Different Aa Between Different Aircraft
Just a querstion to know P3D behavior: I'm using this sim for about thow weeks. It looks amazing, runs well with my hw and the tweaking is less and easier than FSX... Flying different aircrafts, for example A2A C172 (latest version) and the SIbwings Cessna O1, i noticed that first one has a terrible AA. Second one, instead, looks amazing, antialiased and look very pretty... Why P3D has different AA appearance between different models? Is due to new DX11?

Hi guy! During last week end i've done some tests about my tweaks. Results are GPU working at about 40% with peaks at 60/70%, FPS increased to 35/37 in Mega Airports. What kind of tweaks? - Updated Steve FX DX10 Scenery Fixer to V2 - Removed Max Texture Data - Texture Max Load to 1024 (seems ok, sharp texture with a proper and balanced workload) - Water Effects to 5 (yes, increased... my REX4 water needs to be awesome) - FPS from 30 Limited to Unlimited - Inspector AA moved back to 3x3 Now, next days will follow some flights with NGX, but from tests done during last two days seems to be aq good config.

I will try... but i remember 254 is a setting i'd tried weeks ago with no gain. My target might be to use only 3 of the 4 physical cores, leaving Core 0 to the OS, Weather and so on. Whater effects are now set to the minimum to have a good water apparance. I wuold try to not set a lower value. I don't have AA on FSX and NI because using DX10 scenery fixer seem are not working. This tool provides itself an AA setting, and seems to be good SSGS is expensive, but is work for the GPU and its work load seems weak. 1680x1050 (max for my monitor) No undocked windows, only the main one, in windowed mode, flying always in VC. Looking for max reality i don't like external views and any undocked win

First of all: thanks a lot for your posts. Replying step by step: You're right, but i think using these setting is a downgrade on the quality of my system, due to the high end hardware i bought. - LOD back to 4.5 is very frustrating while flying at high levels. Yuo will fly in a clear range of 4.5nm sharply visibile in front of you. That's the reason while I'd choose to take 6.5. - HT off and affinity 14: i will try. Initially, when i bought my PC, it was my setting, then rolled back to HT On when i get X-Plane10 for flying VFR with General Aviation. XP is a great software, written much better than FSX or P3D, and takes great andvantage of my i7's 8 logical cores. - FFTF: removing this section gives me a default FFTF value of 0.33. Since last week this is my setting. The scenery is good with 0.33 but my frames are not good enough while on ground or on final, then i tried to lower FFTF value, obviously FPS are risen but the scenery comes more blurried than before. - MTD and TBM are calculated by FSX Texture Calculator tool, and cross-checked manually following a famous thread of another forum "FSX Settings Demistified". So: for shure FFTF 0.33 gives me a better scenery view lowering a little bit my FPS. My target is to get 29/30FPS in NGS's VC and a good scenery at high levels (i'm writting a good scenery, not asking about perfection). Looking to my HW i think is reasonable. This evening I'll try to get back FFTF 0.33 and to disable my HT. About LOD i will not get it back 4.5, it's too low. About MTD and TBM: where i can calculate with more precision its values? Sorry, i fogot to post. I currently have my FSX's Inspector Profile setup as follows: AA 4xS AnisotropicFiltering 4x or 8x (now i don't remember... i'm at work ) Vsync 1/2

Hi guys, i'm wirting after 1 yeay with my PC, following various guides like Word Not Allowed's, Fsx settings demistified, or the Avsim one. With any kind of settings i obtain the same result flying my NGX: low fps on ground (complex addon sceneries) and blurry scenery while cruising. My hW: - i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz - GTX 660Ti - FSX on a Samsung 840Pro SSD - RAM 8gb DDR3 1600MHz My actual settings FSX.cfg can be found below. It's frustrating to fly in this conditions. Always on ground in scenery like Olbia X, Bergamo X or Dublin X i get FPS NEVER greater than 25. The strange thing is my GPU, that works alway around 20%. Thanks a lot Firehawk... but i haven't any improvement with this fixes. It's so strange. With my cfg I neved had same problem. I haven't installed any addon in the last weeks...

