Thanks for your response. Much appreciated. I am using Aerosoft VDGS. I am using the exact simbrief info for each A320 variant but  for some reason Fenix wont display flight info.

Hi anyone else experiencing this ? The VDGS recognises the gate number at EBBR when spawned in but no flight details are ever displayed. Flightplan with simbrief is downloaded. Both FBW A320 and default A320 both show all VDGS details. Weird. Got tgo be something to do with simbrief but no idea what ?? Thanks.

I have an i7700k processor with an 1070 gpu for my monitor but am struggling to get 30 fps on medium settings in MSFS2020. Is this about right and what should I upgrade first ? Any advice much appreciated. Game runs off an evo 500g SSD with 32 Gb ram.

Can anyone advise what cable to buy to attach my dell 2713 to my gtx 1070 ? Max resolution is 2560 x 1440. Should I go for display port 1.2, dvi or just a hdmi ?

OK finally sorted it. It was a faulty h60 cooler. I have no idea why stock cooler would not reduce temperatures either but I fitted a new coolermaster 212 evo which I was going to use on my new build and now temperatures at idle are in the high 20's. Would never use a water cooler again as it appears coolermaster is just as good for a third of the price. Thankyou for those that took the time to respond. 😀

Sorry Tony a bit confused now. I have replaced the thermal paste in between the cooler and the heatsink. Are you saying there is a cement under the heatsink and the cooler where the cpu is seated ??

The fan has packed  up on the side. Crappy ezcool case but I have been leaving the side of the case off. Ambient temp. in room is only  about 18 degrees. There is a fair but of dust in case but nothing too excessive. Thanks

Thanks Tony. Both coolers have the same effect so you might be right about the heat sink. Is it just a question of taking cooler off, opening up sink and relocating chip and closing I up ?? Thank you for your reply.

For some reason  I now have my i5 2500k idling at 55 degrees with a h60 cooler. Playing games takes it in the 90's so I have stopped playing them. Have took cooler off and did notice a hell of a lof of dust around radiator. Cleaned it all off as thought I had found the problem.  Reinstalled with new thermal paste but problem is still there. Even tried with old stock Intel cooler with new thermal paste but problem is still the same. Chip is not over clocked.  Running at 3.3 ghz. Computer did shut down once I assume to protect chip. I have no idea now what problem could be. Spent hours trawling through Internet. Is the chip on its last legs ? Any advice gladly appreciated. Thanks. GPU is run in at 45 degrees if that helps anyone.

My dog sat on the USB ports which were connected to my hard drives the other day and I think she has blown something on the motherboard as the ports do not work anymore and the cpu is working at 100% constantly..... grrrrrrr.  Anyway I think technology has moved on enough anyway for me to upgrade from my i5 2500k and 560ti card. I want to base the system around a 6700k and 1070 graphics card, can anyone recommend a decent mid range board and how many Gb of memory would you recommend ? Any other tips would be most valuable. Thanks in anticipation.

Great suggestion for us thinking of changing to x-plane

First of all, have you updated X-Plane to the latest version 10.25?

 

As already suggested above, the must-have scenery improvement is the (recently released) donation-ware HD mesh v2. It introduces improved meshes, landclass and OpenStreetMap data. It covers Europe and North America (55 GB in total), but you can download specific single tiles if you want (about 1-2 GB per tile):

Use the torrents (linked in the website) for faster download. Be sure to follow the installation instructions (very simple, but you might need to edit the scenery.ini file).

 

Also, highly recommended is the "Tree lines and farms" available for USA and Europe, from the same author ( http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-10-tree-lines-and-farms/ ). It adds some detail to default scenery.

 

I also HIGHLY recommend these two freeware add-ons (you need to register on x-plane.org and x-pilot.com to download them):

Thanks Richard, have solved it, not really sure how but now working! Hopefully the CTDs of the prior version are now not an issue and I can use this glorious tweak!

Same problem as you Martin, how did you fix it ? Tried a re-install. Shift lock does nothing, the key is not programmed for anything else.

Firstly as one of the earlier purchases of Opus just want to say thanks for all the upgrades you have put out. I just want to ask a general question about Opus and wind speeds in FSX. Am I right in thinking that if you are using a static theme in Opus, you can increase the wind speed by going into the weather programme in FSX and under user defined weather /customise, increase the wind speed on the slider ? Are the 2 linked together ? Finally do you know if it is possible to increase the maximum wind speed of 36 knots by editing the cfg. somewhere ? I am trying to replicate some more difficult cross wind landings.

Ok Sidh, I know this is not an exact like for like but at Chicago using your settings of 71 and 47 at active runway in my PMDG 737 I am getting 14 FPS with my i5 at 4.5 Ghz and 560 ti.
