Need help finding a joystick for FSX
Hello Ernie, My stick is a Logitech Force 3D Pro, as far as I know the force feedback version of the Extreme 3D pro you are looking at. It's not the worlds best stick, but I like the force feedback part in combination with the payware add on FSForce (the standard FSX force feedback is horrible and should be switched off at all times). The biggest advantage is the trimming, in a real stick plane you put the stick in a position that gives you the desired pitch=speed and then you trim till the stick force is zero. The stick then stays in that position, which is rarely in the center. with FSForce it works exactly as in a real plane: with you thumb on the top buttons (map your trimming there) you can trim until the force is zero and the stick stays in that position. Any other stick has to return to center while trimming, this one stays were I put it and I find that rather cool. Bonus is the real nice configuration of force intensity (you can make your stick become more firm at higher speeds, nice for WWII prop fighers), runway vibrations etc. Once you gather funds for the Saitek throttle quadrant, you can put that on the left to make it even more realistic. As to the hand: this is a right hand stick and most stick planes are flown with the right hand on the stick. In the Scout you pruchased you will find most other controls on the left (throttle, mixture, prop, flaps lever), leaving your right hand free for the stick. Most, if not all, WWII fighers and modern jets will have throthles, gear, flaps etc. on the left. The major exception are the modern stick Airliners, mostly Airbus, where the captain has the fly a lefthanded stick with his right hand for the central throttle quadrants. Hope this helps. Cheers, EZy

Pan in VC produces double image or 'ghosting'
Thanks all for the tips. I've tried with two screens, two different cables and also went back to old mother board and graphics card briefly, which uses different drivers. All works good, but the ghosting effect is the same. I guess I've always had it, but only now that my system is up to scratch and everything else is smooth I see this. For now, I guess the LCD screen latency is the best explanation (my 2 screens are 5 and 8ms, not bad I thought). On the plus side, at least I'm a master at rebuilding the pc by now.... The CPO cooler seems to installed much better (a bit more cooling paste than previously does wonders), running cool at 4.5GHz.

Pan in VC produces double image or 'ghosting'
Hello All, Having updated my system performance is good, except for one little problem that drives me nuts: when panning in the VC (actually also spot view) the image seems to be drawn twice which especially seems to blur my cockpit. Best way to test for me: open the default flight and in the ultralight and look sideways that the red wires connected to the handle bar: when panning the wires seem to blur and go as wide as the pan movement between 2 frames. When stopping panning the wires are sharp and narrow again. Since I use TrackIr this effeft has become a nuisance as the frequent movement gives me an 'out of focus' sensation. I've been searching this and other forums, where most sollutions point to improving the performance of my machine, but that is, verified, no problem. For a while I even thought my screen was interlacing, but that does not seem to be the case. I've played with all kinds of camera settings, frame limiters etc. but I keep coming down to that when panning, the frames seem to be half the old position and half the new position wich is a kind of motion blur. (higer frame rates make the effect smaller, but it's still there). Any tips would be much appreciated.
