  1. Volumetric fog is already in the engine and volumetric clouds have been previewed but not yet released.
  2. Now imagine that with 3D trees...
  3. The new update is amazing. There`s quite a performance drop but the problem has been found and will be fixed. Here`s some screenshots: (Not mine)
  4. Tree and terrain shadows! Sunset shots are going to be even more awesome!
  5. Yes, 64bit is not necessary. More like a "really recommended feature" The logic behing it is, why leave so much available resources go to waste? Although Outerra has a small issue when using the Google Maps overlay, it gets an OOM error.
  6. Now, Levi, the guy who imported the Beasler and the Ilyushin has gained permission from Project Airbus to convert their A380. The visual results put FSX to shame even now.
  7. Yeah, I`ve been there. I got a new gfx card, a new motherboard, RAM, a new CPU Cooler and I overclocked my CPU, just to get 5-7 more frames in FSX. While the upgrades worked just fine for any other game (almost doubling my PC`s performance), FSX was stubborn to the old ways, and will always will. Time for an upgrade, I say.
  8. Ground scenery shadows are there already. Also, since the roads are actually part of the terrain, I can guarantee that there`s not going to be a bigger drop than 2 Fps! Not yet! Although I think they won`t release anything until it performs well. Performance is one of the top priorities in Outerra and the result of following such a strategy is already visible!
  9. Yes, I was just saying, that would be a good feature to have if they were developing a flight sim.
  10. If I were in their shoes, I`d add clickable cockpits as well, to call it a flight sim.
  11. Getting back on the topic, before anyone mentions the letters "VS", thats some good looking terrain shadows, but it still needs some work. It seems that generated rock structures don`t cast shadows yet.
  12. There were waves in FSX, but they were just 2D textures moving along the shorelines. Outerra waves are actual 3D waves. (The water actually "swells")
  13. Yep. They said they will definately make a Mac version. I don`t know when though.
  14. Yeah, I think its a little too heavy as well. We`ll see how it develops.
  15. Small update: Testing Ambient Occlussion on the Cessna cockpit. Confirmed: Its real-time! The difference is hard to notice. Right Click on the images and open them in another tab. Then flip back and forth between the tabs to see what`s different. Without AO With AO
  16. I don`t know. I only used it recently.
  17. Don`t you use the in-game recorder?
  18. You can tweek the terrain setting to prioritise the trrain loading. I asked Cameni (the developer) about it and he said that was done on purpose and can be twaked. It was the first time I heard somebody not blaming it to the PC of the one who had the problem.
  19. Huge things from Project Airbus - YES! Also, the Ilyushin Il-14P is released! http://www.mediafire.com/download/454x04ctoyna45q/Ilyushin_Il14P.Levi.otx
