  1. Thanks for the info guys. I did not download/install the P3D SDK because I did not see anything in the instructions saying to do so. Now I have already followed the instructions for MT6 setup - should I just delete the install and restart following your instructions? I there anything I need to do with the SDK once I install it (other than what you mention above?)
  2. Yep, played it for a few hours when I first installed it (P3D) Sunday. No issues whatsoever. Smooth as silk and flew out of various North American airports with no problems at all. Rock solid. Installed MT6 this AM and that's when the problems started. Yeah, that's the forum where they have to approve posts for new users.. and have been sitting on mine for hours
  3. I just bought it too because of the recommendations here of it being V3 compatible and indeed read me does say it is as well. HOWEVER, I have a problem though and the official forums aren't helping me because I can't post a topic without "approval" because I am a new member and it's been several hours since I posted it... Oh well so thought I'd try here (hope you don't mind). I bought it, seemed to install fine following the instructions and sure enough I have AI traffic at airports. However, P3D now crashes on me after a couple minutes. Doesn't seem to be any real rhyme or reason. Fresh install of P3D (just bought it actually) so absolutely no other add-ons and hence no 3rd party conflicts, not even aircraft. I would appreciate any insight as to how/why this could be happening. i7-6700k, 980ti, 32GB RAM, fresh Win 8.1 install in addition to the fresh software installs.
  4. That's too bad because I was just thinking I'd LOOVE a 146! :(
  5. Thanks for the replies guys, I'll check into MT6. Regarding the aircraft, I don't need anything super realistic, IE that default 737 on FSX was probably the one I spent the most time on but I certainly wouldn't be against something better.
  6. Hi folks, new P3D V3 user here. Haven't actually been into FS for some time but thought I'd give it a go with my new ultrawide U3415W monitor! Anyhow, couple of questions. I did some browsing of this forum and would appreciate some of your valuable experience. Are there any decent freeware passenger jets that are compatible with V3? I miss the default (although questionable) 737 in FSX. I was under the impression the P3D was compatible with FSX aircraft, however I just downloaded that free Justflight 757 Freemium and it refuses to install as there is no FSX install on my system. I also own the boxed version of FSX and FSXSE but neither are installed. Is there a way to get it to work with P3D? I also really miss somewhat realistic AI traffic on P3D. Doing some reading here, it appears that MT6 is/can be compatible with some work, but I am concerned buying it and having issues and it only says 2.5 on the webstore. I assume it won't give me big auto-installer issues like the 757 above? Are there any other AI programs to be recommended? Appreciate the insight! Thanks.
  7. Is a kickstarter in the works to pay LM to reply to all these questions? I think it's great, but holy cow.
  8. Thanks very much for the replies. My apologies for not posting my specs. I should know better: i5-2500k, 16GB RAM, 7 Pro, GTX 570. Sims are on a 250GB Crucial SSD. Fresh installs all around and up to date drivers. That did it. I think. I pushed it all the way up to 100 miles and I saw what looked like hills in the distance. I flew towards them and as I got, again, within about 20-30 miles the "hills" started having some horrific texture pop in of the mountains. I am certainly not impressed with the results. Looks great when you are in the thick of it, but not so good when you're not :(. Is a pitty for immersion. Well, that certainly seems more look like what I had in mind, but I'm a little disapointed X doesn't do something like that out of the box. You can see the difference between "roughly" the same point in my screen shots between FSX and X10. FSX is first and you can clearly see the rockies on the horizon.
  9. I recently picked up X-10 Global and did a full install on my SSD. Gotta say, I was pretty impressed by Seattle in its default. Looked great. Then, I went to my local airport, about 60 miles from the Rockies (CYQL) and the disappointments really began. The default strip was absolutely woeful and X-plane had the Nasa 747 taking off on the 5500' runway ahead of me. I could live with that though. The biggest issue I had was the distance drawing. I extended the drawing options that I could see, took away fog/haze and could not see even the most basic outline of the rockies from my airport. I flew towards them and probably needed to get about 30-40 miles until they started to come in. Am I missing some basic setting here? I think the mesh and texture looks great from up close, but from a "relatively" short distance on a clear day it's completely missing for me and really kills the immersion factor.
  10. I've seen it for sale at my local Wal-Mart for $29
