if you are from UK, yes PCP is cheaper. That's her homeland with a lot of advantage on the postal price. For us, UK is part of the "worldwide subscription", at the moment we are offering a cheaper price for the US, because we have enough consumers to get a good price from the USPS. For the UK, we will start a special offer with beginn of nov 2012, I'm already talking with an local partner to benefit from the UK postal price. The same for australia. it is very expensive to send this magazines out, but we already started the proceedings. at the moment the worldwide price is 49,99 USD, this weekend with a big discount, down to 41.66 USD / 25,92 £ . But even with the discount, a difference of 2 £.

I also got the subscription renew notice by email, and I welcome it. Thank you. I have taken advantage of the discount and renewed my subscription. The attached .pdf form was very professional, but I would also suggest that you provide some text in the body of the email in a professional format. Attachments with blank emails look too much like virus infected emails. That's true, we will add the same text to the e-Mail, not only in the pdf. So the consumer can choice between e-mail or pdf for his archive. Or if you do a review of an addon product in the magazine, make a YouTube video that builds on the article . I believe that would add a new dimension of interest to each of the articles and you can reference the link to your YouTube channel within the article or, better yet, send an email to the subscriber for that month, with all of the links to the YouTube videos along with any other promos. for our german magazine we are already publishing videos on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/flightmagazin that will also be an service for computer pilot online, but first I want to resolve the service and shipment problems. would like to see articles on things like setting up EZdok Camera (maybe with some links to profiles of popular addon aircraft), Getting the most out of weather programs like Active Sky 2012, Opus and REX. Even showing how to combine them to get better weather. Captain Mike Ray, writing an article on realistic flying of the NGX put in the beautiful style of his articles. Taking advantage of scenery and setting up scenery in the FSX or P3D library to the most advantage. Where do meshes go best? Where does photo scenery go best? Where do airports go? Is it best to turn off scenery that is not being used on a flight? all this questions are good for articles and how to use reviews. In our Flight! we have a lot of this content. We will work together with the CPM Authors, to develop an knowledge area for the magazine. The new CPM will only have 50 % of product reviews, the rest will be how to use, fly or install. Like in the Jun/Jul Edition, we will put much less advertisment space in the magazine. At the beginning note if the aircraft being reviewed is for beginner, intermediate or advanced simmers, Too many times I see a wonderful review of a product, then it says only a few systems are functional within the aircraft. with the next CPM Edition, we will also start our new grading chart, The blue rectangle on the right side, you will find an chart from 0 to 10 (best), with the details of each point (also 0 to 10). On the top the pro/contra and the product details (price, publisher, beginner/expert) .... and this chart will be used to publish the best of list (scenery and aircraft) With aircraft like the PMDG NGX, the visual quality and systems bar has been raised so high that most payware addons can't match up, yet there are still many payware addons that I enjoy very much. A short list would be: The Leonardo Maddog, Coolsky's Super80, Coolsky-McPhat-Flight1 DC-9, Captain Sim 707 and 727, Quality Wings BAe 146, Blackbox Airbus 320. yes, all this airplanes are different. An different approach to review the products. It would be nice to do a good article, reviewing the Level D 767, and how it compares to new aircraft being produced, since it is still a big favorite among simmers after all the years that it has been out. in our Flight! Team, we have some real Pilots, also with 767 experience, I will ask him for an knowledge article about the Level D But something I need to keep in mind is what has always been my goal to support the "small guys". Thus, I normally don't shop at the larger franchised stores and try to give my money to the local business people, especially with the economy as it is. I want to support the smaller entrepreneurs. that sounds good, thank you So here is a challenge for other folks like myself who received the intimidating letter from your billing agency. On monday, I have an meeting with the agency, to talk about the problems and resolve fix all this. It might take some time and hard work by the new owners to sort it out but they are obviously trying. oh yes, it is very hard to transfer a database with thousands of addresses. We received hundreds of magazines back from the jun/jul edition, wrong or outdated address :( However, to ask them to put up cash for refunds when clearly this would come out of their own pocket and not the company coffers is asking too much in my opinion . we will never ask money for non send magazines. If you have now an subsc. with 3 issues to go and you want to renew now, your balance will be positive with 9 (6+3) Magazines. Do you intend to put this magazine on the newsagent's shelf in Rep. of Ireland???? not at the moment, we are talking with an newsstand agent in UK and with some stores in the US/Canada to sale the magazines, but at the moment it is to expensive to print all this magazines and to distribute all this over the world. That's the reason, why we are just offering an subsc. delivery at the moment, so we can arrange us with the printer, to just print what we need. In the newsstand distribution, you have +- 50% of the magazines which will be destroyed, that will be a very big invest at the moment and for the moment, too much risk.

nice publicity for PCP in our Thread  (not fair, but nice) my opinion about the competition discussion, you can not compare the two magazines, we are totally different. PCP is part of Key Publishing, the World’s Leading Transport Publisher (source: KP Website). The Computer Pilot is published by flight simulation fans, people like you and me. no commercial idea behind, just our passion for the flight simulation. We are not publishing the Magazine to win money with, we are publishing our articles, informations to help to sharp the Flight Sim Community. Yes we don't have access to the same financial power or service level. Sorry for this, but we are doing our best, the best for our passion, for your passion. No one on board of the CPM is working full time for the magazine, every one has another job in the life. With Computer Pilot you are supporting the only independent printed magazine for the Flight Simulation, no add-on publisher behind, no commercial idea. That's a big difference to the other magazines. About me, I'm working for an advertising and event agency, that's my full time job. The Aviation and Flight Simulation is since 1995 my passion, my love and my life. That's the reason why I take the risk, to rescue the very known Computer Pilot Magazine and in 2007 the Flight!. It will not be easy to rescue this magazine, to redevelop the concept, to improve the service, but my team has the courage to try and do it. And we will need your help, your support, your feedback and for sure, your loyalty.

