WoAI Shutting Down 30 April 2013!
Sure I downloaded those files when I came to know what could be inside. Without detailed knowledge we cannot take any actions My only concern was naming something like this here will increase the popularity of such things. Note that I even found payware in some packages.

Maybe it is my opinion only. But these packages offered by several people violating laws. Even though the original work is freeware it does not mean that people can spread it. Mostly the freeware contains a readme file which clearly states that the upload to any other page without permission of the author as well as including it in a package is against the will of the creator. Downloading such a package encourages people to continue violating the law. We at WoAI always asked for permission. If it was granted we used the work. If not we did not use it. If it was granted first and later denied we made the packs unavailable. It is really sad to read such behaviour in the most visited flight simmer place. :( Jan WoAI

mr340: you may use the packages on your own disk(s). You are not allowed to upload or share the files. That's it

World of AI is going to stop
I read so many topics about the closure of WoAI now. Let me explain why we will pull the plug and I want to stop the rumours as well. Feel free to contact me in case I missed some details. We at WoAI had a wonderful time creating and testing the packages and we enjoyed the positive feedback from the community. The number of downloads proved that our work was appreciated by many from the community. Many of you (including myself) started with the WoAI packages to populate their virtual skies. After all those years some of us lost interest in FS completely others just don't have the time anymore. The reason why we have to remove the packages is the fact that we do not own the models/flightplans/repaints. This work was done by others which gave us permission to use their work for the time WoAI is around. Since we will shut down we will ask the library managers to remove all the packages to respect the authors will. There is no plan to join/create a succeding group. With the above mentioned explanation it will not be possible to handover the permissions as these were solely given to WoAI - especially since some of the mentioned authors are not around anymore (e.g. Billy Rutherford). If you have downloaded (or will download) our packages you can use them as long as you want. You do not have to remove them from your disk(s). BUT: you are not allowed to distribute them in any form including uploading them to any file hosting site. On a side note: I read somewhere somebody guessing tax issues. This is definetly NOT the case. We had no income at any time. The bills for the provider and the site were paid by the management of WoAI. For further questions feel free to ask me. Even after April 2013 I will be around from time to time and you can also reach me in the AIG or MAIW forums ("sprocky") where I am more frequently. Jan WoAI
