I've been flying around NZ for the last few weeks. Highly recommend and easy on frames in my experience.

Thanks Alex. Check out these paints by Jon Murchison if you haven't seen them.

Just downloaded and installed that Process Monitor. How do I use it to filter for P3D/FSZ to see what it loads?I'm not sure you can. You can just see the total VAS used by each programme.

Hi
Isn't it likely to be something in the scenery central London? I have UK2000's EGLL and when sitting at the gate move an outside view towards the east and the frame rate halves. It's always been that way.

Hello Everybody. My name is Alex Ford. I’m the Publishing Director at just Flight. I just wanted to post an initial message firstly saying thank you very much for purchasing our new F27 Friendship, secondly its very nice to see that so many of you are enjoying it and thirdly thank you all for your feedback both good and these reporting issues or clarification. We are reading everybody’s comments as far as is humanly possible and we are feeding back any issues so that they can be investigated and if valid addressed. There will be a software update issued for the F27 as soon as its ready, but currently we have no release date for it, however needless to say that its being worked on now with all due attention. I will post here again as things progress.
Thanks a lot Alex. I'm really enjoying the F27...

So what are suggesting I try, sorry your post wasn't clear?
Sorry!
A less aggressive overclock (if you are running one). Just try it, could be the answer.
Try without vsync. Personally I don't think it's needed with FSX with modern cards (that's MY experience).

Hi Angelo
I found that with my GTX 670 when I had an aggressive overclock on my i5 3570k (bufferpools=0). Since paring it back I don't really have it and I run without vsnyc. Perhaps a couple of things to try.

No, the database is the one Garmin supplies for the real GTN series.
Thanks Bill.

I'm looking at picking this up to go with my new RA Turbine Duke. How can the database be updated. Is it Navigraph?
-
Another vote for the Legacy. It's fantastic and great value.

I think you'll be fine….
On a i5 3570k overclocked to 4.2mhz and a GTX670 I can achieve 25-30fps...
PMDG 777
UK2000's EGLL
20% traffic (Traffic 360)
Orbx Europe/England
Normal autogen
ASN weather….
Any other aircraft, like the Aerosoft 319/320, etc add 5-10fps.
Just don't go CRAZY on the settings…tempting I know….

This is the one thing that don't make sense to me. He was already cockpit crew, I would think he would (or should) already know how the cockpit door worked. Why would he need that search?
Who knows, but perhaps it was with things he wasn't familiar with, like the exact strength of the door or if there were potentially other safe guards that could override the locking.

So sorry to read your news Tom. Thank you soooo much for supporting AVSIM, as a relatively new member it's fantastic resource.
Kind regards

The gtx670 is still a very good card, I've been running one since they were launched.
-
Very nice!

No problem. It just wasn't clear...

Hi Adam
Your post isn't clear. Did you do what I suggested and are reporting back, or the problem has gone away?

Adam
I've had this problem before, some time ago. What I believe I did was disable the Traffic 360 airport facilities in the scenery library. I think it was a particular combo of scenery and the Traffic 360 additions that was causing my problem.
Try and let us know how you get on.
Kind regard

Likewise.
I thought it may have been a key assignment "clash" but I haven't managed to track it down yet....
-
Recommend you look at two things in combination the advice already given.
1. Pare the autogen back a bit, maybe start back at Normal. Autogen is very demanding....
2. Try the buffer pools tweak already talked about by cianpars
And slow loading....you need to look at getting an SSD.

So what's the situation for existing FSX developers? Will they/can they redesign their existing offerings for the Steam version?
I also assume they can continue developments for the standalone version of FSX?

I have EGPH and EGLL, what's Stanstead like?
-
Well that should be fine then. Do a google for power supply calculator. I remember using a tool that calculated the requirements.
-
I think i'll buy the i7 4790k later this year and the 970 later on when the price has dropped :-) but is 600W enough to run this cpu and gpu?
btw, Your landing wasn't that bad, I had some harder ones
Regards,
Oscar
Hi Oscar
The GTX970 is supposed to be very good on the power requirements so assuming your power supply is a good quality one you'll probably be ok with 600w. I ran my overlocked i5 with a single GTX670 with a 650w Corsair and it was absolutely fine.
Should mention that it's not necessarily a case of FSX OR P3D, you can use both, they can co-habitate!

The MD-11 is my favourite PMDG simulation, and certainly the most interesting plane so far...

I'd be happy with updated cockpit textures. That's all it really needs I think. There are McPhat textures for the external model and the systems, etc, are very well done.