And good news for the iPad Fans, our App is in the final approach for the app store.

sorry, maybe a problem in the IT System, a missed link / connection from your "new" subscription and the old one. To have improve the database, all renew is created with a new subscription. Because with the first jun/jul we received over hundred of magazines back, with false address, names, ... I will forward your name and status to our service dep, to check this.

that is true, we will also add the text to the mail. A lot of consumers likes the download of the letter for the archive. so, how do you want that to be contacted to renew the subscription? Since the new ownsership, we are based in Europe. So the law and the IT system is different. We are changing everything (and it is very expensive!) to be conform with the US Law and to be like an US based Magazine, but it isn´t so easy to change all this. The new Computer Pilot Service is based on the best known Flight! Magazin structure, based in Germany. A merger between two magazines. To work with two different offices, service departments will be to expensive for a flight sim magazine. on www.computerpilot.com on the right widget corner, you will find a free issue to read online. I'm in the business since 2007, over 50 magazines send out and without problems. We will also fix all the Computer Pilot Problems. The change from the former publisher to a new one, always come with problems. We are working hard to fix als problems, to continue with the magazine, to deliver the best flight sim magazine.

Computer Pilot magazine
so something with the address is wrong. we didn't received money from PCaviator and yes, we will honour all the subscriptions. That was in the past, the new computer pilot will be different. The subscriptions are always first class for us. This relaunch of the magazine isn't my first. It was in 2007, the same situation with our Flight! Magazine. Now we will publish the 50th Edition of the magazine, this in only 5 years. Not so bad at all For all the other questions, here my letter to the computer pilot readers (from aug 2012) Dear readers, Joyful news is that the first issue of the restructured Computer Pilot finally left our warehouse and is now on its way to your mailboxes – all throughout the world. The re-organization and negotiations we had to perform in order to ensure the move from the print shop and the delivery to your home was more complicated than we hoped and greatly delayed our planned delivery; and therefore, we want to supply you with some firsthand information about the current situation of the magazine, as well as the changes that we had to make. As a long-time reader and Computer Pilot enthusiast myself, I was shocked after I received the message that the last issue under PC Aviator’s ownership was PDF-only and that the future of the magazine was uncertain. As soon as possible, having the experience of the German Flight! Magazine, we stepped in, and with a significant investment, saved Computer Pilot magazine. To be honest with you, the transition tasks were quite difficult. The magazine’s financial losses were very high, as they led to the crisis that it was in. In record-breaking time the new team had to find solutions to deliver your beloved magazine at earliest convenience. Often, we had to break down the barriers of bureaucracy that we encountered in the management of several subcontractor companies we need to use. It was complicated to establish an editorial team that is spread all over the globe and to reorganize it. After those problems were solved and the first magazine issue was actually printed, we had another obstacle to tackle: setting up a reliable delivery system. We assumed we had that in place already, but at the very last minute that proved not to be the case. We contacted many companies that specialize in the area of worldwide distribution of magazines, but only very few of them were able to fulfill our high standards. Finally, after weeks of work, 'French Post' agreed to send out the more than 15,000 magazines to over 120 countries all over the world. At the time of writing the first issues have already made it to the mailboxes of many Computer Pilot readers. Our highest priority is the quality of our magazines as well as preserving the independence of them. This is the only way to guarantee fair and critical articles on the latest flight simulation products and businesses. Because of this policy and with the problems at hand needing to be resolved first, we decided to wait with production of the next issue instead of sending out an unfinished magazine. So yes, there will be some further delays in production and delivery before we are back on track with regular bi-monthly shipments. From the outset we agreed to deliver ALL Computer Pilot issues, even those that were paid for prior to the takeover. For the publisher this meant that we had to make major investments, but for our devoted readers we were happy to do so. The transfer of the subscription data was very difficult but we even took this hurdle, in order to offer smooth service for our customers. Currently we are working on changing the structure from the European system to the US’s. We are not entirely done yet, but getting close. So what does the future look like? First of all we continue FIXING the problems that ensued after taking over and moving the subscription administration to a 3rd party company. There are still some problems left to solve, but we are confident we get that done within the next few months. Secondly, we will continue producing the new magazine if and when it is ready. That means it will still take some time before we are back onto a regular bi-monthly schedule, but that should all be done before the end of the year. We have an awesome pool of talented, skilled and above all enthusiastic writers to ensure interesting reading for years to come. Thirdly, although we did a LOT of work on the new website, we are still not happy with it and there will be more changes. Specifically the 'member' part and the 'payment section' need work. But it takes second place in our efforts. Our prime goal is to deliver a PRINTED magazine every two months. Despite all those investments we want to keep the sales price of your favorite magazine as low as possible. Therefore we will keep up our work on the financial restructuring. Computer Pilot and Flight! are run by flight simulation enthusiasts who are interested in delivering high quality information to their readers throughout the world. We are not a commercial publisher that made an acquisition; we care about Computer Pilot magazine and its readers, and together we are looking forward to a bright future. Dear Phil, yes, nearly to 10.000 other flightsim fans received the magazine. our service department will send a second magazine out to you, that's our free service. At the moment this magazines are send from Luxembourg to all over the world, sometime in only 5 days, but often we need +- 14 Days for the delivery. (worldwide) that's is true. We (the new publisher) don't pay refund from former payments. The simple reason, we can't. You paid to PC Aviator, so we can't do a refund now. that's very good For all the questions, please contact us on [email protected] , we will do our best to help you.
