Just gonna butt in due to the fact that I'm having the same issue.

Hope I didn't confuse you fellas with my wording. Its a FPS gain I'm getting, not a drop. Also note I am using Windows 7. Just wish I could find a way for this to stay even without a window being open.

Today as I was flying around Hawaii in Carenado's C206, I switched windows to Windows Task Manager. It was on top of FSX's screen as I was still able to monitor my flight progress. However, my FPS took a massive increase with the Task Manager in front of FSX. Hope everyone can understand me so far. Further testing shows an FPS increase with other windows opened just like Task Manager was, as well as drop down menus. Kinda weird but hopefully this is a topic that has been covered so someone can give me tips to have this continue without the windows up. I'll be glad to try and explain further if I didn't do such a hot job earlier. Thanks

Okay right now I am at LAX, default scenery, and have used both the default Baron and addon Metroliner from Razbam. Both yielded low FPS with the same settings I described in my first post. Also, can you explain what Aero is, MikeT707? Not familiar with that.

The F-22 doesn't show any lag at all. I'll install a native Carenado plane later tonight and I'll let you know if the problem still persist.

From what I have read it is. The installer isn't for P3D though.

Hello all Simmers, Thought I would turn to the forums for help with my aggravating issue. I just recently upgraded to a new system. Here are my specs. -AMD FX-8350 4.0Mhz -GTX 760 4Gb -8Gb ram Tried FSX with it at first, and never worked out. At large airports like LAX with default everything, I still got 15-fps. So today I decided to get Prepar3d. Everything looks amazing, however, with QWSim 757 at KJFK default scenery, I have 6-fps. Really bums me out. I though that the upgrade to the new system and new sim would end my FPS problems. Here are also my Settings. Scenery= Terrain Settings- all less than half Scenery object- Sparse water detail- medium reflections- none special effects- medium Lighting- everything at none or 0m Weather- clear skies Traffic- saw it never really made a difference, so i know its not this. Any suggestions or Comments would be GREATLY appreciated. Hopefully soon I'll be able to enjoy this world just as everyone else is.

What do yall think? My ultimate goal in this pc is to be able to fly top notch addon aircraft into airports like LAX, JFK, HKG, CDG, DUB without going below 20fps. Can I do that with this setup in Prepar3d ya think?

Hi everyone. I started a topic elsewhere in this forum but it seems to have gotten lost in the hustle and bustle. Anyways, I Just checked on my savings for a new sim rig for P3D v2 and i have around 1200 dollars to spend. My main question is, do i go AMD or Intel? Now that v2 is out, it appears that it uses more of the GPU than the CPU. If that's the case, does it really matter with what processors i go with or does it still. If so, Id really really appreciate some feedback before I throw a chunk of money out at newegg. Thanks

I also want to clarify that I intend on running Prepar3d on this machine, which from what I've heard it takes a bunch of the load off the CPU. Is this true?

Hi all. I'm sure this forum is riddled with this same question but I wanna go ahead and ask for everyone's opinion before I throw a chunk of money out there. Here's the setup I'm thinking about. Motherboard- P8Z77-v CPU- i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4Ghz GPU- GTX 650 TI-Boost 2GB RAM- 8GB DDR3 Any recommendations to this are welcome, as long as I don't go over $1,200, setup i have now is $900. Thoughts?

What i mean by quality is visual model. Take Dinos F-14 for example, almost perfect modeled aircraft. Since VRS is in the topic, why dont they make the F model expansion for it?

Hi there everyone. I know there is the VRS Superbug and the KBT hornet, but is there any model outhere with the quality of a Dino Cattaneo aircraft or an Aerosoft or IRIS model? Maybe a WIP? I would love to get my hands on a jet with the Centennial of Naval Aviations Digi-Camo hornet. Any reply would be great.

Hi there folks, i am really wanting the PMDG 747 lately since i dont have any good 747 addon. Since im in the market for said jet, can anyone tell me a good place to purchase this jet? Some places i see it costing $80 bucks and some places $30 buck. Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
