  1. Probably a stupid question but is there any kind of documentation somewhere that tells me how to use the Tacpack function with the F-35?
  2. What determines the function of each key or button in FSX? Is that all done in Standard.xml? Can it be edited manualy?
  3. I am wanting to invest in a TrackIR and I have a couple questions. - Is there really a significant difference between the TrackIR 4 and the trackIR 5? - Is it totaly necessary to use the hat clip thing? I have heard that some kind of reflective device would work also.
  4. I will try that and see what happens. The problem is, don't I need to use the profiler to make use of the mode switch so I can have three different configurations of the controller and be able to change it in game? If this makes the controller work in FSX, would there be some way to set up the mode switch without using the Logitech software? You would think Logitech would try to make the profiler a little more compatible with an extremely common sim like FSX. It looks like they tried to, but as far as I can tell, they failed miserably.
  5. So I finaly bit the bullet and got a G940. I really think I'm gonna like it but I haven't had alot of success getting the thing set up. So... Here's what I'm seeing. All the basic pitch/roll/rudder/throttle/mixture/propeller controls work fine in FSX (although I have yet to get FSX to see the trim knobs/wheels). The buttons are the issue. If I go into game controllers settings in Win 7, or in the profiler, all the axis and buttons are there and work as advertised. Once I get into FSX, most of the buttons don't work at all. So I try to set up the controls while in the game and what I have found is that all the buttons that don't work, show up in the game as keyboard entries, i.e. I try to assign button 4 on the joystick to a function and instead of showing as button 4, it shows as a keyboard L or S or /. I was running the G940 through a USB hub along with several other devices including a keyboard. So I plugged it directly into a USB port but that didn't change anything. Most of the joystick/throttle buttons showed up as a keyboard entry and didn't work in flight (I believe the keyboard entries that the buttons showed as, did function in flight, i.e. if the the button showed as a keyboard L or S, then that L or S on the keyboard functioned correctly). So, I've updated everything and tried everything I can think of. What could be making my controller buttons show up as keyboard entries in FSX? About the trim knobs/wheels, is there a trick for getting those to work in FSX?Every function of the thing works correctly in game controller setup in Win 7 (64). They work for the most part in the profiler. But once in FSX, the basic joystick/throttle/pedals function correctly but not the buttons. This seems kind of opposite to what I have been seeing in various forums. Usualy the axis' are the issue and not the buttons.I really want to get this thing working. Even just the little bit I've got to use it with the split throttle and FFB and pedals makes a world of difference in the sim experience.
