Thanks guys, sorry for the lateness in replying to your suggestions 1) The drive went bad again, so this is the 3rd time in 4-1/2 years, if it was OTHER than an iMac I would have no problem swapping the bugger out myself, but iMacs are difficult to work on. 2) So I just got the computer back with a new DVD drive and a bigger HD and have got everything running again. I'll try the "disc image" route and will let you know. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. f
  2. Sorry if this has been covered but I'm a new member here and have not yet found an answer to my problem, so please be kind. I have been using X-plane V9 for about 3 years in an iMac and am fairly good at it, unfortunately the iMac DVD drive is a pain in the ***, I'm on my 3rd replacement. Is there ANY way I can run X-plane without a working internal DVD drive? I have an external drive, and a USB thumb drive. I'm not a Mac techie at all, although I was very familiar with DOS and Windows in the past. Thanks a lot for ANY help. fleigle