Hi guys. About 3 months ago i've bougth my new PC, assembled for FSX only: i7 3770k @ 4.5ghz with Noctua NH-D14 MSI GD67 8gb corsair vengeance 1600MHz 660Ti Samsung SSD 840Pro 128GB WD Caviar Black 2TB for storage In last month i flown constantly tweaking my cfg, and about a couple of weeks ago i've finally found a great setting. I'll not explain what i've done, the FSX Guide of Avsim and the Word Not Allowed's one were my bible. Surprisngly, from the last week, i've tried to disable the HT on CPU, i've obtained a agood improvement on FPS, but my scenery is now completely blurried... Now, editing some twaks i fixed a lot the situation: AM from 84 to 14, FFTF from 0.1 to 0.25. But is still blurry! For absourd i tried to set FFTF to 0.9. The scenery rendering is better, but not sharp as usual. Please help me, i'm gonna out crazy! Today i get a new cfg deleteing the mine, and i reapplied all the tweaks following the AVSIM's guide. But there are no sharpness improvement in my scenery. Due to the FFTF high value required to get my scenery sharper i think i've something wrong, but i don't know what! My actual tweaks: Highmemfix=1 Texture_max_load=2048 ALLOW_SHADER_30=1 TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120 <- generally i use 40, but now is unusable 40... causes a lot of blur FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.25 <- 0.9 to get something better, but obviously FPS drops down and is not possibile to fly in this state.. AFFINITY_MASK= 14 <-with HT disabled, 84 if enabled Usepools=0

Reverse does not engage
Hi guys! I'm trying to setup my Hotas X via FSUIPC to obtain a parametric reverse setting. But my reversers does not engage! If i use the rev thtrottle on gate all works fine, but afer touchdown, if i don't give little of thrust (not reverse) reversers doesn't work. I've tried to set my throttle from -16k to 0 as normal thrust, from 1 to +16 rev... but doesn't works (only at the gate) I've also tried to leave a death zone: -16k to -1k normal, +1 to +16 reverse.. one again does not works... Please help me!

My doubts about my serial and backup disk
Hi guys, reading the last official posts about SP1c and SDK, i'd now the existance of the extended download service and the backup disks.Now, i've bought my NGX since the 1st month of its life, whit the lanch discount. My 6700 package it was bought on the launch day.After puchasing this fantastic products, i've saved the PMDG mails with the serials on my PC and i've stored my installer, with activation instructions mail, SP and liveries on a wonderful DVD with a salf made cover... For periodical formats or pc problems, i still have installed my packages for 3 tiimes.Does my serials have a limited amount of installs? Or i can be quiet to fly my NGX in the next years?

Livery night lighting: logo lights
Hi guys, I'm painting mi first livery, for my VA... but i've some thoughts about the night lighting on te vertical tail of the NGX 738.In the most liveries that i have (released by PMDG such as KLM, AUA, S7 atc or downloaded for avisim) the logo lighting is not visible... also for the official PMDG livery the logo lights seems to not exist.How can i do to have also the logo lights on my NGX??

Thankyou, but what i've to export without mipmaps? In my workflow i didn't export anything. I take the PSD file, then i paint over this, and i save my BMP file, then i import this bmp file into a DDS file without the alpha channel.I add the alpha channel from a secondo bmp file, exported from an axisting livery of my NGX.If you mean to export my BMP from photoshop without mipmaps, what i have to do for exluding the Mipmaps?

Hi guysThat's my first experience with the livery making.My workflow:I'd take the NGX 800 Paintkit, and i draw my livery on the fuselage.After the crop of the three parts of the fuselage, i'd exported my BMP 32bits from PS CS5.Then, reading fs developer forum i'd learned to import my textures with DirectX SDK, that's may be better than use DTXbmp freeware tool.But when i load my NGX with my livery, this seems to be less sharpen than the original BMP... then: what i can do fopr obtain a great textures as the fantastic liveries proposed in the "Livery availability" Thread?
