Weather textures...
Thank you. I've read so many reviews/opinions it all gets confusing. The biggest complaint I see about AS textures is on the ground like runways and tarmacs. Any input on this. I just don't want to make a purchase and then wish went another direction

Weather textures...
Ok, at the risk of opening a can of worms here I have a couple questions. I have been a long time flight sim user but have until now not been able to do much along the lines of addons due to poor PC. I have solved that problem and am ready to take the plunge. This is what I was planning... at least until a few days ago. I planned to purchase AS2012 so I could finally experience "real weather" for the first time, even though I have read the textures aren't the best. Now I am seeing ASN coming out in the "near" future so now not so sure what to do. I was willing to sacrifice graphics slightly for better weather with AS2012 but now with ASN I see no textures included. Now I'm thinking of getting REX for textures (and get by with not so good weather generation) and wait for ASN for more accurate weather generation when it comes out. What do you think. I'm also looking into getting GEX, UTX so any opinions along those lines would be great as well. Thank you all Scott

Ram question
I am building my new system and received my parts today. My motherboard came with a single stick of corsair vengeance 8gb 1600. I didn't realize I was receiving only a single stick so here's my question. Should I order a second stick and have 16gb knowing that is overkill or just order new set of 2x4gb faster with lower CL for same price?

Opinions on yet another build
flymedic replied to flymedic's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcOk. Another question. I was looking at asrock extreme6 but newegg has extreme4 on sale for good price. So since I am not planning SLI would it be fine? Other than PCI E slot differences and VRM heatsink differences is it worth the added expense for the 6?

Opinions on yet another build
flymedic replied to flymedic's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcOk thank you. Would the 670 even be overkill? Should I just go with the 660? I assume putting fsx stuff all on a single ssd is not a bad idea? I've read a lot on here and just want to make sure I'm on the right track. Yes I'm planning to build myself. Been putting parts list together through newegg. Really not sure size of power supply I need. I don't plan to SLI at any time so with parts listed and modest overclock what do you think?

Opinions on yet another build
I am in the planning process to build a new system. I am currently using e8500 with 4gb ddr2 400 ram so I know anything will be a huge improvement but here is what I am thinking. Asrock z77 extreme6 motherboard 3570k. Plan to OC to 4.4-4.6 8gb DDR3 1866 cas 9 Crucial m4 64gb ssd for OS (windows 7 64bit) Crucial m4 128 gb ssd for fsx and add ons only WD 1tb black hdd for other stuff Thermaltake smart series 750m PS Rosewill Thor v2 case Enermax ets t40 CPU cooler GTX 660ti or GTX 670... Haven't decided for sure. So what do you think? Plan to have several add ons such as GEX,UTX,GSX,AS2012, PMDG aircraft and others. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Scott
