since it included a complete new layout of the terminal and taxiways, it was impossible to fly multiplayer there without the dreaded "ejection." So I decided to delete the scenery. I went to the (Settings/Scenery Library), clicked on the "tncm," and deleted it. I go back in, and my heart sinks. Only a few parts of the scenery went away (the terminal disapeared, the layout was restored, and a few trees left). But the old terminal is still missing, along with the old vehicles and terrain! My question is: does anyone know how to completely restore a particular scenery without the whole reintallation process (if there is one)? Thanks!
