Hi guys The great team over at FS++ suggested I share this with you all. Firstly my set up is Win XP Pro (32bit) and office 2003. I had a re-occurring issue where if I used the MCE "reset factory default" (in tools) it trashed all speech recognition resulting in a complete uninstall and re-install of Office and a repair or re-install of MCE. I was having to hit the reset cos I have two audio cards (one for ambient noises and one for headphones) and when I tried to change the sound card in initial setting up it trashed back to desktop. I discovered DO NOT TOUCH THE SETTINGS accept the default. It all seems to work just fine with the audio selections made under control panel. Also after many time going round and round I discovered that if you remove office (2003 in my case I don't know about other vers) and MCE completely then install MCE FIRST then office they play together real nicely. I'd like to publicly thank the FS++ team for their patience John

Hiya (me again)my latest need to know is but a little background first.I have at least got my displays just displays (not buttons etcawaiting new ATMEGA chip ......sigh) kind of working although I do not think I have done it as it should be .All controls are being adjusted in FSX with the mouse for the experiment!I looked at other ",dab" files to try to see what to do.I also found in the samples folder"b737ng_glareshield.ini" & "b737ng.ini"but no dab file or fsp.I looked in the ini file and made sure my CID's etc tallied with those in the fileI used another sample .dab file & .fsp simply overwrote the contentsThus :-(FSP file)D:\Program Files\FSBUSCDK\samples\b737ng_glareshield.dabD:\Program Files\FSBUSCDK\samples\b737ng_glareshield.ini(DAB FILE)'ADF DA 03/2007SUB OnBeginLoadConfigFile("b737ng_glareshield.ini")END SUBthis gave an error "LoadConfigFile("b737ng_glareshield.ini unknown format"So (and I don't know why) I altered the dab file thusSUB OnBeginLoadConfigFile("b737ng.ini")LoadConfigFile("b737ng_glareshield.ini")END SUBand the fsb fileD:\Program Files\FSBUSCDK\samples\b737ng_glareshieldtest.dabD:\Program Files\FSBUSCDK\samples\b737ng_glareshield.iniD:\Program Files\FSBUSCDK\samples\b737ng.inihey presto it kind of worksThe activity lights, and therefore, the digit change lags about 2-3 seconds behind the screenalso the speed randomly alternates between IAS & Mach when changing the speed rotaryAnd the heading display shows 1 less than the screen ????? ie hdg on screen shows 127 my display 128...a;ways 1 behind at 000 it shows 360 on my display. Also the speed does not seem to suffer the lag while all the other displays do??any ideas anyone?

Story so farOk I have built my 737 MCP panel along with the required FSBus boards.I have flashed the Tttiny's on the display board and the Atmega on the i/o64 board.I have used fsadmin to set the CIDs and all the buttons/rotaries.Have tested all leds and displays. All seem to function as I would expect.HOW OH HOW do I get this to actually work with FSX?Earlier I ran CDK but there was nothing I could do to get a button or switch etc to work or led's or displays to be effected from within CDK...I ran the samples and I got nothing from the experience.I did find a setup tab which looked very similar to fsadmin but in this area my panel did not react as it had done in fsadmin..*curious*....After about four hours I thought I had tried every permutation of programs opening order, All the sample projects and that made no sense to me (other than displaying my frame rate but I guess that told me it was at least doing something)I could not get the virtual controls to alter anything within the cockpit of the 737 I had idling on a runway. That might have been the fact that when I went to the CDK screen FSX paused *sigh*Any way I desperately need help with the very basic how to get it all started..One baby step at a time.I'll settle for just seeing a display change or status led to work for now and take it from there. The ONLY thing I managed to do was fry one of my display ATTINY's and the ATMEGA (new ones on order !!!!)I cannot believe I am struggling with this.... ARGHHHHHHHHHSorry I have rambled on and on !John

Hi GuysOK here's an update. I bit the bullet and am going the micropro route the "hardware way was getting so out of hand ....do-able but, oh my, to get it to work like a real one was becoming huge (physically) so I made some fsbus boards..Also have made my mcp panel ..all I gotta do is get them to play together. As far as fsadmin is concerned the boards (after a few hours of fault finding) seem to work.I have no idea how I am going to actually get it to play with fs yet...still one baby step at a time.Which area of this forum will I need to post my questions ?.... (for example how to make rotary switches work in fsbus ....not rotary encoders but absolute position switches ie. 737 bank angle selector)

Thanks Iron maiden for your reply. Are you saying I should be able to assign all my buttons on all my controllers even though as far as windows is concerned they are essensially the same "button number" ? Will/can fsuipc differentiate between which "button 8" is pressed? Sorry for acting dumb but my brain just will not absorb this....

hi guys Great to be here looks Like a great place! While I am good at mechanical engineering and fair at electronics the software part just won't sink in with me & this leaves me totally clueless. I have developed a little board that converts toggle switches to simulate a button press (ie like when toggling landing lights on and off)..I have fed the output of my circuit to a dimembered joystick. Now if I plug the thing into my pc I can see the switches working exactly as intended in the control panel (as a generic gamepad).Problem is the "buttons" (1-12) are already assigned to my ch yoke..and fsx sees my controller as another set of buttons 1-12I have read that FSUIP allows multiple controllers but will it allow me to use both together ie assign the joypad to (say) butons 13-25 ? I have read and read but the more I read the less I find out...the fsuipc geeks seem to speak in a strange language .. I know fsbus (more software arghhh!! ...I just have a blindness to it ..) .is out there but have you seen just how much it costs to make (say) a MCP panel.???....my fair assimilation will cost less me than a tenth !!! Will fsuip allow me to add 1 or more "identcal joypads" to expand the number of switches available?sorry if this a lame question but I really am struggling here. ( I think I need the "teach your monkey FSUIPC" book) Thanks in advance John
