  1. OK - by sheer chance I've found a workaround that allowed me to refuel and complete the mission, so I figured I should post here in case anyone else has the same issue. I hope it works for you too. 1) I tried to restart the Stearman Aerobatics mission - and I still had no fuel (I had hoped that maybe Microsoft might have patched it, but they hadn't). 2) I quit the mission and then immediately went to do an Aerocache hunt, which happened to be at Hilo which has fuel. (This was the Aerocache of the Day, Waiakea Pond, and the Aerocache was right next to the airport - I think it's possibly important that the Aerocache is nearby, or else the next bit might might not work; you might be too far away from the airport to be able to do the glide landing) 3) When I started the Aerocache hunt I found myself above Hilo in the Stearman with the Big Red paint scheme, and still with no fuel and the engine stopped. 4) I managed to do a glide landing at Hilo and I was then able to fuel the Stearman up. 5) I completed the Aerocache hunt and then landed at Hilo again (I don't know if this last bit is important or not, or whether I could have just quit the hunt after point 4, but I figure I should tell you exactly what I did). 6) I restarted the Stearman Aerobatics mission, I was fully fueled up and I was able to complete the mission. So, it looks like if anybody else has the same problem they should be able to fix it the same way as I did - do an Aerocache hunt that is nearby an airport that has fuel, immediately after trying the Stearman Aerobatics mission. There are several hunts that ought to work. I hope this helps anyone else who has the same problem I did.
  2. I didn't know that (useful info - thanks!), but the paint scheme for the mission ('big red') isn't available to me until I complete the mission. So I can't fuel it up as I haven't completed the mission. Right now the only paint schemes available to me are: 'US Navy'; 'Army Air Corps'; 'Recall' & 'Rides'.
  3. No, I haven't, but I just tried it - didn't make any difference. Still have zero fuel. So it seems like it's A or B. Which doesn't surprise me with MS. Unless someone else has a suggestion? I suppose I could always uninstall it and start again but at Level 15 that seems like - how can I put this? - unacceptable. If I can't complete this mission all the other missions that flow from it aren't available to me, but going back to Day One seems like overkill. <insert 'MS sucks' rant here/>
  4. Hi - hope I'm posting this in the right forum. Point One: I'm a complete newb to flight sims (please, forgive me!), and I've got a problem with the Stearman Aerobatics mission. Point Two: I'm on the tarmac with no fuel, becuase I ran out of fuel trying to complete the mission! There's no fuel available at this airport. Even if I fuel the Stearman up in the hangar I still have no fuel when I start the mission - it won't start up, either by hitting 'B' or 'Q' for the checklist. I can't bring up the map to take me to a different airport with fuel - 'M' doesn't work. I'm playing this on Steam (if that's relevant - what do I know?! See Point One LOL). Am I: A) Screwed. B ) Royally Screwed C) You dumb newb, all you have to do is ... Please tell me it's C. Feel free to tell me how dumb I am. If it's A or B feel free to tell me how dumb MS is for designing a game which lets newbs like me get in jams like this. [obligatory "what's with your weird username" explanation: I do recreational sport fishing from a kayak; my kayak is called a Hobie Outback; here in Australia we call kayaks 'yaks' for short: outbackyak, OK?]
